  1. yeah agreed, my slapper build i did was about as dodge as you could go and it did not include ecu etc..... a haltech is gonna put a 1400-2000 hole in your 5k budget str8 up.
  2. ive got a GTi-R pump at home and im going to compare the rotor set to the spare jun and greddy RB26 pumps i have here, they look very similar...... really want to get them side by side.
  3. do a) as i cant even buy the parts (crank rod pistons) for $3000, thats a 8k -10k package. let me know who can do it for that as i will buy a couple of internal kits off them.
  4. sweet setup, nice. I remmeber a r32 in osaka running 6 x FCR flatslides and it sounded nuts, at idle the slides rattle which made it sound even tougher.
  5. pretty much identical, the differences are minimal we use the 34 boxes as they are generally lower km items..
  6. repco (or soon to be renamed...... ) stock it, i use it alot.
  7. i built a slapper for a good friend about a year back as a laugh, to do it for you budget you will need to get dirty and buy 2nd hand bits and pieces but seeing you already have most of the rb25 stuff you should be laughing provided you have a ecu already. parts used: RB30 non turbo, machine block to clear ex manifold, honed, re ringed, linished the crank and new king bearings ($900 in total inc buying motor) RB25 engine low on comp ($650, you can get cheaper but this was a low k unit some nuff overboosted) decked above head $60 new tensioners $150 ish New belts $150 Highflow std injectors to 740cc $420 change over assembly (free if you follow sau guide) or $500 inc gasket kit and MLS 2nd hand gt3540 kit and gate $2400 car made well over 300rwkw reliably with pfc and z32. honestley though i would just get 300rwkw from your RB25, as finding bargain turbo kits etc is pretty hard nowadays, if you get decent parts you can make it reliable.
  8. best no, quick and easy YES, results also easy. The new Haltech Platinum rates a mention and is one of the best new computers around now especially as the new software is 10000000000000000000000000 times better than their old system. (the old software was clunky)
  9. here are the pics with the larger plenum, rear of plenum fouls the clutch master and both require about 3mm worth of shaving (6mm total). I also slotted the engine mounts and carriers. please bear in mind the car is dummied together for dynoing and is not complete and tidy.
  10. yeah $1650 inc IAT and MAP sensor etc.. still that price we sold a few lately.
  11. id say that bike was probably under cammed for the " fully " ported head work. Its the same principal with most engines and here in aus the 4V cleveland is the most well known. We fit tongues into these engines (4v heads) all the time to increase airspeed when running mild to hot cams and 4v heads, but whack in a BIG cam and the ports come into thier own..
  12. Im happy to do the Z32 ecu swap but personally i dont use the high cost r33 boards ( i just use PFC, LINK or HALTECH etc) Sam @ DRDRiFT is the only reputable shop using the R33 boards, im sure he keeps good stock if you need to go that route.
  13. may have issues clearing clutch master... ooh and say goodbye to the nice chassis balance you had with the SR You can use a gtr style radiator cooler and piping kit, no need for custom if your budget is stretched. Here are some pics of the old setup (T517Z, GTR radiator, cooler kit and piping kit unmodified). I will post up the latest pics 2moro with the K5 and greddy plenum (which fouls the clutch slave badly).
  14. http://www.bulletcylinderheads.com.au/nissan_rb26.php good flow figures as well and local (SA), i still haven't sent my SR20 and RB heads of to them yet but ive seen good results... from a customers engine.
  15. ask your machinist why they machined it without checking it....
  16. lose the nismo fuel pressure reg it is 100% waste of money for your setup.. Rail is a total waste too.
  17. new block, cheap anyways. we usually pay 200-300 ish for a bare 26 block from a local wreckers.
  18. your confused, you need another board that NISTUNE DONT sell, but you can use thier software to to tune it. Sam @ DRDRIFT brings in his own boards and then uses nistune to map it.
  19. no the dyno dynamics dyno have their own measurement for torque (they cant display true NM) and that is what your seeing on right hand side.
  20. remmeber the 100hp ati balancer comes with a water pump pulley
  21. the hole in your pocket and a stinging sensation is the only drawback
  22. haha now im confused... insert RB26 here.
  23. Punch whoever told you that square in the nose.
  24. i think you will find thats the tractive effort scaling.
