  1. do it, and set it up tight. Common trick we do on the sr's
  2. if only i had the front hubs... we would know in 5 mins.
  3. agreed best mod for the r34 and stageas for sure. We do change over autos with MV as the last few have been over 300rwkw autos. Killer setup, MV FTW ps how are you Kurtis?
  4. funny thing is ive seen a few std v6's with XR6 turbos hanging off the side... nice easy 260rwkw for next to nothing.
  5. there must be another issue. we often upgrade and customers love how much "free'r" the car feels. The 34 cooler can hardly do 4 pulls on a dyno without heat soaking and wont do more than one lap before becoming useless.
  6. definitely uncalled for, but remember its jealousy... bet they arrived in their girlfriends car. im bit of closet mx5 fan now after tuning one of the countries quickest nb's. As for my starlet comment, i have nothing against them ( i tuned and supplied all the parts for hot4's project startlet (blue) years ago, and have built a few @ the shop) its just bagging a r31 when you drive a starlet is a paradox...
  7. 99% are assemblers and get head work outsourced, you get the head done direct you save alot. Handfuls of big name engine builders all outsource to different head companies.
  8. Based on all the DA, G1 rounds (not this nationals event) we have competed in over the past 5 odd years. It is made in comparison to all the other scrutineering we see at tracks we frequent australia wide.
  9. use this; http://www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=htt...tx=30&ty=58
  10. the diagram is backwards, the pinout is from the back of the plug not the front. i get about 3 calls a month with faulty AFM... and they are all wired backwards. Car will just fire and pump black smoke.
  11. bit harsh man, people in startlet's should hardly throw stones.
  12. Hey Cazz do you know if its hurt or just tired? might be worth investigating via your mech or workshop if your thinking of tracking it again. A preventative repair is usually cheaper than a repair after a failure.... especially if it eats a ring land or piece of ring.... down an engine and a turbo. Would hate for it to cost a small fortune to fix for the sake a track day. sorry if i am out of place with the above statement i dont mean it to be preaching or whatever... food for thought.
  13. ROFL.... that'll learn me.... gotta stop getting hit in the head.....
  14. hating it, just left work ( 8.30pm) will try for the next one
  15. i like the alternate spelling brings back memories of pub meals in geelong.... pot and parmie $6.... there was no class then....
  16. You would spend 4 times that a year keeping it running...
  17. yeah biggest issue is noise, we can get them through epa piece of piss (exhaust noise and pollution) but the blower itself emits to much noise.... and the blower wont pass the noise requirements best bet is to use both charger and turbo. My 1977 ltd was being built to run a W305 and dual T04z's on a 427 windsor.... but ive lost interest and am selling it all off.
  18. yup, if you look at the post above you will see the whipple is making 6 -odd psi down there
  19. malalla is certainly "interesting" scrutineering wise..... only place they "make up regs on the spot".... Cant wait for wakefield, shame Garry Willmington no longer runs the show but we will drag a few cars over to it, i was unable to go this year.
  20. spray carby cleaner around gaskets, if idle changes you have a leak. could be one of the vac lines off the vac reservoir under the plenum, bov source etc.. try removing vac lines to one turbo actuator at a time, just to make sure both turbos are in fact working, the power seems about right for one with a dead turbo. Or check the two vac lines which leave the vac reservoir, one goes to the bov the other (i cant remember right now) but if they are mixed the bovs open under boost and limit power to about what your seeing.
  21. less than 1000 odd bucks in the above case.
  22. look in the forced induction section under twin charged i posted a few results in there, we have a rb30 with a gt3540 and supercharger that comes in... sick setup and is all home built see build thread here http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vn-vp-...ukes-vn-43.html
  23. he just listed the map sensor in the wrong paragraph, map sensor (plumbed to intake manifold) and intake pipe are no way related so it wont affect you.
  24. i flushed mine.... head first
