  1. ^^ still i have quite a few drift guys who fill in melbourne drive to and drift all day @ winton and easily make it back on one tank.
  2. no as 99% of the power curve NEVER intersects the cruise part of the map (make sure his was tuned properley to start with), the cruise side of things is unchanged with boost changes. Bear in mind if you boost everywhere it will be affected. Below is a quick screen grab from a rb20 making 285rwkw and returning 540-ish kms per tank. Yelow is cruise area Red is full load areas
  3. GTR powerfc does not have the option for Q45, it can however be done if you have datalogit (inputing q45 maf curve into z32 option). If you get stuck email me your map OR if your unable to get it done locally and need to drive it to the tuners express post the ecu and i can do it.

    Top Gear Oz

i think the real issue is .... you watch oz top gear? such a lame spin of such an awesome show.
  5. its amazing how many customers come in and go "how much to fit" thier holsets..... then run down the street screaming. budget about 3 times the cost of a garret or similar.
  6. The whole holset thing is overated i would only ever reccomend them to self installers, the sheer cost of getting someone to fit it for you far outweighs any other attribute (plentyof other turbos match the respone and power). Of those i have had come through the shop and seen online they are no more responsive than a similar garret turbo but are 10 times harder to fit. They are however excellent turbo's and if installed your self offer unrivalled kick ass value for money, if your looking for a "wonder' turbo like many believe they are you will be sorely dissapointed, you can get better results far easier for a few $$$ more.
  7. just emailed the maps back, i had to make some big changes so you will need to reload them via datalogit and check AFR's the original fuel and base maps were full of big holes.
  8. you would be suprised, i dummied one into the drift car for shits and giggles. heavy though
  9. auto
  10. thats probably cause the scaling wasnt changed.
  11. i really need to see both fuel maps: feel free to email me the map [email protected] i will have a look over it and do a few adjustments if neccessary. Generally speaking if the map ponts in the main map are linear accross the rpm points then yes the N19 and N20 points you have highlighted should also be linear (increasing) not decreasing.
  12. most these rb's have done a fair few km's 20w-50 wont be the issue. i would not run 7.5w-30 in any gtr other than a new engine. 10w-40 at the least. i reckon the noise in this case will be the injectors like beer baron has posted, we get countless gtr owners complaining with the same issue.
  13. just get a tb48, 1000hp is a walk in the park.
  14. we will be doing a fair few fully variable cam setups soon, Evo IX, SR20VE headed monster so i will let you know how it goes with cam control, so far the only other ecu ive done on similar setups was autronic and greddy v-manage (the later was suprisingly good on an evo 8) The software is carried over from LINK's previous G3 range of ecu's, its actually quite nice to use, no-where near as cumbersome as motecs. I probably tune on average 5 different types of ecu each week and remmbering hotkeys is a nightmare.
  15. i though peter won it again in his super charged vw open wheeler?
  16. we do the ecu, 2.5bar map and temp sensor for $1650 its a bit over the rrp but import duy and freight from NZ is a bitch. as for sydney JEM or anyone for that matter should have no issues with the vipec / LINK its software is very self explanatory.
  17. ca's are connector issue prone, i bet its a dodgy connection in the loom.
  18. there are plenty of independant test results around, if your really hardcore you could even send them to an AUSTRALIA NATA Accredited Laboratory for Mechanical stress Testing. I did such with a range of rods we bought out the back door of a big manufacturer that supplies a few jap and american brands. We sent the original and a "back door" special for testings to confirm they were indeed the same thing. This said assembly line produced Scat, K1, Eagle, Brian Crower and a couple of other brands ran the same "assembly line". Some just do the finishing in house. Carrillo Pauter Oliver Argo etc are in a separate boat to the above 'assy line'. From Carrillo; “When considering any connecting rod, the configuration of the beam does not dictate the strength of the connecting rod. Different applications place different requirements on a rod design, hence also suggesting different beam configurations. Deciding factors on which beam type to use include weight, clearance and actual load conditions in the engine.” good reading; http://www.faliconcranks.com/Making%20the%20Connection.pdf
  19. I reckon your right. REDSUN attached is a gt2871r 0.86 56t vs GT2860RS 0.86 at the same boost.
  20. @ what boost? the boost sensor can max out and cause a cel light.
  21. which exact model were you using? oh and engine type. We change valve springs on some v8 drag engines every few races and they are the best money can buy everything is relative to application.
  22. your correct it can be done... to a few afm's too.
  23. run the car on the last dyno it was on.... only way to get a comparison. By introducing another variable (different dyno) any comparison is null and void. Yeah like you said the throttlebody is a cheap item and we did the excersise for no other reason than i had a Q45 lying around and said customer is a good friend and i offered to run it up no charge b4 and after for data.... if it had the 10cm instead of 8cm rear im sure we would have seen good gains.
  24. the 0.82 makes 300 easy the 0.63 does not.
