  1. My first car was a Pintara (1991 model). Few people paid me out for it but it was perfect as a first car. Any early 90's NA smallish passenger car is perfect as a first. Any of these are up rather cheap and easy to fix. If funds and space allow, work on getting a project car (Skyline of any model) and use the opportunity to build it on the side to learn the bits and pieces without having to worry about putting it back together everytime you need to drive somewhere. Once your passed your P plate years, you have your dream car built up ready to go, plus a bit more experience behind the wheel which will allow you to enjoy driving it more, plus with the time you've spent building it up you'll have a lot more respect for the way you look after it once it is on the road. I dont believe your first car needs to be a hotted up beast, you will most likely create a bond with it anyway that wont be matched long after it is gone. If given the opportunity i would buy back my old Pinny in a heartbeat, the little baby did over 5000 pizza deliverys during my silly years and only ever asked for a gearbox rebuild and a clean every now and then.
  2. Save yourself the hassle Rip the back seat out, remove the rear seat belts and call it a 2 seater.
  3. Just asked the wife then. Main thing that came to her mind just then was that it is too hard to get into and out of. She has no issues about the money being spent as she has overseas holidays, fashion and a Credit card. I have the Skyline and maybe even start minor touchups on the Statesman to give it a bit more of a luxury/prestige look.
  4. Hmmm. Bit over a week later. No reply to my email. Except for the auto confirmation that they recieved my email. Im in no rush to get the parts but hmm. I'll wait another week for their reply before i buy the turbo first, then come back to this at a later date.
  5. Well. Ive emailed off for the proper quote on the pump and injectors. Time to get this thing prepped for a new turbo Thanks for the help
  6. Awesome. Thats exactly what i was hoping to hear. Thanks guys
  7. Hey Guys. Just been looking through Greenline motor sports http://www.greenline.jp/ at Nismo 555cc injectors and a Nismo Fuel pump. Prices appear to be very good compared to many local dealers. Now I've read that there is a longer wait for products through Greenline although after searching the forums didn't come up with much feedback. If anyone who has dealt with them in the past has any feedback as to ballpark how long delivery may take as well as how trustworthy they are as its a fair lump of cash to lose if it goes wrong. Cheers for any help. Luke
  8. Hey. Yeah the GTT front bar is the exact concept i have in mind. And yeah. i shudder at the price of the carbon blade and end caps. I think it will look good. I guess im a bit concerned (in regards to the rear wing) about the black blade being taken as fake carbon and ricey. Whereas my aim is simply to try and make it look sharp and trying to keep some form of originality, specially for a 33. Reckon ill keep it on the books as something worth a try. Once its done (gimme a month) ill post some pics
  9. Go the Nismo. My nismo style lip arrived yesterday. They seem to be quite uncommon unless im living in a hole. (Hang on, Country Victoria. I am in a hole). Sounds like a good mix you have there. Nice and subtle Luke
  10. Hey Guys. Just recieved my new GTR style spoiler and Front Lip and im looking for some ideas for when its painted. Now being a silver Skyline. The standard option is to paint both parts silver. But im really keen on the idea of making the centre part of the front lip (i.e below the intercooler) Black/Gunmetal and then silver for the rest, and having the Spoiler Silver with the Black/Gunmetal blade. Just wondering if anyone has any photos of skylines with either painted or even Carbon blades on their wings OR has a photo of a skyline with a blacked out centre part of the frontbar to help clarify my ideas. (Repainting because im not happy is too expensive). What are everyones thoughts? Heres a pic of the very quick trial fit. Please excuse the lack of straightness, and the rear Spoiler only sticks up because it is balancing on top of the factory wing. lol. Also excuse the wheels. Got one of them "screwed" on the way home from town the other day. So the whole lot are changed back for now. grrr
  11. Lol. 2 of my worst tracks besides the city circuits (just dont like them). I'll do a bit of work on the Nurburgring with a stock 95 R33 GTR Vspec to see what i can come up with. (using street soft tyres). Road tyres irritate me. It gives me the feeling of taking a car to the track with the spare tyre and stereo still in the car. (In otherwords. Why would you?? ) Still interested what people are getting on Tsukuba. I love that track. Surely there are other fans out there.
  12. Hey guys. After cracking the PS2 back out and playing Gran Turismo again. Interested to see what peoples best times are. Ive been working on mostly time attacking Tsukuba. I just cracked into a 41.9 with the formula gran turismo WITHOUT altering power or weight. And im interested to see how that compares to others. Also particulary interested in times people can get in other cars (with no restrictions, i.e qualify tyres and Nitrous are ok). Luke
  13. Im in the process of making one for my R33 gts-t out of a f/g with sheetmetal base. Hard to find anything in stores. Definately interested in what you's come up with and the final dimensions to check for compatibility.
  14. If anyone has any luck finding some of these yell out very loud. I would love to get one for the passenger side of my R33. Fantastic little things.
  15. I'm all for saying getting used to the power. Ive got all the main mods before changing turbo done (Except for ECU - own but not installed**) (so i will guesstimate 180rwkw) It doesn't feel that quick to me when i drive the car a bit. I mostly drive around a Holden Rodeo ute, when i swap back to the R33 for the first time in a couple of weeks all of a sudden it feels really quick again. Not to mention i find the time of day (Temperatures to make a massive difference to the way the car feels), A cool evening the car feels like it flies whereas on a hot day i find it frustrating and beg for more. lol. As a guide i usually change gears just before 6500 if im really going for it. No point dancing on the limiter, its not like the factory turbo comes onto boost at 5000 and goes on till 7500 Luke...
  16. Hey Guys. Just wondering what other people have done in regards to mounting Hand Controllers off a Power FC. Whether people are generally mounting them on their dash near the radio controls. Or concealing them away in different locations. Just after any cool suggestions as too what will work and what wont. Main points for my car. I want the Controller to be visible (when i feel like it), but then easily concealable inside the glove box or other similar position for when i don't want it to be noticed. I have gauges mounted on the top of the dash and a motorized DVD player as well as passenger side airbags which rules out a few options for mounting in that area. I guess i could leave in stashed in the center console somewhere but i would like it mounted so its visible for car shows, cruises etc. Maybe i have the option of between steering wheel and drivers door somewhere. If anyone has any good setups in use I would love to see some photos. (Car in mind is an R33 but of course anything is good for ideas) Cheers. Luke
  17. Thats awesome. Nothing looks out of place on it. Might have to pick up the magazine for a better look.
  18. Hey there Just tryed sending a message but ur inbox is full. I am very interested, i have a local source stating a similar price i believe which i am checking tommorow. I really am after one without the hand controller but if i cant find anything tommorow then I shall shall send a confirmation either tommorow night or tuesday morning, unless you sell it before then of course. But key me in for definately interested (And not argueing on price ). Cheers. Luke
  19. Only complaints i get is " Why do you modify it if its going to get you pulled over? " And shes hates that i dont let the Dog come to trips in it (He dribbles and drops a lot of hair), and that we dont enter any major public carpark. I guess i get it pretty well, my wife doesnt mind the coilovers as she suffers from car sickness, and hates bouncey suspension (I.e Holden Rodeo work ute), lets me spend whatever money i want on it (I have the car, she has her overseas holidays), and although she has NEVER driven a car since she got her licence (Over 10 years ago) she doesnt mind being driven around in something a bit nicer then ur average family hack. Be interesting now shes preg though. Shes letting me keep the R33, I have the work ute, and now we are also looking at buying the father in laws Statesman as a family car. LMAO i dont know if i can handle being the only driver of 3 different vehicles. But i certainly cant get rid of the Skyline (i have a decent bet that i would be made get rid of it once i got married) Luke...
  20. Hey mate. Good win. You've convinced me to start entering for some of these now. Cant wait to see the finished pics. How does it compare weightwise to the standard one?? Is there much in it? Also interested to know if it comes with a way of blocking out the rain. Luke.
  21. Ive had Jap Super Streets on my R33 for about 6 months now. Couldnt fault them. They felt stiff for about a week. Once i got used to the initial diff between them and standard. I dont even notice anymore. On some longer drives (couple of hour), the old body can feel a bit stiff but i wouldnt say its any worse then any other car ive been in. The only time i truely notice how stiff they are is when you hit a pot hole or a very sudden bump. Over normal bumps it isnt anything worth complaining about. My experience with the super streets is based on, stock 16" rims, Enkei 18" rims, as well as 15" rims with MT streets for the 1/4. They aint perfect for the strip but it certainly doesnt cause me to start making excuses about the suspension setup being unsuitable. As they are more then fine for me as everyday comfort. I am yet to take it to the circuit to see how it fairs around the track so i can't comment there. Luke
  22. I reckon theres one floating around bendigo here in Vic as well. I can only assume its real as almost every single part of the car has logos built in (not stickers). It is a Silver Gtt with T Wing spoiler, front side and rear diffusers. (Even the T wing has the logos built into it), definately an RB25 neo. It was in at my mechanics shop the other week for a service. I had a quick look through it and i reckon i could count at least 30 Tommy Kiara Logos. As well as massive sticker on each side of the car. Ive seen it around town a fair bit here and it never really floated my boat as i thought it just looked like something someones tried to fake. But after looking a lot closer my mind quickly changed. Certainly not something you see every day. As for estimated price. I wouldnt have a clue Luke
  23. Ok few more progress pics. Turning into a very drawn out procedure. But slowly getting there. The False Floor over the top still needs to have the height set properly (being held up by paint cans there) lol. As well as they need to be trimmed and Fibreglassed. As well as need to make up Fibreglass walls to conceal all the ugly bits. And heaven forbid. Some blue lighting to light up the Visible Areas. And underneath the false Floor. White strobes which will light up through the amp holes and sub holes. And for all the people who think. NEONS WHAT???? Ive designed the whole system to be removable in about 15 minutes for Track work, by keeping all parts modular, and using plugs on all the wiring. Just a case of actually making it look ok now. Opinions would be good. Although odviously they aint gunna be much because it looks very half done still. Color scheme of install will be Silver with metallic blue. Cheers. Luke
  24. Good find. Bit technical for my head on a Sunday arvo. But interesting how they even offer equations to work out the diff. I'll have to have another look when im thinking better.
  25. Hey guys. After my last trip to Heathcote and a new PB, 13.8 at 103mph on MT streets and 14.1 at 103mph on stockys. Anyways. i am not too unhappy with the times although i hoped for a bit more. Hence this question. On the day there was a very strong head wind. On the 13.8 the wind speed was slightly over 21km/h according to the timeslip. Odviously this is going to have some effect to the time (especially when looking at the effect wind has on say a golf ball). Surely someone who has spent a fair bit of time on the 1/4 might have a bit of insite on how much difference the wind generally makes. whether 20+ winds are measurable in tenths or not and if so by roughly how much. Cheers. Luke
