from what i can gather from chris rodgers and george from adelaide pro sound, he was still getting quotes on his alarm =( hope insurance covers it, most times they state that it HAS to have an alarm or theft isnt coverd =( gl in finding it trav!! hope it turns up soon and un-injured for you!!!

picked my car up at about 5pm today.. pulled over by the cops for the first time around at 9pm (no defect thank god!!) "the reason we pulled you over is because your licence plates dont exist"... doh!! =P mum was in the car at the time, and i just laughed.. was all good, the cops were pritty cool about it all *phew*

hrmmm.. billion and linksys have been hiddious for us recently, sooooo many warranties (even my own personal linksys is making the hiss of death) so far netgear seems solid were going to trial open networks stuff

if your looking for a "non-defectable" setup (people may argue there is no such thing in sa =P) you may not want to run these. correct me if i'm wrong, but they are insta-defect if spotted?

Vista is shit, everything run slower, it rapes your HDDs, heaps of software isnt compatible, heaps of hardware isnt either, it has massive bugs (like loosing control pannel and desktop settings) oh, and just like XP it suffers from the memory hole issue, so the only real way to get more than 3gb of ram is to goto 64bit windows vista home basic (VHB) = no areo gui, can play dvds, basic networking vista home premium (VHP) = areo gui, can play dvds, basic networking vista business (VB) = areo gui, no native dvd playback, advanced networking vista ultimate (VU) = the works (its got it all) but sounds too much like a holden gathering for me.... stick with XP and its alll good!! =) if you want me to explain the memory hole i can... its a bit f**ked up, but im sure you will get the idea (or lack of =P) as far as getting a gamin PC, get the fastest possible graphics card you can afford (either 8800gts 320 or 8600gts), ram speed is irelivant provided its 667 or better (CAS latency = no performance differance on a core2 or amd) try for 2, but 1 gig with XP is fine, if you can afford a core 2 duo get one, if not AMDs cpus are good for what you pay for em these days, dont skimp on PSU (but avoid antec smart power range) ruf prices would be something like E6320 $280 + gigabyte mobo $230 + 1gb corsair 130 + 8600gt $330 + antec case/psu $190 = $1160 (im sure people could point you to cheaper prices... hence why its ruf =P)

i guessed as much.... possibly the fact that the motherboard hasent been made for 5+ years is a good indication that someone is kidding retail side of things in the computer industry is sooo tough these days!!! =( and customers have to really know their stuff or else!! simple things i pick up all the time, like: the corsair 620W PSU heslo got (if purchsed from the place he linked to) only came with a 1 year waranty, as opposed to the 5 years it is supposed to... but then again, the dollar is everything to most people... i'll just go whimper in a corner to myself... =P

Hindley st computer = no longer in business (didn't pay taxes, and government took all their monies) =( but good for us, less competition on the street =) also now that the guy that owned 'computers r us' closed down and opened MSY were the only company on hindley street =)
