  1. Few people suffered this with their s1's and s2's. I had the same problem i changed my airflow meter, got new plugs gapped at 0.8 any i also insulated my coilpacks from the engine this seemed to stop the problem for a little while but then it came back. So i dont know if it was the same problem or a different one with the same symptoms. any way it turned out to be a split pipe that ran accross the top of my engine. One thing you can try is a bucket of soapy water run your hand over any air pipes if you hear a hissing sound could be a split pipe - reason its getting worse is the pipe could be splitting more. Im not saying this is the problem but it sounds similar to the problem i had with my s1 a little while ago. i know its a different engine but its worth a look.
  2. lol why does noone comment after pictures are put up?
  3. Pictures as promised, i dunno about you guys but that dont look like any normal Stagea issue ware of a tyre. any way it may not be related, but it could be an issue? The damage is way worse then the OP's but i guess i wasn't lucky enough to find it before they blew.
  4. dont be fooled this happened to both my rear tyres and they blew out at 110 km/h both 50m apart Lucky i was i the middle of moving house and had my stockies in the back of the car. I still dont know what caused it and i could not find any polish marks in the wheel arch when they did my breaks even the guys at brakes plus said they could not find any point of contact. i had 19's on and @ $350 a tyre i thought to hell with that and put my stockies back on. havn't had any issues with it since. One idea i did have is that when doing hi-way travle and you hit a sag or dip in the road "maybe" the top part of your rear shock grazes the tyre. but again i cannot be sure. as i couldnt find any rubber under the wheel arch. pretty sure i had the same tyres as you "falkens" and i think mine were 245/??-R19 I will take some picks when i get home and show you its exactly the same thing.
  5. do you want the spotties on at the same time as the foggies? if so cant you just tap into the exsiting fog light wiring? not sure if this is what you ment but hopefully its an idea.

  12. Thanks mate will give it ago today just not sure if they will have the pipe down at nissan.
  13. *I am no machanic or auto electrician but here are some ideas* This may sound silly and you have probly already done it, But check all your wiring like where wires have been spliced into (lugs, loose solders, any thing). also check your earth point on your starter motor by connecting the -ve connection (or earth point) on your starter with one lead of your multimeter and touching the other lead to the body of your car (where there is no paint) and reading the ohms value im sure it should be less then 1. Make sure your starter motor is actually getting voltage when you turn your key by placing multimeter over the +ve and -ve connections on the starter with the multimeter set to VDC (should get around 12.4vdc?). and most importantly run a multimeter over your fuses one by one checking for continuity. I say, if you dont know check em all lol? I could be wrong with some of these tests so dont hold it against me . hope you figure it out as even though your car is having issues now im sure when its sorted ull go back to loving it.
  14. extra battery? lol i have two 600W RMS Dual coil subs and a 1000W Amp when the bass is full you can see the front lights and dash lights dim to the beat. i dont know what battery you have in yours but mine came with a pissy little girly one that isnt fit for a motorbike let alone a monster size wagon with full electrics.
  15. Hey guys not sure if you read my post a little while ago about a split pipe and the car acting silly etc etc well this is the pipe that split now i have a question. Can i remove this pipe? or is there another option i can replace it with, lol im not even sure what it does? i think ive seen it removed on some engines and i think ive also seen a little air? looking filter on the right hand side. basicly ive still got tape on it and it hurts my feelings, coz it looks terrible. Any Ideas?
  16. do the km's match what is on your dash? lol just would be funny is they didnt.
  17. just thought id add this in for any s1 owners that cant be stuffed looking around for different stuff or just plain and simply cant be F*%$ed doing there breaks them selves Brakes plus in frankston are doing my car on saturday and they have quoted me $314 for pads all round $39 for brake fluide and if i need my rotors machined $75 per pair no time and no hassle = priceless. they also assured me my breaks would not be a problem at all.
  18. Spent three days down in port macquarie last wednesday to friday and i saw 2 stags one maroon the other silver cant remember if they were s1 or s2 also saw a shit load of liners. that place is sposed to be for old retirees lol. I can just imagine these old basterds getting round in there fully boosted cars holding drags on fridays lol.
  19. lol any one know who did the drive by my house in a tiny little court in frankston (they were in a grey skyline)? wife says they had a long hard look at my car. dunno if this is good or bad. bit sus as they drove off when she came out.

  21. dunno about resetting the ecu brother ive got a Greddy emanage ultimate.... what will happen if the ecu is reset? isnt the Greddy a piggy back system and alters the air fuel and ignition according to what its fed from the stock ecu? im no guru but i dunno what will happen. Will it reset my Greddy? so many unknowns lol.
  22. Hey guys just thought for any of you that have experienced something like this and couldnt find the problem here is something els for you to check over. I dont get much time to drive or work on my car these days, most of the time its on a saturday. So being saturday yesterday i took it for a drive and for awhile now ive had a few issues while driving it and the problem seemed to be getting worse over time and i could only notice it little by little because of the time difference between drives. Any way half way to my destination i lost alot of power and the car kept stalling when my foot wasn't on the accelorator (and this is bad because half way through an intersection i would loose breaks and power steering lol slip it back into Neutral turn key and have to accelerate). Lucky for me I had a spare set of plugs sitting in my glove box from ages ago, i thought maybe i had lost a cylinder or something because of all the black smoke that was comming out (just a guess maybe unburnt fuel?). so i got to my brothers house and i asked him for his tool kit and i began changing my plugs 1 hour it took me, and then while putting every thing back together i noticed a crack on the pipe that runs across coil pack cover its quite fat and only goes from one inlet to one outlet directly on ither side of the coil pack cover. the crack was about 6 cm long from the beginning of the left and side all the way round to just past the first corner. lol me being the bush machanic i am i found a quick fix. some brown packing tape, taped the abolute sh!t out of it and put it back on. took the car for a drive and it drive like it was brand spanking new. So if you have any thing like this, where your car is lacking power, is bellowing black smoke, missfiring, and stalling when your foot isn't on the accerlator, It might be something as simple as a vacuum leak. oh and before i forget my plugs still had great points on them but oh well.... if any one knows of the pipe im talking about please add a picture for me thanks in advance.
