  3. OH MY son of rajab! I CANNOT BELEIVE IT HAS TAKEN ME THIS LONG TO FIND THIS THREAD! I have already been through a box of tissues and only up to pg 20! Pics of my biatch will be up soon..
  4. It really does need a diet.. it just feels like it should be nimblier.. I went for the even heavier 4 door ..*sigh*.. the price you pay for being diff.. dosnt help the new P plater laws have come in cos its got a 25DE too
  5. Bonnet - you could go a GTR bonnet.. their aluminium.. but.. then you look like one of those wankers that try mate their GTS-T's look like GTR's.. but its another option.. Bootlid? 15Kg? Im not sure about that (that seems like a fair bit! my one seems like its feather weight).. thats a pretty heavy bootlid!!! Take the spoiler off.. theres a saving there.. And im not sure that there are 50Kg's of sound deadining either.. But as you said.. it is a saving there too.. Another thing.. is swap front bars.. The stock ones have that extremly wankey motorised lip.. Take that off with the motor and you dropped ~15Kg again.. IF you wanna go REAL hardcore.. Tatanium.. it's expensive as all buggery.. (and yes.. I will be selling my sperm at the sperm bank to afford this).. bit its LIGHT!.. See if you can find titanium exhausts.. easily drop another 20kg.. same with headers and intake piping.. For that price though.. you may aswell spend on performance mods..

  9. The thing about being an NA skyline driver.. is everyone wants to go you.. everything from BM's so S13's Copper S's.. cos they all want to take down a turbo Skyline.. but they dont know any better.. thinking your driving a turbo..
  10. This is the side.. of the piston.. (sorry it is blurry) but on the black graphite part there used to be a print of some sorts in the shape of a square standing on a corner i.e /\ \/
  11. This was taken out from cylinder 1 The diameter of the pison is 85.95mm The diameter of the bore is 86.05mm (standard bore is 86.0 - somone has been playing with toys they shouldnt of been!) On the face of the piston is has imprinted "STD" and a big "1" in the middle. Mean anything? the question I have is.. are these forgies? What brand?
  12. Nope.. because the job will be done properly this time.. With proper parts.. and tools.. So there is no need to hide it.. the will be done right this time..
  13. well.. its a warning about how dodgy some workshops' work is.. its a notice to be warey where and to whom you take your car to.. I mean this work was done at a workshop.. a workshop that didnt know a 20 head does not mate up with a 25 bottom end.. A workshop that used a wheetbox box and $2 gasket goo for a head gasket. So thats where the warning is.. This workshop is acctually considered as an "RB specialist".. It's not like Im pissed off about it at all.. Im enjoying it.. its an awesome project.. another excuse to get my hands dirty. And.. yes.. its got all these things wrong.. but in hindsite.. its still worth it.. There's nothing like the satisfaction.. What ever I do with it.. I wont end up in debit.. and thats why Im not so worried about it..
  14. Jump in.. with a light.. close the boot.. get a mate (you trust to open to boot after =P) to get a hose and pour water over the whole area..

  16. I thought I may aswell ask this here instead of starting a new thread.. the pistons have "STD" and a big "01" in a circle right in the middle of them.. The previous owner said it had forgies that did about 1000km.. now.. to me.. these look way older than that.. Anyone seen these markings before?
  17. It gets hot from many things.. your air box is near your exhaust.. can heat it up.. Its near your engine.. will definately warm the air around it.. its inside the engine bay.. temps in there can get quite warm! The ambient air temp.. How hard you drive it.. Your cooling system are working correctly.. If you are worried about keeping your intake air cooler.. run a Cold air intake.. i.e. run some piping out of the engine bay.. near the wheel arches.. stick a filter on the end of it.. and you will get colder air comming in.. LOL!.. Did I even answere the question?
  18. You loose backpreassure due to not having enough volumetric vacume (WOOO! I USED IT EUGENE! ) I silencer will do nothing besides add weight and make your car slightly quieter.. Only way you can get ur back preasure back.. is.. go to a smaller zorst..

After digging further into the situation I found: - Compression in each cylinder ranged from 80 to 170 psi. - The HEAD GASKET was made from A WHEETBIX BOX and cheap gasket goo (which was of course blown) - The galleries of the block and the cylinder didnt aline.. hence causing to the car to over heat. There was TWO Welsh plugs completely blown out of the head. - The cylinders were HITTING the cylinder head - The rings seem to be goneski as well.. ... Here is the scary part.. All this work was done by an "RB Specialist" The take home messege is dont trust any old work shop.. or do the work yourself! At least be 100% sure you know what the shop is doing.. and they are doing it correctly..

  22. Hay guys!.. I started off the forum with a my avatar as a photo of the front of the car.. Now I wanna change it.. I changed it in "My controls" and "my avatar" etc. In there.. it sais it has changed.. but when ever I post.. its still the old photo even though in "my avatar" its the new one.. I tryed posting without any avatar.. that worked fine.. Then put the new one up.. and the old one still pops up!.. its weird.. I left it for 24hrs for it to change.. and nothing its no biggie.. just curious.. cheers

  24. Go second hand brand and trusted.. Or save and get new trusted.. Or just keep stock.. Do you REALLY need aftermarket?
