  1. any conversion ecu required a full retune to get it working sweet, if you look in your rom pack under type 6 he rb25 bin files are all there.. Yes your reasoning on the maf map is correct, ive been spending more and more time in this map now that nistune changed the scale manipulation for me (on other ecus like pfc its where i spend most time), it used to be a tedious job as the values would only scale up and down in 10's... they have since changed it for me so it scales in 100's and it has been absolute bliss Cant fault the Nistune guys as they are quick to react and help with any suggestions or upgrades.
  2. 19peak, the gate was a little lazy (ebay) so its missing about 20 mid range kw too... as it cracked open @ 15psi.
  3. Hey reduce your lead up timing, it will make the car heaps more responsive.... its upto 20degrees too advanced in some spots.
  4. On some GTRS (very rare) the map signal is weak (map trace runs through same spot in cruise as on accel) so i run a separate 4d or 5d map which corrects on TPS vs rpm this is scaled to give great resolution in the areas i could not get perfect in the main map, this can sort fuel consumption issues and liveability issues around 0 atmo on the map make sure your tps level is set to exit the 4 or 5d map under 2/3s (approx as varies car to car) of full load. This keeps your fuel trims on closed loop to under 3% yet has no effect on accel maps.
  5. Buy the L2 dont get the plain 06 variant. This car had a GTRS on it (red line) and it lost nothing with the L2, this car has a little more lag than normal as VCT is disabled. STD SR20 with 264 HKS cams on std valve springs etc..
  6. Your spending too much time on latency and concentrating on theory (very often the case text book tuning is useless in real world applications), best bet is to concentrate on your idle and cruise with latency within 10% of the factory setting as they are high flowed. Use your K value. Once cruise and idle is set to a reasonable setting then retune the rest of the map,it is not uncommon to rewrite the whole map so it resembles nothing like your old one. Maniplutaion of the MAF curve is generally a given too. The maps Tao has posted the last few pages of his highflow thread have around 1.5 to 2hours spent on the MAF curve alone... so much detail in there athat changing turbos generally only requires a run or 2 on the dyno to touch up each time.
  7. unfortunately with nissans the rpm signal is rock steady even with a knackered cas had a few cars log perfect but would not push past 190rwkw, swapped cas and cars pulled mid 300's . Already has had another Cas tried in this car from memory. I could not sort it before plenum and cooler it tuned up fine, after mods it would not take any timing.
  8. Td06L2 10cm t2 housing pulled 302rwkw today at the shop, all round nice setup.... for 900 hucks.
  9. intake pipe? or plug gap
  10. 10.61 @ calder std engine.
  11. Sorry here in AUS we have AEM stinger and motorsport ecu's which are different from the US based AEM version 2.. in fact they are not even similar. I JUST NOTICED your location is USA or similar. The AEM Version 2 is an AWESOME ecu and we tune a fair few turbo hondas and some bigger hp supra stuff with them, YES it does have knock control and feedback engines but ive not had a play with one in a R33, it worked awesome on a turbo S2000 we did. I have a feeling it wont be compatible with the std RB25 sensors, but send Aem an enquiry as to whether ot not they are supported as its a great feature in the Version II. Aem Version II http://www.importpartspro.com/306621r33rb26dett.html our Local AEM product range: http://www.enginemanagement.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=107 Its kinda like comparing apples to oranges
  12. As with any tune though the cruise areas are setup first to make sure latency is correct etc then load in increments next then back to cruise idle for cleanup.
  13. go to www.trust-power.com and download latest update and update the firmware in the EMU to the latest version. should fix it. Secondly open unit and look for the series... the boards are lettered either A B C D E and pretty much anything other than the E is a pain in the ass on Toyota.
  14. yup hence why both AFM and O2 wires need to be common.
  15. seriously put in ID1000's, probably run better than most 555cc injectors out there and gives you scope to run E85 or any other myriad of fuels.
  16. Most plug and play dont use the knock sensors, what model ems?
  17. Worst thing you can do.
  18. been doing it that way for years, its the best way to run them in.
  19. take it to another tuner, if they cant set the tps then how can you trust them to do the important tricky stuff.
  20. I doubt the EMS is connected to the knock sensors....
  21. 12.5 is safe on a RB... when tuned right... even seen 13's on a 500hp endurance engine so 12's is nowhere near the edge. To the OP 0.5 is often the approx difference from dump to tailpipe depending on cat and dyno pickup design at the tip.
  22. Yeah as guilt just posted you need to calibrate the tps travel and voltage to the ecu's end points.
  23. Most of the motec systems around the traps were wired up to retain the factory ecu to control attessa, thats about it.
  24. guaranteed flyweel hp.
