These are just random thoughts on the topic 1. risk/cost vs reward? doing it for your average street car isn't worth it risk/cost wise for nissan? how many non-track GTRs actually blow and engine because of this? 2. probably because lots of race gtr's would get stripped and rebuilt regularly? cost and longevity aren't one of their concerns? getting threw a race as quick as they can are... hence probably why they also didn't have catch cans?!? less weight, less complexity and the greater risk but greater reward?? =P where as if you track your GTR you want to do everything possible with regards to preventing something from exploding on you (that normally costs less) than rebuilding your whole engine!! 3. So what about when you are running 24psi, holding it at over 7,000 rpm constantly for (insert random number of seconds here) seconds? your not accelerating right? therefor the oil will have the same momentum/inertia as the car and flow with gravity towards your pickup... but if there is no oil getting back down to your bottom end (for pressure/flow reasons) what will it pick up?? its fine to say under conditions where you accelerate at over 1g things might happen? but for how long will you be accelerating that hard??? long enough to drain all the oil thats in your sump baffels etc?? all of his arguments cited acceleration... how many of the broken track GTRs you know about died because of oil starvation under acceleration ?? i know mine didn't, it was continuous high revs (and a failed nissan part )... i dont know if its just me, but his acceleration logic just doesnt privide a compelling enough argument for me to not do these mods! (of course my head drain wont feed into the back of the sump but the side)

Hey quick update, went in last week on tuesday andwas supposed to get a call tues/wed last week finalising stuff... didn't happen, so went in today to harass them again and found out the guy digitising the stuff was the hold up, after 20 mins of stuffing round i was given his name and addy and went and saw him!! he had put it in "the too hard pile" and forgot about it! basically he couldn't understand the notes left for him. So we sat down for over an hour, got it all sorted, the logo on the front will be 8cm wide and the logo on the back about 22cm wide. Got shown around the area where it all happens etc seems pritty good, hopefully he'll finish of the design tomorrow morning and get a finalised quote sent off!! i dont think i'll have a top ready for this friday, but fingers crossed next friday i'll have the sample and if people are happy i'll start up a tread with details, pics and prices for you to order in! almost there people, not long now! =D

i know there was at least a syncro change from 32 -> 33... perhaps talk to someone like PPG (out your way) that might be able to get you first 3 gears, im not sure if you'll be able to buy them individualy as a stock item (but i'd presume you would have to some how) however it'll just be easier to replace 1-3 as the gears are actually press fitted on note: i know you can get individual gears from OSG threw one of the SAU traders (slide i think)... but that'd cost u $$ edit: also boxes can differ in gear ratios big time... rb20 -> rb25 ->rb26 are all different etc

yeah, mebe a few of us can get together and watch a race + beer... but if you guys are anything like me, u'd hate people talking during the race!! if your there to watch F1, sit down shut up and watch as you like to be really involved in the race.. if its just on in the background while people are doing other stuff its not worth doing imo! tho add breaks are for talking =D so im not sure where we could do it, mebe at the rosemont on a sunday for one of the earlier races, or at someones house if they are game (plus have big tv, awsome sound system and comfy seats)

actual gear? or the syncro? u'd be looking at couple of 1000 for a gear replacment (labour alone will be up around $1500, plus mebe another $500-700 for a single gear)
