  1. Haha slapping toyota superchargers on the side of anything and everything goes back way further than november last year we did a td04, charger and twin draw thru su's back when i was an apprentice on a 4k corrola (easy as head was non x-flow) ..... around 1994 i think and i know i was just one of 1000's back then even. I even think rod hadfield sell kits for most aussie engines. plus he is definately not a ns.com reader or poster... no self respecting person is anymore.
  2. it is super simple, i will take pics next time its in. Simple y pipe between turbo and charger, the turbo inlet for the y has the valve in it..... very simple and CHEAP.
  3. its a rb3et so peak revs are 6500.
  4. you need to set up torque stoppers. V8 stylez.
  5. RB30ET To many turbs, its actually GT3582R 0.82 rear housing with a 0.5 front, but the dit function wont allow me to fix it.
  6. tomei / nismo item is my first choice followed by 040.
  7. The gizzmo MSIBC has pretty much become my house boost controller, it is dead stable and half the price of a BLITZ spec-r (THE BEST CONTROLLER on the market unquestionably) @ $299 retail it is a steal. Im pretty sure the worlds fastest GTST runs one too.
  8. cause all that extra torque cost $200 and some forward thinking on lukes behalf oh and a few six packs of jb.
  9. yep and those walls or chambers are very useful.
  10. it has, thats what the NOS control on the haltech is taking care of.... in 3d... not just running off a rpm or boost switch.
  11. just to let you know the opposite is true , attached are the SAE dyno graphs. I posted the most conservative power correction to avoid said accusations I run mine in DIN unless specified by the engine builder (some engine dyno's i deal with are very specific). By running mine in DIN i can match the two most compared (in my basic demographic) VIC dyno's almost to a tee. In SAE i tend to find im about 10rwkw to high on said dynos. I prefer my cars to pull higher numbers on the dyno dynamics dynos.
  12. haha yeah, toyota charger run by the haltech via NOS control (load rpm etc) then via a differential valve into the cooler, when the turbo boost exceeds the charger boost it is business as usual.... of course everything is also compounding so boost builds very quick. The charger drag seems to rob about 10-12rwkw from the top end. A few hours on the dyno and the boost switching/ load point is almost impossible to pick which was a big suprise for both of us. The graph above of the the 2 rb30's is actually the same car before and after. I have NEVER been in a car that builds boost and torque so rapidly other than BIG dollar supercharged v8's, its a real credit to luke.
  13. diff gears, 3.08:1. No vct.
  14. oh just for interest here is an identical (minus the polariser) setup GT3540 rb30 for comparison Reference numbers on bottom of graph are set to show difference in power and torque @ 3000rpm Torque 268nm vs 532nm ! This torque is more than most rb25 and 26's make @ peak Power 84rwkw vs 167nm !
  15. We had a pretty phenomenal RB30 in last night, the brainchild of a good customer. This is a daily driver, home build and complete credit to the guy. A quick look at the results and im sure you will be astounded at how qiuckly it makes boost and how broad the power and torque curve are... i have NEVER seen any 6 cylinder pull within a 1/3rd of the low end torque this thing does (no gas). On the road this car will fry the tyres in 3rd from 3000rpm..... with only a stab on the throttle boost is instantanious. Any one care to guess what the secret is?
  16. Should have extended the other side, the side you have modified is less effective than before except it holds a smidge more.
  17. everyone knows the car was at melb autosalon on semis (semis and dynos dont mix) and was not allowed to run again on the correct tyres. If i had been informed earlier i could have overseen the runs and made sure the car was roller friendly as ive done at numerous other comps.... If any unbelievers are willing to put there money where their mouth is im willing to wager a hefty sum on the major slip incurred (2wd) from running semis on thier car for a dyno demo........ im glad to even supply the semis....
  18. Spoke to james the other day and it seems a gudgeon broke at high rpm. A new motor is in the works and will be on the dyno as soon as its finished. As for all the dyno queen bullshit ive had more than a dozen cases of cars leaving my dyno for another shop and verifying the figures.... ill stand by my statement that any car that runs on my dyno has the gaurantee that if it runs substanially less on another dyno i will retune /refund thier tuning costs plus the cost of the other run. i have had over 20 cars in the past 8 months pull well over 500rwkw and 3 come within cooee of this car (all not posted on here as the customers dont want to deal with jealous wankers putting it down....) ive got no need to pump the results as i dont build most of the cars... only tune them, the results are due to thier hard work as much as mine. In fact the tuner has the easy job as a well sorted car will pull good numbers easy.
  19. Any competant tuner would usually turn away any map based ecu if it lacked an IAT sensor... well around here anyway.
  20. 270-300 depending on setup, remember 300 at 40psi of boost is never going to be safe but 300 @ 17psi is going to be far safer.... its all in the tuning and relative starting health of the engine.
  21. ^^ seen high 300's with std reg with my own eyes but have heard of higher.
  22. Nice car Hamish, hows the diff? Rob and Danz are top guys i wish i could get over there more often to shoot the shit.
  23. hmm shoulda called i had a few spare of same package in link for $1750 or the 2.5bar setup was $1650..
  24. we are still getting tearing from the adrenalins on cars over 270rwkw.... they are great but are separating at the joins. 6 or 7 sets now....
  25. just roll the car over to bleed
