  1. its quite common for them to be out especially if it has got hot, spu a bearing etc... on ALL our large builds we tunnel bore regardless as it allows for finer control of tolerances. Your lucky its not an SR about 50/50 need tunnel boring whether you like it or not.
  2. 300rwkw is a walk in the park for a "good" R34 gtt engine we have around 4 all making 290- 330rwkw unopened all done for a lot less than 10-15k we even have a few std RB25's making 320-330 rwkw's using full JAP gear (ie Greddy T67 full external gate turbo kits, jap injectors, PFC, Plenums, pumps and titanium exhausts for less than 15k) It all comes down to using quality parts and management. Having driven 100's of skylines with nearly every concievable combo i reckon 280-290rwkw is about the sweet spot for a daily with DECENT rubber and rims. this equats to about 350-360kw if comparing to commo's and falcons.
  3. To be honest the less plug in the chamber the better, extra electrodes offer more places for hot spots to form (early detonation) i find with super 4's and the multi lectrode plugs that as the engines heats up under race type conditions the amount of total timing the engine will take is BELOW that of single electrode plugs. My pick for high horsepower engines (these make power ) are the fine NON projected plugs (see below) or for general performance simple BCPR7E
  4. generally the same principles, we have a few CA drift cars making low 300rwkw reliably, nice TIGHT bearing clearances, the sump is VERY important (more so than rb) as the stock one is total junk... run a restrictor size is Dependant on rpm and uses.
  5. edited, sorry i mis-typed. it should have read 330- 325rwkw NOT 330rwkw - 225rwkw
  6. i have pulled many rb's apart and there are three impeller types i have come across plus the countless after market profiles (powermax, GMB, silverline etc) i will see if i can round them up from the scrap metal pile and post them up.
  7. you need to determine the dynamic toe especially with +ve camber as the suspension arc will alter the toe settings as your car squats under power. Setting a car up like this we would usually set it up on the wheel aligner without the rear struts and raise / lower to gauge its change in geometry over the range of travel, this is the only way to get the optimum alignment specs.
  8. This white r33 makes 330rwkw with a Titanuim 90mm racing system and makes 225rwkw through a PEII so resriction should not be too much of an issue http://www.statustuning.com/sections/images/gallery5.jpg
  9. i got the circuit version, top end one. AWESOME
  10. meh on the sump, check out the steering
  11. I just bought a real nice sump from Lewis engines in SA, best one i've seen so far for RWD applications.
  12. you cant turn feedback off with the ultimate so he may have tuned "around" it, leave it disconnected and run a tank through the car if your economy is fine leave it disconnected. I have on occasions had to do the same thing when a crook 02 sensor keeps 'pulling' the mixtures out of whack.
  13. Rocket Precision international Nason engine parts Performance wholesale
  14. we have no dramas using high flow injectors providing they are done properly. Get an independent dyno check.
  15. True most forget that small (but useful) feature , the funny thing is ive had about 4 microtech's come through here lately done by a microtech dealer all had no VCT switching..... and the power graphs were shit house, you would see a few too yeah?
  16. Very nice, good luck with the final tune. Should be quite a ride.
  17. if you tell your machinist to factor in a max lift of 11mm (the largest ive seen is around 11.6mm but i highly doubt you'll need something that big) you will cover most brands and grinds except the all out drag gear without running into clearance issues. Base circle tend to be either 30 or 31mm
  18. i've only had the issue on early model R32 GTR pfc's but there are ways around it.
  19. is it d-jet or afm pfc? as djet models have the option of IG idle control in the options menu. Failing that i have had a few pfc's come in with blown idle control circuits from panel shops jump starting cars incorreclty.
  20. surely being an engine builder you know it's not that simple to do it properly.....
  21. i posted a PFC map with cruise and power part highlighted here; http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ca...is-t276729.html
  22. drifting is not to bad as most of the day is spent waiting in line , superlap or sprint style would not be a possibilty though. Athids s15 was one (FF cover car) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/ma...l&p=4478142

hmm i would put the 350z in ugly ass bucket, i reckon it deserves the "stink bug" moniker the interior especially cheap bland plastic dash and doortrims is the worst interior ive seen since the new generation mustang i hired in the us, included 350z vs 370 interior shots. the BRANEW (japlish 'brand new' ) 370 is porn.
  24. agree the fun police would never let it happen here.... prolly due to pullution though
  25. ive had to trim a few of the carbon vents as they fouled pretty bad.
