  1. Ive got 2 spare blocks.. the problem is i just waited ages and spent a bucket load on machining..
  2. Yeah im hearin ya.. but im thinking if someone confirms that there is no oil gallerys on the exhaust side of the block, then i'll probably use it. the cracks are nowhere near the bores, and considering they go from the bolt hole to the water jacket they cant go any further..was more worried about oil seeping into the cooling system.
  3. anything guys?
  4. Gday guys Just got my block back from the machinist its had torque plate hone decked acid dipped line bored and i was out doing the ring gaps and noticed two hairline crack from the bolt hole to the water jackets on the exhaust side of the block.. now from what i know the oil feed is all on the intake side of the block and drains to the exhaust side after a lot of searching ive found this to be a common problem, but only seems to be an issue when its on the intake side, due to oil mixing from the feeds to the water gallery..ive spent a lot on this block in machining and really dont like the idea of doing it again... what do yas think? also i read something about using the loctite 2 part epoxy to build up the water gallerys? cheers JT

  8. Nah Dave is his dad. I dont think there is a need for bad trader, turbo serial is 700177-5014 both dom and his dad were great to deal with apart from this.. And i believe he was unknown to the fact that he had bought a gt30 instead of a gt35, and i did ask his dad to get dominic to call me which never happened, im not going to pursue it, realistically whats he gonna do? buy a gt35 and do a swapover.. NOT likely.. instead i will sell the gt30 and buy a gt35 brand new from mtq like i should have in the first place hahah just dissapointed is all.
  9. Dissapointed.. Bought this kit and turned out the turbo is not as advertised, turbo is a gt30.. seller doesnt return calls and all i get is a "I bought it of a respectable member from calaisturbo.com" and "i paid $3500" for it. Stooged.that is all

  13. hey guys looking for a MLS head gasket to suit 87mm bore and also rb27dett arp head studs not in a real hurry, so if anyone has some they want to get rid of shoot me a pm otherwise i'll buy them from a supplier when i need them cheers
  14. Just curious.. what is your suggestions for tightening it? without taking the aircon out and using a 3/4 inch gun?
  15. I have one here in perth, would need some damage to the chamber welded and faced.. but would probably reccomend a recon to any used rb26 head anyway from what i know the guides in them can fail, causing massive engine damage! pm me if your interested
  16. poor state of tune? standard ecu.. lower than standard compression.. standard size turbos
  17. i had collected a fair bit of the parts needed to do a single conversion but was waiting on a turbo and more money, so made the fatal decision to run in the engine with standard turbs! as you can see this decision proved very expensive HAHAHAH (If you dont laugh, you cry) damn to make this decision even harder.. cant get the acl slugs for 3 weeks!! so that puts a halt on the machining too:(
  18. im not 100% sure that mine was caused my ceramic ingestion but! i was running standard turbos on a forged engine, standard ecu injectors the whole lot and when the turbo popped this was the result. a lot of people have had this happen!
  19. I'll get some more pics of the sides of the pistons tonight.. it was a rear turbo that dropped the ceramic wheel and only number 4 and 6 pistons were damaged, ive seen a fair bit of information around the place about guys damaging bores and pistons from ceramic ingestion. and the bores do have some slight marks but i have 2x spare 86.mm blocks here to work with, so thats not an issue
