  1. drop the gain down, what is it atm and what is the start boost set to in the controller? The duty cycle will most likely be spot on just the gain and start boost needs adjusting, best bet do it yourself on the road.
  2. Selby's make a RB swap into S13 swaybar, im about to order one for our race car. (ive used notched sumps of late) Slot the mounts on the engine (up) and slot the xmember (down) this should give you a full inch. You will need a fwd facing plenum to do it properly (ie legal clearances) though.
  3. if your not sure how to read the lobes with a dial gauge etc a quick trip to a cam grinder will have you set straight in no time. Clive Cams Crow Cams Ivan Tighe Camtech Cams
  4. i reckon GTR are about the only skylines worth putting the gears on.... rb20 and rb25 generally don't respond anywhere near as well as the RB26, dialling in a 6 odd degrees (deftly setup) on a set of cam gears on the rb26 and -5's (little less on the -7 and -9's) and it can make a marked difference.

the converter is plumbed into the cooling system wrong
  6. $75 bucks here so no biggie We have rebuilt a few turbos internally for ourselves and mates and honestly it is no black art, i have been quoted 1100 for something we achieved in house for $250 including wheels, bearings and out sourced for pro blanace job. I wont do it for a paying customer as i CBF'd with the warranty issues if it ever arose (remove and refit say on a GTR would be 1500 alone in lost time and money).
  7. steering play in a skyline is usually basic stuff (quite common), non issue really, even if worse case it was bounced off a gutter and the rack was US then your only up for a max of $500 fitted anyway. Id say rack mount bushes or tie rods are slightly worn.
  8. If thats the case, just get nismo or mines afm's, direct fit and same power handling as they are essentially std units recalibrated to near z32 specs. The smaller body of the nismo /mines items allow nicer low and mid tuning.
  9. yeah they can work well... idle control and load compensator inbuilt, hose outlet but still flange mount.
  10. Z32's are a last choice for me as they can be a real bitch to tune out reversion, the resolution at low speeds is pretty poor on little twins.
  11. The std ecu requires more than rpm to operate the VCT The ECU checks the status that: - engine temperature is above "min temp"; - engine temperature is below "max temp"; - load exceeds "min TP"; - speed exceeds "speed" If above conditions are true, then it turns on at "min RPM" and off after "max PRM". If at least one of the above conditions is/becomes false, then RPM parameter is overridden and VTC solenoid remains/turns off respectively. On @ 1100-2000 (depending on ser I or Ser II) and off @ 5400, the on point is worth having a play with too...
  12. These are the ones i wanna see more of 0.82 has a better power torque balance than 0.63.
  13. Here are the wheels: $1400 (brand new in boxes, need more info? see my signature)
  14. Bugger i got a few R32 gtr looms laying about i would have swapped for the 33 one to make it plug in for you.
  15. With that fuel cocktail it should last forever.
  16. Updated for those asking where my pics were of a R34 neo with greddy plenum, Can a mod fix the OP thread title? i could not find it for the guys as it said Greedy not GREDDY
  17. Decent cam profile and springs is the key and it will be fine, i prefer to use lighter retainers but they are $850 for a kit which includes titanium retainers and springs. Lifters obviously need to be healthy to start with. I have a 25 head here atm which has been CNC ported and has camtech 272's and the HD springs and Ti retainer kit 9k rev limit, its a relatively new combo so i will let you know how it holds up.. on a side not how is Georgia treating you? i havent had much of a chance to chat with the shop being so busy... i apologise.
  18. different turbo, this high flow has a very open rear wheel so the 0.63 does'nt choke it. There is no more respone to be had with a controller or preload... we tried. This turbo with around 20psi will crack the 280-295 rkw no issues. That should be obvious just looking at the boost graph, any more preload and it will spike too much.
