i took a mate who know way more than me about skylines..he just bought a purple 33 GTR. He checked it out and signed off on it but im gonna organise an on site inspection
-
youre prob right, but its not a huge crack, just a hairline one..and i dont drive the car too hard anyway, i think i got it from too many kisses on the gutter lol
-
Hey guys, I got a prob with my front passenger rim on my 33. i thought the tyre somewhere had a leak as the tyre leaks air over about a month b4 i need to constantly reinflate it, so im always topping it up. i got it all checked out thinking it was the rubber, but they found a hairline crack in the actual rim. I have 18" ROH Drift R's on the car, and i dont really want to replace that 1 rim which will prob cost 500 bucks, but it looks like i have no choice, it must be fixed or it will always continue to leak. Is it possible to like get a tube put in just that wheel to fix it, as these type of wheels are tubeless..if thats the case id much rather pay 40 bucks than 500. any advice would be appreciated

its listed on Carizma..i was gonna import but i went down there and saw this car and i thought..this is it...so im going on Wed to organise it all
-
well the car is 34900 but the guy wants to get rid of it quickly and its already been complied so on road including rego and stamp duty is $35k, which i think is a pretty good deal. And it is stock except for the Tein suspension and a few Nismo exterior additions, like indicator covers and i think a Nismo kit, altho im not sure if that kit is stock.

Hey guys, im finally gonna achieve my dream which is to own an R34. Ive seen one that i want and im gonna go get it, but id like some advice first. THe car is a 98 GTT, done 40,000k's , its stock and i can get it onroad for $35k. Does this seem reasonable? ive seen the car and it appears in top condition but i want to cover all my bases b4 buying. Then i have to deal with selling my R33 lol. Any info would help

Hey guys, i need to get my 70k service done and im trying to find decent workshops around the doncaster/bulleen area. anybody know any good ones? Thanks
-
Bottom line is that the R33 IS illegal to drive on P plates. I went through the whole power to weight thing and yes the gtst may not be listed at vicroads, but it is illegal. I got the fine to prove it. However, most P platers dont really care and its really a grey area with the police. If you ever get pulled over, it really depends on the cop, whether they know anything about imports or not. If its a normal cop, it should be ok, as i havent had any trouble with them. If however u are pulled over by a TMU cop, chances are good that ur f**ked. If youre driving sensibly and not being a d**khead, then you shouldnt have too many dramas driving an r33 on P's. And it also pays to stay away from heavy cop populated areas as well. Definately stay away from Knox.

Try Zero Autosports in the city, they can get you one

I got done at Knox too. prob by the same guy. I have a totally stock R33 and i got done p/w. He pulled out the black book too and i knew i was gone. They were gonna let me off as they were normal cops, but then an unmarked TMU cruising the carpark pulled in and said "book him" so i was fined. Told me to garage the car till i was 21 or sell it. No way hose. I since havent gone back to Knox, and that was a yr ago. Less than a month till im off P's...cant wait. Been pulled over again, but got let off

I want the kit for the gtst. As far as i know theres only 2 kits, one for the gtst and one for gtr. All the pics ive seen of the kit on 33's look really low, but that might be coz all of the cars have been lowered. I dont want anything that wont allow me to go over speed bumps
-
im considering getting the veilside kit. what do u guys think of it/have any of u seen it. is it too low to the ground when its on that itll be cop bait?
-
got to Altitude. always has good choons on there. Good dance music places are few and far between in melb. u have to know where to go. Bass Station also is another one if u like hard stuff.
-
It all depends on the cop. I got done last year for p/w and i wasnt doing anything wrong, just finding parking at knox. Dont ever go to knox city on ur p's if u drive a skyline. they have a TMU unit stationed there. The cops told me id have to garage my car or sell it, but if i was caught, theyd get me. Since then ive been pulled over once more and it was non tmu, so i got off without anything, but now i try to avoid hotspots for cops at night as ive got 2 months left on p's and i cant afford to lose any more points. But i still s**t myself when i see those blue Tmu cars around and the normal TMU cars. But like i said, it depends on the cop. If theyre in a bad mood, doesnt matter what u do, theyll get u for something. I dont drive like a dickhead and i obey road rules and it seems to be working so far. Only a couple of months to go

I got pulled over near there last nite. i was heading home along toorak rd. i went past chaps and saw the numerous blue and reds flashing then one of them turned out of chaps onto toorak and pulled me over. I was bloody lucky the guy was a normal cop, not TMU. He checked my car, checked under the bonnet, got nothing illegal under there, no bigass zorst, pretty much didnt have a leg to stand on in terms of defecting me. I was praying he didnt know about power to weight, as im still on my p's. The cop took my license away for like 10 mins then came back and asked what i was doing in the area. i told him i was heading home from St Kilda and he just said "on your way". I tell you, i never breathed a bigger sigh of relief in my life! I think ill be avoiding the area for a few weeks until this blitz has cooled down.

This is true. i wasnt speeding, i was doing the limit and a split second lapse in concentration is all it took. the bmw i hit had less damage than me and still managed to cost like 10 grand to repair
-
yeah he had to swerve as the 4wd came over the crest and was in the middle of the road and it was a 2 lane road. And no the driver didnt stop apparently and they didnt get the number plate. Last nite i was stuck in traffic in hoddle st and had a 4wd behind me and the traffic moves bit by bit and i heard this screech behind me and saw the 4wd stop barely an inch from the back of my car. because of that guys lack of concentration in traffic, i almost lost the back end of my car. My heart was hammering.

Hey guys, i thought id put up this post because of something that happened a couple of days ago. A good mate of mine recently had $18k to blow on a car and i promptly told him to get a Skyline when he asked what car could he get in that price range that was reliable. After weeks of looking he bought a beautiful red r33 ser 1 gtst and he was thrilled. He said it was the best car hes ever driven. On saturday he had a bad accident and wrote off his car. He only had it on the road for about a month when this happened. The accident was the result of driving on semi country roads (ie Kangaroo Ground) and apparently a 4wd was flying up the middle of the road and he had to swerve to avoid it. That was when he lost control at speed and hit a tree, writing off his car. Thankfully he is alright and only sustained a broken leg as it couldve been worse. Its terrible when accidents like this happen, especially to ppl with such beautiful cars, and im urging people to take it a bit easier on the roads. I myself have had an accident in my Skyline, and while it wasnt written off (luckily) it really made me appreciate how fragile these cars can be, and how expensive it is to repair them (and how hard it is to get parts, esp for a ser 2!) While it wasnt my friends fault in this accident, i am aware of other ppl on this forum having bad accidents and its worrying. I sometimes see crashed cars on the way back home from uni and sometimes they are imports. It creates a bad image of import drivers in general and as a consequence, i myself have been pulled over 3 times in the last couple of weeks because of "the car that you drive" (cops words) So for your own safety and the continued exitence of your own cars, please be careful on the roads guys. The odd blurt every now and then is ok, but dont do anything stupid when u know u shouldnt. Sorry for the long rant but i had to get this off my chest. Thanx guys

hey guys, ive got a mate in the UK who wants to buy one of those monitors that shows u G force and Qtr Mile times. He wants to know if its cheaper to buy here as opposed to over there. I dunno much about those monitors or where to get them so if anyone knows about them or where to get them or more importantly how much they are, and could let me know it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks guys for the info. its still a while off yet but ive def got some stuff to think about.

does anyone know the laws regarding legal ride height? im thinking of getting just a bodykit put on without lowering and from the pics ive seen itll be pretty low and i dont want to get defected every five minutes for being too low.
