Hey guys Ok so a set of standard turbos popped on my freshly built rb26 and i have some damage to 2x pistons 1 piston is destroyed, ive added a pic to serve as a warning to anyone running there fresh engine in on standard turbs:( the one that is completely stuffed was number 6 the other one is number 4.. do you think number 4 could be cleaned up? i have an option to get another supertech piston from the states for around $315 or i can get a set of acl race series for under $800. what would you do? taking into consideration that ive only just spent a huge amount of cash on this engine!! and now ive gotta do it again!

Hey guys Looking at getting a set of ACL forged pistons for an rb26dett, was hoping to get some opinions on the pistons and also the ring packs they come with. They will be used with eagle H beams and are replacing a set of supertech forged slugs that went kaboom after a standard ceramic turbo let go:( expected power output 450-480hp. cheers

no restricter in the line.. so would assume around 14psi.

Hey guys i had a standard turbo fail on a 1200km old built bottom end:( i know there is only a small amount of engine failures due too the turbo's failing, so i thought id share some pics of what happened to my engine after the turbo let go.. now not a 100%sure this was caused by the turbo failure or wether this is what caused the turbo failure lol! but i know one thing"if ya dont laugh,you'll cry" engine details RB26DETT supertech forged pistons the standards were only on there for run in, as i planned to go big single t04z, but money wasnt there at the time..

i learnt the hard way too champ:( my engine assembler put the bastard together without getting it fitted,had to dissassemble the engine and get the crank machined. johnny

gucia i had the same problem after i cleaned the throttles. when i cleaned them i removed the butterflies on 1 of the throttles. when i put them back in i didnt check to see wether i could see light through the throttles.and there for had a high idle ie.1300-1400 disconnect your throttle rods and make sure the throttle levers are hitting the bumpstop. cheers johnny ps.it is a absolute mongrel of a job to remove the plenum to get the throttles back out

when you cleaned the throttle butterflys did you make sure you could not see any light through them when you put them back in? had that problem with mine after i cleaned them i had to take the plenum off to re adjust the throttles. johnny

just checked the box in the boot and now im getting no flashes when ignition is on. do i have to reset a comp or battery or something? johnny \
