  1. stock rods and pistons are fine at that power.
  2. Map is hardly an advantage on most setups though, especially if its a 26.
  3. ^^^ much better bet than the r32 ecu.... about 100 times better.
  4. simply no. Just like other jap manufacturers i would bet they are made to order (to their spec) by other large companies... like carrillo (for the rods) and cosworth etc for pistons. I have Multiple jap branded items here in my hand now like rods and they are Jap branded yet have carrillo markings and the pistons are also in the same boat, my rb26 that is for sale has Greddy pistons in it and i know for a fact they dont make them in house. These itmes are exclusive to the jap brands and dont show up in the carrillo or cosworth catalogues. Another example is I have two sets of JUN pistons here for RB26 and there is $500 between the two of them, the premium one is a Cosworth manufactured item (different crown design again to the greddy) the other is a Wossner more budget orientated design.... poor customer got shafted by an online seller who sent the cheaper series instead of the ordered high spec ones Mines are using Mahle as their supplier for R35 GTR pistons.
  5. most link dealers do em for around 1650 with AIT.
  6. Not sure but i think they are made by cosworth, and yes they are generally better (i have run greddy pistons in about 7 engines (SR's and RB's) now) than the run of the mill probe, mahle, CP, JE etc but the reason they are generally better is they come out of the box with killer ring sets better crown profiles and base stock but as for life there is not much in it if it is built properly.... we get the same life out of JE's (our most used brand)... wear on the thrust side and audible slap @ 10,000km was a builder issue not a piston issue. The greddy pistons (again i think cosworth due to very odd ring sizes) are generally quieter and run finer tolerances as the base stock is better but @ up to triple the price you could do another engine for what you saved... I use them only on high end builds and my own stuff.
  7. yep least it will fit.... not like most of the ebay rb30 manifolds which need the stud holes reamed to bolt up.
  8. will take some close ups, postage no issue. (will use mainfreight)
  9. dude, go the import wreckers fit a Neo engine and be done with it, for your wishes a std neo engine will be happy for about the life of your ownership. building an engine is a waste of time, the neo head will allow nice cams without the big expense of springs and so forth will save you a fortune...
  10. Not enough room on the nistune boards to run multiple maps, wish there was as we do a fair bit of nitrous and e85 (2-3 a week). Matt and peter explained exactly why not a few years back but i forgot...
  11. Fine, the link G4's have no issue so its carbon copy wont have an issue.
  12. sounds like it has a hurt piston. Broken ring lands, seized rings or melted crown/ lands.
  13. there is no point, it should be tuned for maximum economy and best power in the one tune. the only reason to have multiple tunes is fuel changes. Nistune cant run multiple maps.
  14. no such thing, just delete the tune in it, once deleted car will run like std. have you got the software and special cable? delete all the info in the ecu, and only set the injector adjustment it is also in the software just put i the before and after sizes.
  15. Done back to back with CES and Decent bellmouth types and found ZERO difference.
  16. yeah just make sure it is "empty" or wiped clean before use.
  17. exactly, and it makes em handle like shit.
  18. from memory (tuned one awhile back and was not to far off one with 3" cat back) the std 33 GTR exhaust was not too bad at the power levels these make (JDM cats are good, compliance cats are not) boost restrictor removal and tune if your not into more noise from the rear.
  19. This was done at home for under a grand or so (turbo kit already on) http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vn-vp-...ukes-vn-43.html
  20. No they are more like a PFC d-jetro but better, one of the best ecu's on the market.
  21. best bet is to use a calibrated voltage curve and leave those % all @ 100%. I really dont like seeing adjustments over 2-3% in those compensation tables... if you send me a pm i will remember to post up a properly calibrated nismo AFm curve
  22. sounds tune related or the vac line to the ecu is crushed or kinked.
  23. Im too lazy to pull the braces off atm so they will most likely be there still
