  1. yeah what a dissapointing weekend for DCR, we had issues with the car all weekend.... somewhere in the 10yo factory GTR loom is an evil power robbing wiring gremlin.... car would not rev over 5000rpm consistantly.... bring on the next round. i was suprised she qualified mid field with such a misbehaving car .....
  2. ^^^ i have a brian Crower kit coming over to have a play with... 2.3L.... looks like a pretty nice kit but i am a bit worried about getting the 90mm liners fitted. Any recomendations?
  3. yeah well we just transplanted a RB26 into the S13 and it was as much a step back as it was forward. DO NOT believe that fitting an RB into an S13 wont make a bif differrence to handling IT DOES in a negative way. the benefit was lazy power the SR was making 280rwkw and was fairly highly strung the rb on the other hand makes 290-330rwkw (14psi - 17 psi) on std internals... If it was curcuit i would stick with SR20 all day long but for the intrest of engine longevity and cost the rb26 was chosen for drift. RB20's are lethargic and really a waste of space in a S13 as a sr does everything better. dont get me wrong i have been in plenty of rb20's in cefiros/laurels and R32's that make me smile but hey why bother when a Rb25 or 26 bolts in and makes more power and more importanly more torque. you cant argue with shear capacity at the end of the day if power is your thing, but for handling "built" SR all day.
  4. 100% wont lose your tune.
  5. the original blue emange required an ignition adapter for R33 and if installed without it WILL burn coils, however an update fixed that because so many forgot to fit the adapter. R34 GTT DOES still need an adapter part number 15900906 with the blue and the ultimate needs 15921500 (plug in module)
  6. yeah the poncams seem to work well in the RB25's, not so well in SR20's when compared to the HKS / GREDDY (new grinds) equivalents. Greddy have just invested in a new Cam machine and have revised their offerings and the sell them in packs now. i have not used any of the new RB stuff so i WILL NOT go on about them, i will be getting a set of 26 ones in to do some back to back tests in cats car though.
  7. wasnt it in the book of fairytales..... oooh i mean revelations....
  8. hmm well all obx gear is made in china, maybe i will chase up the factory? get some samples accross to play with.
  9. just get a thin piece of steel cut it to the same shape as the flange and put a 1" hole int.....place it in between one of the flanges. works a treat.
  10. definately differrent
  11. ahh so you completey redesigned it make it jap or euro re-aligned all the panels, fixed the electrical gremlins, removed the 30 year old irs setup and fixed the chronic steering shudder isues i love my holdens, at least having LS1 edit keeps me busy.... the engines are great. just stirring ya buddy.

    Pfc

yeah unfortunatelt many SA tuners are muppets, emange is by the easiest to tune but some struggle with new things. Most of the issues stem from these workshops not being able to READ and wiring them up wrong. i would be keen to train up a workshop if there was enough interest..... shit emanage is so easy i reckon i could train up every workshop in a day that said auto barn mile end and elizabeth both have RB20 PFC instock. go haggle a decent price. shit i can tune a emanage in half the time of a pfc (even with my datalogit software) so it cant be that hard
  13. hha you are in denial hey.. mate i have had heaps on holdens and currentley have a VY BERLINA (from new as my daily) with all the fruit and it is the biggest bucket ive owned to date... great for commuting but build quality and stuff is well up the creek.
  14. haha i had a BN mould but it was so unpopular... no one liked the prk light indicator setup...
  15. I have not come accross any diferrences. same as every other car.
  16. Autobarn mile end in SA and autobarn elizabeth both have one in stock work out a deal.
  17. Yeah no good, alot of places dont road test after tunes either which is an issue. A dyno cannot 100% replicate driving conditions (rememmber wind resistance etc) and it is possible for a well tuned car on a dyno to ping its self to destruction higher up in the gears.
  18. i usually start with the r33 and go from there, the 34 will take more timing than the 33 from experience.

yeah we figured as such so didnt bother taking any of the cars down there.... if they get their shit together we would consider bringing some decent drift cars.
