Lol, the mrs has had corrupt video files and corrupt excel spreadsheets in the last 3 months.. I'm like wtf do you even do to cause this? Do this, if error still occurs change boot device #1 to your hard disk

Does it switch off once you're in the Bios? if so then looks screwed again. If not.. check you can see your hard drive information in it and check that it's still set as your first boot device and make sure you've got no USB devices/Headphones plugged in (..yes I've seen headphones stop boot before)

yeh i got mine yesterday as well.. you are meant to either get 25/5 50/20 100/40 (download / upload) in megabits persecond. at the moment im on a reliable 36/1 and if the NBN is as shitty as people are telling me I just won't change.. if it aint broke don't fix it mentality

I'd rather give them the ultimatum of a end date and if they don't finish on time you're not paying for anything and picking the car up? try the next shop, rinse and repeat. If they agree on a timeframe they should meet it.
