  1. Suck squish bang blow Thanks clearing that up Eugene.. Heres a fantastic site.. www.howstuffworks.com Type what you are trying to understand.. (eg. automatic gearbox, combustion engine, turbo etc. etc. etc.) Quite clear and simple explinations and clear diagrams.. wikipedia is also a good source.. aslong as some deadshit dosnt write it.. and its DEFINATELY a good idea to understand the basics before you do anything to your car.. so you know what happens.. why its better how it will change.. forums have a WORLD of information.. and missinformation.. Give it a few months and you will be a guru..
  2. People loose power because they go spastic on exhaut sizes. This increase of size creates a loss of back preassure. i.e.. Now this will most likely be a dodgy explination.. but ill give it a go: If you have a small exhaust.. the exhaust flow is restricted.. and there is too much volume of gas for the exhaust diameter.. causing it to slow down.. If your exhaust is the right size.. the gas will flow freely at a very rapid poit as it has reached it a point where everything flows at max velocity. Essentially.. the gass proppels and makes it self go faster through the exhaust. It accumilates speed throughout the exhaust and exists the car quickly, and effortlessly. If this is done correctly.. and at an optimum level.. GREAT gains are to be made (have heard of 25 dyno proved KW made by a cat back.. hi flow cat.. Headers and down pipe) If the exhaust is too big.. the gass kinda just lingers there.. dowsnt know what to do.. and has a slow rate. Hence.. loosing power BIGGER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER! 2.25 - 2.5" is usually the right size you want for an NA Suggestion 1) finish off your exhaust. with the lot. Mandrel bent etc. etc. In terms fo your gear box.. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WILL WORK FOR R34'S AND I DO NOT TAKE LIABILITY OF THIS. I am simply showing you information that already is there.. YES.. this is GHETTO mod.. YES.. that wire is probably usefull.. YES.. it probably causes damage..   6. Well what do you know? Picked up a NISMO cat back the other day.. Runs perfect.. metalic resonating is completely GONE Hope this helps someone sometime..

  8. Did some research into these a while ago.. Stock parts a quite expensive!.. Starion uses throttle body injection and the motors are best used as boat anchors. 110Kw on 12psi boost is a little shit. The injectors are $1200 each and common to fail on a regular basis.

  10. If you want a quick track car.. it may be best to on how to get the most out of the power you already have.. As said before.. -Oil cooler/feed etc. -Front mount.. -Full or semi slicks.. -Coilovers.. -Front and rear strut and sway bars.. -Let the engine breath and a full mandrel bent exhaust (not just cat back) and a hi flow cat and a better flowing dump pipe and exhaust mani -And strip th shit out of the car (or save weight ie. Carbon fiber bonnet, fiberglass front quarter pannels, Seats, exhaust as well as the usual stripping of non-essential interior parts).. -Diff.. -Short shift kit.. -A lightened flywheel is a good idea for a track car too.. -Brake pads and perhaps new disks All these enhance the car you have without going overboard on power.. theres no point in having power if you can't use it wisely.. so focus on using the power you already have in the best way.. and always use good fluids.. and replace frequently..
  11. I can vouch for that! Dad ticked up a R32 GTST with a 25DET t3/t4 ~250KW.. MY GOD! The extra 200KG make the GTS4 too heavy.. a well set up RWD will be just as quick and lighter.. Id like to see one in a rally.. somone to stop the EVO boys from taking all the titles.. Cant say I have ever been a fan of the subies.. their just too over rted for me.. suppose skylines are too.. but thats for good reason.. But.. I wish you all the best in your endevours.. and.. if theres anything you need a hand with.. give us a yell
  12. Quick point.. to Danzzigger and HR31Coupe.. I couldnt be bothered to read the R31 thread.. so i dotn know if i t was mentioned there.. but if you want to do a 5 stud conversion.. get a VL rear suspension brace.. You can also do this to the front one aswell.. They have a better suspension system AND 5 stud.. cheap as too.. Im with dazz on this too!.. If you need a hand.. give us a yell.. Id be MORE than happy to help.. =]

  14. Dang ... ... BTW.. I am all with you in saying that there is more to a car than just out right power.. In terms of power deliverly, an NA engine is so much more attractive.. And there is no point in building a car as the americans do - 36.7 Squillion Litre V8 that has absolutely hopeless at cornering and you are most likely going to die of body roll. Carners are the best bit in driving! =] Sounds like you got the whole thing planned.. And its definately not a bad way to spend 10K! .. you live life once.. you cant take money to the grave.. I say go for it.. (mind you itsvery easy for me to say it) In terms of weight.. thats no probs!.. Strip everything off it!.. Bonnet, Interior, Boot, ABS, Hicas, Doors, Air con, Front quarter pannels etc. etc. etc. But im just flapping my gums.. its your call.. you know how great it would be.. =]
  15. Good point.. I got coilovers.. and front strut bar.. and rear sway bar.. But its not a GTS ot GTS-T.. Its a GTS4 AND a 4 Door.. ..the price you pay for being unique.. I just may do a write up in the next comming weeks when I collect all the parts at once..
  16. MAN! Stop sitting in front of the computer and do it!! Dont be a sheep and go the piss easy turbo road!.. Every single Skyline owner/wants a skyline wants a turbo skyline! Some bloke pulled 150KW with just zorst and cams! Think of the possibilities! You could blow off 20DET's like nothing! 200KW is possible.. and 200 NA KW shits all over a 200KW turbo engine.. The amount of fun it would be! Rb25DE CVT head on a 10:1.. maby even 10.5:1 or 11:1 (thats REALLY pushing it) RB30 block is such a unique skyline! Can you bore 30 blocks out to something larger? Its what my plans are some time in a year or so..

  20. Hay guys!.. I hope this is the right section to post this in! I have a 4dr GTS4 R32 and it feels kinda.. well.. FAT. Question is.. What gains are to be made by stripping? And stripping what? I noticed the bonnet is freaking heavy! Anyone know the weight? OR what the the weight of a Carbon FIber bonnet? How much am I saving? That stupid front lip that slides down (what is the freaking point of it!?! Can you even put it down whilst drving? How?) How much weight do i save by ripping it out with the driving motor and going aftermarket front lip? Aftermarket fiberglass front guards.. worth the weight saving? Rear Seats? Weight? Does anyone have drag/circuite times/weights of items or stripped and un stripped cars to compair? If no one has any solid info.. I may do a write up.. Drag times while porky.. and after being anorexic. Kg. of each item etc. Would anyone be interested? Cheers in advance.. Cris..
