  1. change the cat back on just about any early mazda (familia gtr) and the boost raises to the point of boost cut, changing exhaust definatley can have an effect on boost, it all depends on how restrictive it is to begin with, subaru's are also prone to overboosting with str8 through turbo back exhausts.
  2. i'll check my refference, but as an example a r34 na will take 75hp without any timing adjustment with the right jet sizes (i find the recommended jet sizes run way too rich), the rb20 turbo should take 75-100hp providing you have sufficient fuel pressure.
  3. i dont run cp's @ 4 thou, would never consider it especially on a streeter there is definately room to tighten them up. All our premium engines are are hone to fit, ie each bore is finished to suit each piston especially as some of clearances we run are half what you posted on certain pistons..
  4. nah the ramp afr's are pretty much ok, remmeber there is a lag between engine and tail pipe and a cat, so i reckon its closer to 13:1 and 5-6psi.
  5. somethings going on with that power curve .
  6. remmeber compare apples to apples ie year model to year model, the early evo stuff is pretty clunky also. Most of what you post is tweakable with aftermarket mapping gear. lean spool = R32 gtr ecu feature active(knock monitered) ignition mapping on individual load points= r32 gtr std ecu feature total knock count ingition map trim= r32 gtr std ecu feature mivec= nissan fail not till much later the mitsy stuff of the same era (1990) was no better but if your comparing evo 6 onwards than yes they are a better beast. to be honest the best stuff around is the holden (ls) and ford (fg) gear there is more features than nissan and mitsy combined (current r35 excluded)
  7. they tend to drop boost pretty badly the TS dual stages.
  8. if anything they will be 7mm once the lobes wipe off pretty sure the hks 9mm's are ok, provided the std springs are still ok (not gone soft like many rb25's)
  9. um nissan has had all that for decades also...
  10. if your 350z has wooped typhoons the other guy is probably not trying. the 350z is slower over 400m and the 350z is slower around all tracks i've checked. A flash and tickle on a F6 gives around 50-70rwkw and 12's.... a flash and tickle on a 350z gives you a light pocket and a sore ass. The 370z however seems to be quite a step up, but is still hell hard to make good power.
  11. i would say the opposite if you want to waste alot of money for just the sound go ahead (i do ) but bang for buck a turbo come will almost always come up better. i tune alot of ls1 and ls2's (smattering of modular fords 5.4) and quite a few xr6t's and the xr6s shit on the v8's for dollar per kw. good case is the std FG f6 laps lineball with a W427 VE commodore... w427 is nearly triple the price
  12. i think you should check out a FG's F6 lap times..... you will be shocked.
  13. dude you are smoking some good shit..... i have 4 v8's in my possesion (including a bbc) atm so no im not biased either way but your argument is moot / invalid. yes cool but the V8's are eclipsed by cooler engines like V10 V16 V12's radials are the coolest.... best is purely in the eye of the beholder.
  14. f**k me sideways, quite a novel idea. seriously take it to some one that knows what they are doing if you dont know what goes where or what material to use for hosing etc then you should not really be playing with it.
  15. yeah ill post it up and pm you.
  16. put the magic mushrooms down... NOW.
  17. loctite epoxy
  18. sorry you messaged ctas phone and she was at home with it on silent i was at the shop tuning one of streetforced's new engines awaiting your call if you still havent found one let me know on my number.
  19. the group is free if you buy a datalogit.
  20. FG F6 will be my new car. Cant compare a R34 and an F6... the F6 is far superior even though i have a soft spot for the R34 (hoping to buying one for my brother in a few weeks). Its an easy choice, laps faster than an evo X at phillip island stock and way quicker than a r34 so none of this falcoons dont handle..
  21. its fine unless you fitted the wrong plugs.
  22. Its pretty common for the rear housing on them to cause the drop but an actuator will help it a little, we have tried all sorts of fixes but with the 0.63 rear you have it will never hold to redline.
  23. camtech half the price and we ahave had great results, insider tip http://www.camtechcams.com.au/niss_6cyl_rb20rb25nonvct.html
  24. 114 Hammond Road Dandenong VIC 3175 (03) 97919360 be sure to tell him we sent you, he will look after you.
  25. we use al just round the corner, he just did a road legal (passed all engineering and epa limits) system for us nice high flow for big power too, well priced too als custom exhaust on hammond road (best exhaust guy ive used in vic) does alot of custom headers and stuff for big dollar cars. (saw a genuine gt500 muzzie there the other day)
