  1. used it on gear box internals with mixed results, it is hard to quantify the results and really depends on what your getting cryo treated. I find the jap stuff seems to be better material than stock over say the old yank V8 iron that is really driving the cryo bus.
  2. I went for a fang i the old HPI R34 and the KKR turbo on that thing was shouse. HKS GT-RS or a decent GCG high flow would be far better.
  3. T88-38GK T51R (HKS not garret)
  4. Item:Greddy Emanage Ultimate and harness Age: 1 month Condition: as new Price: $900 To Fit: R33, R32 or GTR (What car) Location: Vic Contact: Trent or Cat Comments: The tune is to suit R33 GTS-T but i can wipe it if you dont want it. Car made (and matched) 206-210rwkw in a back to back comparison i did with the VI-PEC plug in ecu. 5. not yet as the current Vi-PEC structure does not work, i have to buy off another melbourne workshop that does not even keep stock and there is also the pricing issue.... there is no profit in them. At the moment i am lining the Melbourne distributors pocket and gettng nothing. I will probably speak to a couple of LINK distributors before making any further decisions. RRP on the Vi-Pec is $1666.
  6. HICAS is always used as scape goat for crap driving but it does make the car feel squirelly....certainly wont make you lose it but at the end of the day predictability is what your after so best bet is to bin it.
  7. they help stop the dynamic change in toe over the suspensions range of travel.
  8. Ok i finally got my first Vi-PEC in to tune last week and put simply it went extremely well... for two reasons. First reason is the installation and setup time is around the same as a POWERFC D-JETRO... plug the unit in and fit the intake temp sensor to the manifold or piping whatever your fancy. Secondly and i suppose most importantly for me was the software was instantly recognisable as LINK which i have used in the past so it saved me the hassle of learning new hotkeys, map navigation and so forth. The Vi-PEC is a highly capable unit and is a breeze to tune but, is it any differrent to the run-of-the mill G4 plug in LINK? i think not but if both are priced the same i can see no issue either way, the benefit being it is twice as easy to source and is now well backed locally. The car i fitted it to was a SERII R33 with FMIC, full exhuast and a profec b spec II Peak power was 210rkw after final tune and peak torque was 346nm @ 11psi without the dip in the graph which was boost controller setup. I attached the last run i saved for refference.
  9. Hey sam ive fitted and played with one and they are great but they are just a re-branded LINK from NZ. They tune up real sweet and the software is easy to use and quite well laid out, i certainly reccomend them but i must now compare distribution and pricing with LINK.
  10. nice betty in your sig, bit of a rod fan too.... not many of us around in sau
  11. yeah customer wanted it there, once it set though there is very little need to ever touch it.... the way i see how much boost is controlled by your right foot only the maximum is controlled by the boost controller
  12. agreed, ive made various post over the years in just about every jb clutch thread but its seems people just keep going there.... he must have the gift of the gab. There is a "shelf" clutch avalable for EVERY application from majors like OSgiken, ORC etc...
  13. RB25 all the way, slap on a T67 GT2835 or GT-rs.
  14. oh yeah i should have mentioned they are pretty much ext gate versions of the T517Z range of turbos. The twin Td05 kit was discontinued when the bolt on T517z 8cm and 10cm versions were released.
  15. yeah the owner of that site is a legend, very knowledgeable and his pricing is pretty sharp. my favorite page..... my shameless claim to fame http://gizzmousa.com/knock-monitor.html
  16. good for high 300-low 400awkw. i have used a few sets (they usually use TWO wastegates) make sure the gate is big enough to flow both turbos... maybe one of the reasons its cheap is his custom job was not so successful..
  17. yeah its a good trick, i usually go a ford lightning afm if i run out of scope but if the customer is happy with a quick fix it does wrk.. not perfect but fairly damn good.
  18. its got two..... and has full POWERFC support. i use the LM1 for street tuning and in the race car and the LC1 for other things. I use the LM1 connected directly to emanage or FC-datalogits for accurate wide band logging.
  19. yeah innovative LM1 or LC1
  20. ^^^ dnt stress to much about the latency, your tuner can do it 90% of the cars (even tuned) that come to my workshop have not even had this set..... i always set it but at the end of the day it wont effect the car bugger all if you just want to drive it down to the tuner. the important one is the injector correction.
  21. is it one of the old turbos made by HYBRID or is it just an ebay "hybrid" t04? i used a HYBRID branded turbo on a R34 GTT awhile back and it worked ok (bit laggy but not too bad) made 280ish.
  22. ^^^ if they need GTR shafts then you need GTR outer hubs as the axles are thicker... i dont reckon this is the right solution. i have not encountered this problem as all the NISMO diffs ive used come with half shafts (but the shafts are the same as many std ones). The OSGIKEN one in our race car just needed two short ones instead of the STD one long one short setup. I just pulled them out of a spare r33 diff i had lying around.
  23. shite, sorry to hear. i wont get into it here because ive said it so many times, but these types of failures are the reasons i like to stick to decent stuff like ORC etc....
