  1. so does my postie bike.... well as much chance anyhoo.
  2. no stress, no reason its not up to the task. comp it and leak down if you have access.
  3. See you @ WTAC richard, (if you have a spare minute) the car sounds fantastic, im pretty keen to throw a 9180 on the 2jz for the crown (just sourced a 6spd too), seen some Supra results in the usa and they all seem promising as do the results of smaller BW EFR stuff on honda engines. i need a new hero turbo to take the place of the K5
  4. comp test it then if its no good pull engine and remove the head, if its assembly error i reckon you will see grab marks in the bores (from butted rings etc)... if its tune related you will see pitted pistons. what ecu btw?
  5. tuned a few similar setups and the latest being not long ago (HKS GT3037s) kit and it is my pick of all the kits out there, made 253rwkw @ 6psi on BP98, cranking it to 10psi on its next visit then doing a swap to e85.. cant wait. PS the kit can be had cheaply as HKS usa is going belly up and selling stock off like crazy as is performance wholesale in QLD, i think the whole kit (turbo, ex gate, cooler etc) was under 4k. Got one coming for my brothers V35 coupe i was that impressed.... full boost 2300rpm and the sound of the gate is phenomenal. these engines happily make 300-320rwkw without to much stress, if it can handle a season of track work its gonna sneeze at road duties.
  6. AFM or cas, watch your HC maf voltage when it loses power, unfortunately to trouble shoot the cas you can only swap it out with a known good one as the logs dont show the trigger faults.
  7. seriously could swap in a new stagea neo engine for 2500... including fitment. Simon is on the right trach with the heat exchanger too.
  8. ^^ yeah ive retro fitted r33 pfc's into r34 few pin swaps is all..
  9. post a pic as a poorly serviced car will get a rusty looking foam build up in the cap area.... its often mis diagnosed as head gasket.
  10. any updates?
  11. If its a copy, they can have all sorts of dramas, pinholes, warped flanges etc...
  12. i could line up a few low budget v8's that run 10-11sec...
  13. Bingo, most factory ecu's dont use "base maps" anymore, it all based on ve calculations and lookups.
  14. I suppose it going to get worse on a 6 or 8 over a 4 so i reckon we have bit of a one sided story as most of the 2000 we use are on 4cyl. Ive just done a 350Z turbo (return less fuel system) and it was hell tricky with the haltech to keep a steady idle (as factory ecu trys to hold a 650rpm idle) but i put that down to the elec throttle and Zero adjustments in the haltech for it.... i might upgrade to the later TB to get a small adjustment. i havent used cob on the r35 does it allow you to enter all the relevant data? breakpoints, high low flow etc?
  15. One fatal flaw in your theory.... on why map is better... have a think about what you've written.
  16. another reason why its crazy not to run a AIT sensor with a map based ecu.... its seems nearly every microtech that comes in running like shit hasnt got one.... surely it should not be a an option when you buy one of these things... it should be included as std..
  17. haha got a few customers running turbo std 3.8's... cheap to do (xr6t gt35 is perfect and cheap) and are quite hardy.... give most skylines even heavily modified ones a slapping so dont be too quick to get on a high horse... seen one that owes him about 6k all up and runs 10's....
  18. i think thats the only thing no longer available... got two perfect pfc's... but the main "chips" are no good seriously its a easy job to fix. far easier than replacing your injectors.
  19. ^^ no each ecu code is unique therefore incompatible. To OP the pfc seems to have lost the input resistor, i can do it for $80, but im sure you could get it done for far less locally.
  20. the last snow WMI kit we had through was on a late model BMW M5.... 304rwkw without 348rwkw with it turned on and setup via injector duty (no ecu tune changes) cant complain.
  21. coppers @ 0.8mm are equiv to irridiums @ 0.5mm.
  22. try 0.5mm gap, if we are required to use them we run all our iridium and plats @ .05mm without power loss.
  23. again with the mis info. Djetro does not have launch control or ignition cut. Nistune scaling can be tuned via whatever scale you input.... from 50rpm to 5000rpm...
  24. emailed you a few starters. First one is good for mid 400rwkw"s second was around mid 300"s I take no responsibility for them (as they were spot on in the respective cars but on anything else they are just good bases to start from as no two setups are the same) and i have sent them on the proviso they are not to be shared with anyone but your tuner....
  25. @ idle? if so whatever we set them at.
