  1. So i went to CRD today. Did not end up doing the turbo change because they talked me out of it, saying all it will do is shift the power band further up in the rev range. The fuel pump was installed very nicely. I supplied the pump and they added a "sock" that slips into the pump making it the same diameter as the stock pump. Took 3 hrs though coz the walbro pump had everything opposite. The wires on the pump had to be switched and hoses had to be switched i think. In the end it was installed. I have to say, not very happy about the build of the walbro. Cost me $95. Tune will be on Friday as Jim is still overseas. Turbo will be for sale soon, just thinking about keeping it as a spare. If theres interested i would probably sell. It will come with elbow that has nipple attached for actuator. Turbo is R33 Series 1. CRD said its in good condition. You can ask them if in doubt
  2. Ye hopefully i wont get roughted. Im gonna be there though through the whole thing.
  3. Just an update. I have regapped some NGK BKR7E copper plugs, problem has gone. It also feels alot smoother idling and going thru the revs. Changing oil this afternoon, and im going to crd tomorrow for the turbo change and all. And the followng day, a tune. Thanks for those who have helped. Appreciate it
  4. Is there any guide to getting to the spark plugs on an rb20? Ive found the Rb25 Tutorial, would that be similar or more things to take off. I had a look at the engine bay, and the only way i can figure out to get to the spark plugs is to take the crossover pipe and all the hoses that are associated with it, so that it can be removed. Then the plate and so on
  5. hey mate, can u still hear the turbo spool, or is it very quiet?
  6. Did u use the remap CEFF1E is providing?
  7. Is it similar procedure for the rb20?
  8. Did u get the ecu remapped or different ecu/pggyback?
  9. i rekon u would be disappointed with the r32 rb20. Id either keep saving for the gtr or get the r33 rb25 as its easier to get power out of than the rb20, unless ofcourse u like the look of the r32 like me
  10. These seem to be the best suspension setup for the money: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...0&start=300
  11. The Hks one is not as quiet as the name suggests judging by previous posts ive read
  12. I think the RX7 suits nicely for both styles. Cant say the same for the Supra though
  13. Ok, Emissions wise (hopefully i only have to do noise test), stock is the only option?
  14. Thanks BLK33T I have got a Fujitsibo muffler which was given by the previous owner as a spare. How would that go noise wise. Its got Jasma on it, so its approved in Japan.
  15. Well my driving record was clean until now. So am i gonna get fined and demerit points taken off if i dont pass first go? Do u think that EPA will be testing for pollution even though the police officer only mentioned noise test? Thanks
  16. So can someone give me advice on this. The advice the cop gave me doesnt seem to relate to the rules at all. Putting silencer on for epa test, dont think that can be done. Pod filter in enclosure with fmic, dont think thats correct either.
  17. 180kw is the average result from the rb20 dyno results thread. So i rekon its possible. Im probably gonna have to postpone this tune, as i have to resolve the defects i got yesterday I dont believe i need a full ecu, as i dont want results over 200kw
  18. 4th of March, i already have Iridiums and Oil change is coming up, so that will be done next week. I think my plugs need to be regapped though to .8mm as i get some hesitation at 5000+rpm Ive currently got full 3" Xforce exhaust, fmic, catco cat and Apexi Pod
  19. I got defected as well today for pod filter and exhaust noise, and the rear tyres. Im supposed to be getting a letter from the EPA and have to go to the inspection station for tests. Any idea if there gonna test for pollution, or just db level? The cop suggested to get a silencer, and said that i can make a custom pod enclosure, as long as its fully enclosed. I however have an Apexi ECV, will this work at reducing the noise level, as its installed by previous owner, but the controller isnt( i have it lying around though)? Thanks
  20. Arent remaps like $500+?
  21. Thanks for the detailed response GTST, appreciate it. I will be able to install the safc. Nipple has been attached to the elbow, so thats ready to go. Walbro pump will be installed by them too for $100 they said. Gaskets, bolts, vacuum hoses im willing to pay as install cant be done without them. Im prepared for the extra couple hundred dollars it may cost. CRD have agreed to replace the turbo and pump while i wait, and then bring it in the next day for a tune. So im very happy that they have let me do this, coz i want to be aprt of the whole tuning atmosphere and that. So u rekon 180kw is not acheiveable with the mods i have?
  22. hmm, wat is the more realistic price? Im willing to pay the average price, just dont want to pay above average. Ive called some more work shops, and the average seems to be the 400 mark for the turbo swap, 200 for SAFC tune
  23. What do you mean by that?
