  1. i limited the boost to around 12psi on the v-spec as it still had stock front pipe filter etc, timing was around 24-26 degree mark at 8000.
  2. the ecu is only looking for a voltage so sensor type/size is not an issue when swapping out the r33 for the r32.
  3. i did another one yesterday pretty much stock GTR with catback. It was a late model R33 Vspec and i gaurantee all the sensors etc work spot on including 02 sensors.
  4. sell the ecu before you fit it, long term sanity will be improved.
  5. actually pfc's are among the easiest ecu's to tune, a remap is far more complex..
  6. these are pretty good twins, nt sure if you can buy em tho as they were already bought..
  7. Bugger sorry to hear, yeah unfortunatley thats a common 3.0t patrol issue. One good thing though is that parts are cheaper than say if you blew a tb48 etc...
  8. or a seat mounted tazer.
  9. slap in a r32 ecu and the AFM's become the limit, i have two 26's making high 300's on remaped r32 GTR ecu's.
  10. in your type of cases where fuel is a given issue (ie inconsistent) i would strongly reccomend running a remap of the std ecu, we have a few running high 300kw's on them without issues and the benefit is if you do get a batch of crap fuel the knock map will go a long way to saving your ass. The main usage (but not always) for water meth is actually to get MORE agressive with the tuning, the issue is if the w/m stops working you are left with a fairly hairy issue. If your lucky and have an ecu with relevant GPO or GPI's you can set the warning on the WMI to switch to a low octane map. Even if you use the system to stop your current knocking issues with water meth the underlying problem is still there if it ever fails to operate. Fix the underlying issue, or be vigilant with WM levels either way the only sytems to use are available from rocket and here is the systems website. http://www.snowperformance.net/
  11. i found the big wynns race formula to be the best... mind you i just bung the lot in.... they are all evil on spark plugs http://www.wynns.net/retail_raceformula.aspx http://www.wynns.net/product_files/Race%20...43905%20PIS.pdf
  12. that would be my choice of turbo, decent power and torque without much boost the nistune should have no dramas tuning up perfect providing its done right. The r32 ecu's are actually quite good.
  13. bin them they are junk and fit bcpr7es. did you unplug the attessa bleed jumper under the dash? (little white plug)
  14. typo replace a with on. cefiro has no consult wiring etc.
  15. bov? i reckon it just needs an idle adjustment.
  16. the later the better, as they are a better ecu. turbo or NA no big deal.
  17. nope you need a cefiro ecu or you need to swap in a R32 engine harness to use r32 ecu (or pinswap a header plug).
  18. pretty sure crank shaft rebuilders here in vic do all that jazz ^^^^
  19. For me it is all application and engine dependant. We sell and use 4 GARRETS to every other make combined but that is a customer budget restraint more than anything. One example being the SR20 ive found the best all rounder is the TD06 L2 @ 300rwkw. i can not get any Garret turbo to match it, ive directley tried at least 15 differrent combos. RB26 is usage / recipe dependant, the K5 on our car is more responsive than twin 2530's yet makes more top end too.... But most importantly for me they are more durable than the ball bearing gear.
  20. i only like the 10cm's on rb2630's.
  21. my thoughts too, but i dont know the exact setup. Cat asked me a similar question earlier today so i presume R33-RB26DETT it was from you. Feel free to pm or email me your full setup and car usage.
  22. GCG access performance MTQ any decent workshop.....
  23. i reckon now the manifold is fixed the idle mixtures are whack as..... drop in fixed in a flash, and you know its not gonna cost anything.
  24. i have to agree with dirtgarage but only on a few specific hks models (the ones generally with their own housings and or comp covers) those that lack these covers or housing are generic garret.. Among the many turbo tests, I did a back to back on my personal 180sx with garret 2835's vs HKS 2835 equiv and gt3037's and the difference was well worth the extr $$. In the TRUST vs generic Mitsubishi debate and the BLITZ vs KKK, it far more simple in all TRUST and BLITZ cases the turbo's ARE NOT available from the parent company. BLITZ use KKK housings but turbonetics wheels, trust mix and match so many comp and exh wheels and housings nearly nothing is out of the box hence the expense. I cant remember but there is some ridiculous man hours in assy and machining each blitz turbo........
