  1. is turbo garret or HKS, and what rear housing?
  2. Largest Jun items, full valve train kit. Fair amount of port work too. As for exact specifics i cant remmeber (last time i posted up specifics i got it wrong and got flamed.... r34 stylez ) possibly looking to put 8cm housings on instead of 10cm's to bring power curve back to suit injectors instead of upgrading injectors... would be nice to see what they could pump out with some 1600cc injectors and 30-odd psi.....
  3. Many may have read the current FF article on athids car (front cover S15) and how i rate the TD06-L2 as the best SR20 (rb20 too for that matter) turbo package, Well today i had the pleasure of playing with two on a 2JZ This car firstly is a credit to its owner and the builder this tough street driven 2jz it was spot on. All runs on 98 PULP Motec M800 and CDI (dream to tune with) Full Forged 2JZ Greddy intake plenum BIG cams Sard 1000cc Titan fuel hanger and pumps. Tuned up 426.3rwkw@16psi but pulled this particular recorded run early @ 7000 (normaly we pulled to 8000rpm), then dialled up some boost and had to call it quits 579.4rwkw@7100 due to injector duty topping out (6800rpm) and afr was heading rapidly Northward towards the danger zone i reckon with another 1000rpm and a bit more boost 600's would be a walk.
  4. Maclaren ATM being the latest aero package victim.
  5. Precision in nunawading for MLS gasket MD spares for gasket kit (genuine gaskets in blank packaging) JE's from precision Arias from Rocket CP's from every man and thier dog.
  6. Not as good unfortunately, but as good as many other ebc's.
  7. Currentley working (myself and a good customer) on a map editing program for ECU's like the Link/ Vipec to help iron out any small steps / discrepancies in a quick easy manner. The differrence it makes to driveability is phenomenal and the time it saves over using the built in map editing features can save HOURS..... we are hoping to finish it off soon so it will be a 2second "hot key" operation. Testing is sorted on Haltech, PFC, BRE, CHROME, HONDATA, LINK / Vipec is on the go atm. ive included a before and after 3d map. The before map was done in 3 dynopulls, after 1 button press the new software spits out the new ign map... pretty much done... (bear in mind i did this as an extreme example) Its no revolution but the one button press system seems to cut hours out of tuning, many tuning programs have this built in but are tricky for new users to comprehend. In fact for those that are interested i would be happy to put thier maps into the program to show before and after comparisons. I just need the ecu file.
  8. ive had a few through with the big daddy (165mm) trust coolers.
  9. * yep cheap gates are the best..... * Only for apllications where overboosting, stuck bypass valves and burst/split diaphragms are needed. In fact they are perfect for those wishing to let thier engine expire prematurely. please dont bring them anywhere near me (unless they are fully sorted) as the amount of times ive had to send customers home to repair / replace dodge chinese wastegates is unbelievable.
  10. hmmm donuts
  11. spray aerostart around all the gaskets and hoses if there is a leak the idle will pick up.
  12. 1) $1980+tax+frieght 2) $1350+tax+frieght 3) not on my current pricelist. dirt have you seen the LInk display unit? plugs into usb / can connector. $800+tax The DisplayLink is compatable with all Link ECU's that can run PCLink Point of Difference The DisplayLink is not a preset segmented LCD like other aftermarket "dashs" but rather a full graphical display that is clearly visable even in direct sunlight. 13. here is a pretty crazy rb20 built by OHperformance i had on the dyno the other week the revlimit was 9800 and sounded sweet, real credit to the guys.... 490hp at the wheels.
  14. provided it has hi/low i cant see it being an issue. We bought in heaps of those silk road ones over the years for people.... never fitted any though.
  15. 100% no go you need hi impedance the MSD units are only 2ohm you need 12-14ohms "ish".
  16. pull rocker cover, most "brand" name cams are embossed.
  17. i got a back to back with the pros vs the GT3582R and the HKS unit kills it everywhere..... like fkn killed then laughed at it. Putting cams in the GT3582 R tommorrow to give it more lungs, will post those results too. GT2835 ProS full boost 3600rpm GT3582R was 4600rpm. Both peaked at around 270@17psithe hks unit making 80rwkw more at 4000rpm and 20 rwkw morew at 5000rpm. as i said 2mor will be the eye opener as i believe the car developed VCT issues and 2moro the lot will be removed and checked when the new cms installed then it will be a fair comparo.
  18. Curve is pretty wavy i reckon the timing curve needs "smoothing" or bit better interpolation. AFM is fine as it wont effect power (only tuning resolution, mapping points will flatline at 5v) Cooler Piping wont make a diff i run 2.5" on cars well over 300. Could just be rear housing looking at graph it tops out way early... what size is it?
  19. not to be smart but there should be no differrence in power, both do the same thing. I have matched the PFC, LINK, MOTEC install on GTR's with the emanage ultimate...... takes longer to get the final result with the EMU but both graphs are identical. Its the other niceties of the better ecu's which make it a good upgrade. why ditch the Haltech? if its a e11v2 i cant see the point... sure the software is clunky but they tune up good.
  20. its cause the shop is making double GP$$ on the ELF @ $58 than he is selling the motul at $120 jokes shop around i know plenty of places selling for way under $120 (us included) the ELF @ $58 is nowhere near the 300V or redline quality wise the 300v and redline is high end comp oil, the ELF is still a very good synthetic oil.
  21. In real torque figures 550-600 wheel NM. A 7.2 litre cat diesel makes around 800nm atw now way you will reach a tonne.
  22. 44.5mm
  23. been using alot of the LINKS lately (rebadged in australia as vipec) and at 1200-1500are hard to beat, we had a good play with the knock control again today on a tricky application (High comp and big boost) on the LINK G4 EXTREME (V88 vipec in aus) and it is extremely effective and useful as a safegaurd. BUT bear in mind a good tuner can get the same result from on a 300-380awkw car with either a PFC or a NISTUNE, the reason we are using alot of the LINK product is the VALUE as we cant get a hold of new PFC's etc for anywhere near their purchase price. Best bet is speak to your local tuner and find what they like to use as many places can and only tune particular products.
  24. i would be extremely suprised if it is tune related, i have found them to be the result of physical issue more than electrical, ie unequal length of pipes from turbo outlets to intercooler etc
  25. yeah it is hard we had a $250,000 rod on the dyno with a 80k engine.... concentration, space and quiet when you need it are paramount to getting a good result. I prefer to keep bystanders on these type of jobs to a minimum (owner, tuner, engine dyno or engine builder only) For general customers who are happy to have freinds watch thier car on the dyno... no dramas but now and again we do have closed tuning sessions also.
