Staggy Rb25det 4wd Front Cut

Thats strange.. because I remeber cheaking the gear ratio's and both came up the same. I did this by holding one drive shaft entry point and turning the crank a full rotation. Both front diffs (from the 20DET and the 25DE) were the same. i.e both of them stoped at the same point. Could the ratio's be different between the 25DET and 25DE's? ATTESSA seams to engage and disengage fine. And the car drive like a normal RWD all other times. The driveline felt no different after the swap than before the swap. I reaf that by only doing this once. A very minute difference will be very pronounced at higher RPM and speed. Am i correct in saying this? -
After searching the Internet for hours and hours, just as many other of us have done already I have a great fear. The new GTR will be a worldwide sale. Does this mean the uniqueness of the GTR is going down the shitter? The GTR has always been a symbol of devoted performance. You buy a GTR for the performance car it is. You don’t buy a GTR to go to the shops and back in. Just like rich old bald men buying a Porsche for a "second coming" at life, will the GTR be the same? Will we see a GTR and say, a true performance car driven by someone who has a passion? Or simply just, "another old man trying to show he is still "down with it"? It is this uniqueness and rarity of the GTR that has always made it such an icon of performance. It’s the notion and the idea of the Godzilla that has catapulted it as a legend. It is this persona of Godzilla that makes a GTR so mean. Come October, every acne faced thirteen-year-old boy will be drooling over the new Skyline. Do you think half of them know what makes a GTR a GTR? Once the greater upper classes of the world click onto this growing phenomenon of “Godzilla”, M3’s will be traded in and Porsche’s sold for this car that is over-hyped, over advertised and over anticipated by the performance car fraternity. By making sales world wide, you strip the GTR of its status. It no longer becomes a performance brute. It no longer has its uniqueness. But rather, something of what the Rex’s have become, popular, common, and really, quite boring. It seems like such a waste. Something with such an iconic status that will become some roller coaster ride for someone who realises you can get supercar performance for half the price. I just think it’s a shame something so amazing will be stripped of everything that made it so great. The RB26DETT isn’t the only thing that dies with the R34 GTR

oh **** How badly does it damage? -
m3gtr - Its a fantastic outspeak on something so accepted within our growing community and a great comment on the population at large. But.. I think what you have failed to see is that, in Japan, Drifting has been around since the late 70's and early 80's. Here its pucked up since the very late 90's. We are still many years behinde the Japanese in so many respects to drifting. I love the notion of a few mates gathering together, and driving up to the local mountain pass/industrial area etc. to enhance their skills, share experiences and knowledge etc. on this strange motorsport. I beleive it is this key area that Australia has skipped out on. It is due to these very small groups of grass root drifters that involve their friends and family in drifting that make high class drifters so ideolised. I feel that because Australia has skipped this essential step we loose much of what drifting is all about. Going through Beer Barrons photo's of his trip to Japan i notice thats its this shared passion of motorsport and modification that brings people together. It is this notion of an "underground" society sheded in darkness in quiet areas of the city that make drifting what it is. Australia has taken very well to drifting. Going on 10 years now, many of us have taken it to heart. We have even put our own spin on it with ever increasing numbers of "traditional" aussie cars such as commies becoming involved in the drift events. But thats where it stops. The events. At times there is more emphasis made on sponsors, products, show girls and advertisement. Dont get me wrong, sponsorship is what elevates a sport to a large level. But thats not what we need, we missed that oh so essential "underground sport" phase that has made difting what it is. This notion of "underground sport" appeals to every single revv head imaginable. I think what the sport, spectators and entrants need to do is to simplify the sport to this minimalistic level so as to truely admire what the sport is about. It will take many years from now for the larger mass to accept this sport, but there is hope, and its very strong too. Similar to drifting, drag racing started out the same, at a grass rrots, underground level. Now look at it! Australia is a country full of petrol heads! Look at the V8's. One of the biggest days on the whole calendar is Bathurst. Everyone loves it. It is this already embedded passion australians have that will drive drfting to the same level as these other sports. Thats just my 2cs on it. I hope it acctually explores something truthful in this post.

Staggy Rb25det 4wd Front Cut

Wait.. Let me get this right. R32 GTS4 front diff will give better acceleration? I just completed a conversion in my 32 GTS4 and used a Stagea RB25DE and kept the staggy front diff. Is there anything wrong with that? If i was to swap the front gears from the staggy to the 32 gearing ill get better acc. ? Would this be why my Torque Split Guage reads a constant 6? or is that just rooted? -
Now.. from what I remeber.. There is a place in Camberra, called J Racing that I THINK to packages.. if not them.. I also think its DMD that might also do it.. not entirely sure. Theres a fleet of Purple/pink drift cars, one of which has an R34 face. Im sure someone very soon will elaborate. You could always get a front cut and use the pannels.. See if you can pick up a front cut without an engine (possible?) and just use the bodywork. Or the cheapest front cut, sell engine and gear box that way you cover some costs and then just use the guards etc. You could always get aftermarket wide body guards, mould the head lights and just slap on a R34 front bar. Just for some info: R32 Track Front [in. (mm)] 58.3 (1480) R34 Track Front [in. (mm)] 58.3 (1480)

I realise this.. but its much easier to extract power out of the GTiR SR than a 180 SR. And for the price range. Id much rather a GTiR than a 180. Although, that depends on what Rsktker wants to do with his vehicle. So what do you want to do with the car? Tell us that.. and we can direct you as much as possible toward which car will best suite your needs

I transplanted a Rb25DE from a 4wd Stagea into my R32 GTS4 which had an RB20DET. It has a stock 20DET exhaust. The only difference is that I used an R33 connector pipe from a RB25DE to connect the headers to the stock RB20DET exhaust.
-
If it helps.. GTS4 Gear boxes have only slighter shorter gearing from 1st to 4th
-
Here is a top notch idea! you have 23K? GTR 25DET Skyline GTiR EVO etc... I realise this does nto answere the question. But why bother spending time and effort and taking the risk of modding a car to 250kw when you do it FAR easier in one of those cars within the budget and without the massive black hole of "what if something poops itself?". Its a far safer bet modding a GTR (which is a far better car than both mentioned cars (IMO) to reach 250kw. Thats my 2c btw.. I agree.. RB20DET is a bit of a waste..not really worth ur time when for your effort, time, money and for bang for ur buck.. 25det

YES!.. But without the sexual exhaust note.. Got my papa bear to drive it today.. its freakin LOUD!.. the metalic resonating is just like the one you showed.. but just much louder and somehow.. nastier sounding.. I take it by the replies that its just a normal sound? It has a stock RB20DET exhaust with the slightly bent R33 25DE connector from the headers to the exhaust flange. Does anyone see anything wrong with this? Much appreciated sound clip

Jap plates are so freakin sexy!
-
to call people? So.. using this logic.. you have the vests to call people?
-
Well Id be inclined to say the ATTESSA would be quickest off the line and would most likely assist in a quicker 1/4 mile time
-
And hows the droning? Pissing you off yet?
-
But why would the resonating be between 2-3 K? If it was the G-box.. wouldnt it be throughout all RMP range? And Im pretty sure its from the engine. When we opened the G-box it was in pretty good nik. It seems like its comming from the engine and all simptoms seem to point that way. Thats why Im so freaked out about it. Much appreciated brother bear!

Man.. an S2k is a pretty freakin quick car! This is no comment on P platers or your driving skills, but wouldnt it be better to buy say an R31 or 32 beater.. learn how to drive, the dynamics and skills involved in controlling a car, better yourself as a driver, learn about mechanics and better yourself at that too before you buy a really expensive car? Chances are.. something will go wrong.. perhaps not an accident.. but scrapes.. scratches etc. will be many. Id rather scratch an already beaten up 31 than a crystal clean S2K just because of a simple mistake. Or am I just anal?
-
Yes.. I too am interested in this as i have the same problem.. or perhaps is it just a skyline attribute? It happens over about 110Km/h and is fine if there is more than about 15% - 20% throttle but bellow that it vibrates..
-
Unfortunately I cannot import a sound clip from my phone to my copmputer. Is there anywhere I can hear a 25DE engine? On a video or sound clip to compair the two? As per before.. just sounds like metal clipping.
-
Done that.. Exhaust is fine. Nothing rattles.. no loose bolts.. only thing I found once I took off the sheilding was a small rock. Muffler and cat have no noise at all. Ill try getting a sound file
-
Hey guys. I just transplanted an RB25DE (with VCT) in my S. This new engine under load has a strange metallic noise around two and three thou RPM, more like two metal parts being in contact and resonating. It always occurs around 2-3K then goes away. It seems to settle down slightly when the engine reaches operating temp. The noise is the same even with VCT solenoid disconnected. The noise appears to be coming from the exhaust, yet I removed all shields and is still there. Noise could transmit though from the engine. The spark plugs are very clean and white, so there seems to be no valve problems. The car accelerates and idles very smoothly. Fuel consumption for this new engine seems to be higher than what it should be (although these issues may not be linked). Any ideas to what it may be and how to fix? Thanks in advance =]

Well.. To all you nay sayers.. Its been completed.. 4 Door R32 GTS4 with RB25DE.. and it runs as sweet as. BTW. Insurance did go down. Bot by much. but down none the less..
