cheers Dave nah no paint on them, but im going to have to pull them all out i think.. yesterday while trial fitting the juns i noticed that the stamped numbers on the caps were a bit mixed and matched.. and the cams seemed really tight to turn, even the standard ones that were fitted. sooo im guessing they line hone them to make sure there true, soo will probably organise that and get the springs tested at the same time would be easier and probably cheaper to get a workshop to set this head up, but after some of the things ive had happen here in perth im straight up sick of trusting our workshops!!

Gday guys Stripped a spring and retainer out of a head that i bought.. was told they are tomei springs in the head, but cant seem to find out what retainers these are.. was hoping someone could confirm? im planning on taking the springs to a head specialist and getting him to test them and hopefully confirm they will be ok for 10.8mm lift thanks in advance

Ok i think this head had 280 cams before.. and the fella i bought it off had standard cams installed and shimmed in, could it be they machined the retainers down so a standard 2.3mmish shim could be used? looking at it the retainer is quite deep. would really be interested to know what retainers they are. sorry to4 didnt really understand how i should measure the buckets.. from the cam bearing to the lifter? cheers for your help mate!

ok pulled a cam out and it looks like this head has already been modified to allow for big cams.. without pulling the retainers out could someone confirm these are standard retainers? and does anyone know the measurements of the standard buckets? just to make sure the ones i have are standard.. heres some pics pic of bucket with a shim inside

yeah sweet.. ive got tomei springs, im just trying to find out what model they are now though.. as they came in the head i bought Another thing i was thinking is with such a high lift am i going to have problems with valve to piston contact? im using acl slugs thanks to4gtr.. ive used supertech before so i'll chase up see what the buckets are worth, its more of an availabilty thing im worried about! if anyone has found any other brands that have worked for them, i would be stoked to hear from you! i may end up selling/swapping these cams for smaller versions if this gets too hard

through some research it seems like if im going to change buckets i'll have to use tomei items.. is there a suitable product in aus i can use? is it completely neccasary for me to use the titanium retainers? will the standard work?

Hey guys just picked up a set of jun 272 10.8 lift for my gtr, i thought they were slightly less lift but after checking model numbers.. i found they were 10.8s model numbers 1004m-n101r 1004m-n201r just wanna know what other modifications will need to be done to fit them and wether they will suit my needs or not.. so ive got all the info before i go see my head machinist rb26dett gt3582r 1.06 exhaust forged bottom end head has tomei valve springs and guides trying to reach the 400kw mark with a gt35 thanks

thanks for the replys champ what about these? Tomei Procam for R32/R33 GTR RB26DETT IN: 270 Degrees, EX: 270 Degrees, Lift: 10.25mm and does anyone know if id need to modify the head any more to fit these?

Head has mild port and polish, tomei phospor guides and tomei valve springs and head is off so no probs getting modded to suit the cams now
