  1. dinosaurs for dinosaurs im notsure if many people who comment on the gear have actually used it.... gas can be real laggy to respond to throttle inputs and ALL the gas research units ive driven or seen suffer from this, the direct injected stuff is exactly like petrol... no throttle lag.
  2. sweet its one of a few. The best one ive seen will even challenge motec (far superior computing power and speed) for thier market postion yet be half the price. It has all the above plus optional dash live knock sense and warning etc id like to seemore of these coming out.
  3. D units are fairly old, where are you located? i will see if i have a spare E board.
  4. Fark gas research the shit is archaic... lpg injection is the only way to go. I am tuning a 280-odd rwkw gas research soarer ATM and well yeah... injection FTW Gas Research FTL.
  5. what is the serial number and there is a (D,E) letter code inside on the board... what is yours?
  6. to hard to fit, studs etc on housing. best bet is to forget it.
  7. nothings perfect i tune twice as many PFC's as EMU's and i have had a fair few dodgy PFC's over the last 10 or so years.... maps all 0 etc. the problem is with EMU is it is up to the installer to fit it correctley and unfortunatley there are more monkeys with spaners and testlights than there are decent mech/autoelecs with a clue.
  8. put it this way 99% of the EMU issues i fix on a day to day basis is because so-called experts fark it up.
  9. You need to vlamp it before 5V, email your map to me [email protected] and i will set the boost cut for you and email it back.
  10. just finished dynoing the driftcar which was built purely for response. it seems to mirror Snowys exactly 3500 rpm: 120 (100km/h) 4000rpm: 185kW (114km/h) 4500rpm: 255kW (128km/h)
  11. nice im sure he ignition system mods will help with the troublesome top end. Ive tested a few of the superspark RB26 coils and had no issues (nice budget price) if your looking for something differrent. i actually just finished dynoing the K5.... im suprised how much more mid range it has compared to the smaller GT35R.. kinda defy's logic. Results were made on our new dynapck which reads within a poofteenth of all the dyno dynamics round here and and about 10-15 less than the dts ones.. for refferrence as i cbf posting the rpm vs kw and NM 120kmh is equivalent to 4700rpm
  12. thrust me they are not just a different badge.... ns.com is good for nothing..... posers with no idea.
  13. hey your sig looks like our old skyline, is it from adelaide?
  14. its cause ORC are man clutches... they grunt a bit
  15. yeah most jap companies source core turbos then modify to suit many are not available via other sources like garret and the garret 'equiv' wont perform as well (some are the same). examples of such are the 3037s and some of the 2835 range and the big bangers (i know as i did back to back with customers cars on the 3037s and 2835 particulars) HKS use garret cores and fit their own housing to many which are NOT available via garret. BLITZ uses KKK cores and housing but fits Turbonetics wheels to the core and machines the comp and exh housing to suit. Hence the reason they are so dear.. they are in effect using one and a half turbos to make one.. TRUST/ GREDDY again purchase mitsubishi cores and fit thier own wheels and housings and actually do quite a lot of funky machining just like BLITZ.
  16. make sure they fitted the correct throw out bearing carrier... i have had to fix heaps of workshops FU's cause someone did not fit the new carrier supplied (like the onesin ORC clutch kits) ..... sif you use the old one anyway most use a GTiR carrier.
  17. im sure it is moulding issue causing the tearing / separation and have mentioned this to the dealer, unfortunatley they all (dealers) at this stage give blank looks.... tyre re-sellers not experts i will send through some pics to B/S HO. as both cars see ZERO drift or any real excessive abuse that other UHP tyres havent been able to handle.. Not real impressed with them so far.
  18. BLITZ nur-r ($1000ish) is the nest performer, the GREDDY PEII ($799) is nice and quiet round town yet opens up under full noise the HKS is just stupid price wise locally so i would forget it. these prices were accurate when i set them at autobarn head office proir to resigning in december.
  19. Yeah good choice the Bee R rims are nice and still cheap like the Dori's.... well the last few sets i bought in anyway.
