  1. Hmm. I have to agree. Funnily enough I find most of the guys out breath testing and "randomly" pulling me up for a look at the car are usually as "normal" as a person can get. However every time I've ever had to talk to anybody operating the front counter in the station. WOW For some reason all the guys with no personality always seem to get the role of dealing with people at the counter. Get these guys either out the back doing paperwork or get them out doing something useful. I'm sure there are cool people with personality in the police force that would be much better representatives to the force for that role. Its no different to any business/company/group etc. If you have no personality then chances are you won't be first choice at dealing with the public/customers etc. All about having the right person in the right job.
  2. Yeah I'd definately be interested. Been looking at going to a Winton fun day for a while. +1 For the I have a car but it isn't ready option. I won't be entering the 33 onto a circuit until I have an Oil Cooler and some Brake mods. So could be a year. Could be 2. But it will happen. Until then 1/4 mile only as its a bit less taxing on the car. Personally time attack would be ideal. Do the lap and get the car off to cool down to save on wear and tear.
  3. Liking that a lot. Very sharp
  4. No BOV and Atmo BOV. Same end result. The measurements from the AFM will be buggered up causing the stalling. (as it does in soooooo many skylines with altered BOV setups. Plumb in a stocko BOV in the factory location with return pipe running between the afm and turbo inlet and see if that solves your problems before you go hunting too hard for unknowns.
  5. Lol What is wrong with that? Sounds like a good night out I'm all the for idea of running an Air Filter around the street (lol. What a crazy thought). Depending on your cars purpose and look. Running a Bellmouth on the turbo would look good for shows / drag but not good long term reliability.
  6. Lol at getting caught. But I could only imagine it would be hard to hold yourself back in one of them. If only they would start targeting everything else to even the playing field. They won't start targeting exotics as they are typically stock and owned by wealthy people with a team of legal aid. Jap imports are just far to simple to defect. Its almost a sure bet that if you pull any given import over that you won't need to look to hard. No point targeting generic cars and you need to look harder to find any defects. You only have to see the way they open the hood of a skyline and go straight to BOV, Boost control and Cut holes for intercooler.
  7. Bump guys. Any installation tips at all? These are driving me insane. Managed to get the hose in the red ring using rubber bands to compress the hose. But whilst doing it up, the nut would tighten but just push the hose out instead of locking it in place. Any help would be great. Luke
  8. Lol. Thats to target all the potential customers who gave up waiting for this, sold there PS3 and got an Xbox 360 and Forza.
  9. Hey guys. To save opening a new thread I might as well update this. I have the fittings I need. Just wondering if anyone has any tips to getting the braided line to actually fit inside the red nut on the fittings. So close to getting it but there must be an easier way!!! Any ideas what I could use to compress the pipe enough to slip it through. Cheers. Luke
  10. That's amazing for a first attempt. None of my DIY's of anything ever come up that good. Depending how fast its getting repaired that could make for a bit of a money earner on the weekends for people that do minor damage but don't want to get insurance involved. Use the money to fund further mods.
  11. lol. I'm glad you explained the brittle thing. Cuz Whoa. I have no idea what you just said. All that went through my mind was Grant Denier drives racecars. LMAO
  12. Stainless Intake for AFM to turbo is complete, just need to Polish up and connect up the breather fittings. Turbo exit to Cooler Inlet pipe is spot welded for trial fit and fits like a glove. So that will be final welded on Monday. Thanks to BBL stainless in Bendigo. Been a very good place to deal with so far and very happy with the work. Also for the sake it of putting a photo of my workspace in the shed (bit messy. Couldn't be bothered cleaning it for a photo). Needs some more additions to the wall but otherwise yeah.. And. After having a play with the Inlet Plenum. I have decided that there is too much swearing and anger involved in taking it off to polish. So I have bitten the bullet and will leave it until after the car is running and tuned and just get a workshop to do the work. The amount of hours involved as well as all the comments i've read on here about the hell involved in the job. Not going to be viable for my time structure atm. Looks like all I need to do now is connect up all the braided breather hoses (looks like it wont be fun getting the fittings on), sort out the BOV return pipe whether to go braided or stainless hard pipe. Then reassemble the main pipework and its all done ready for tune. Woohoo. So close now to getting her back on the road. Cheers guys. Luke
  13. Personally whilst I would never ever do this to my own car. I do find this interesting, seen pics of this type of thing before. We can't all modify in the same way, so it makes for a humorous easy going break to all the pure hearted performance cars you normally see which are more track then street. And what is it about all the jap girls at those events that is slightly awesome
  14. Car looks really clean. Maybe lower it a bit more. I don't mind the wheels. They do look a touch small but the color and style of them looks really good on the white.
  15. Hey guys. Just commenting on something just on the news like 5 seconds ago. S2 R33 gts-t with red seat covers. I didn't hear the full story but sounded like an L plater doing a runner (160km/h or so) from cops in Melb??? Then driving up the wrong side of the road and ramming in a cop car. Princes Hwy??? I think it was Might be old news. Not to sure. Just another case of "wrongful breeding" stuffing it for everyone else. When is the government going to put a lock on everyone's reproductive organs requiring tough licensing to get it working. Anyone got any more details on this one? Luke.
  16. Lol at the Pidgeons. That'd scare the heck out of me. I dont even carry a spare. Once you've had a drive on them when they are flat then its generally too late to replace. When the flat tyre comes off the rim (if its been driven whilst flat) its usually filled with powdery rubber. The only time i've ever had a tyre blow out on me was a long time ago when my ol Lancer got into a drift (in the dry around a corner, NO handbrake) hit a gutter side on and blew out front and rear passenger side tyres. Needless to say that only ever happened once a very long time ago now.
  17. They pretty much all have 4 wheel steer until you remove it for better handling reasons. Hmm. Maybe someone with a gts-4 can comment more on the loss of traction. I'm under the impression it should have the same system as the gtr being mostly RWD with a loss of traction putting drive into the front wheels to stop the wheel spin. Whether it isn't working properly/disconnected or so forth. I don't know.
  18. Being 4wd you shouldn't have to worry bout wheel spin at your power level.
  19. Lightweight 18" FTW. Width>Height
  20. 4wd. So extra weight with no extra power. That will hurt times immediately. You should be able to launch from 5-6k + rpm to get off the mark quicker. I would get the car Dyno'd just to get a power reading so you know roughly what you dealing with. If it reads low then you can start searching for the problem. If it reads about what it should be then that is just what your car will do without mods. Whats your mates knowledge of the subject? Fairly detailed? or just a bloke that sat in the passenger seat for 5 minutes?
  21. Hehe. After reading that comment. I have no answer to that comment I guess I have a bit of a thing for quality photos because all the photos I take always suck.
  22. Arrrhhh. That looks much better now the rotor is shiny again. lol. You had me worried. As for the logo. When I painted mine I just hit the logo with a file to remove the paint of the writing. Came up well. Need to redo mine soon though. Looking worse for wear.
  23. In theory it should create a small intake leak. Due to the fact there is no valve to stop air getting to that leak from the AFM side. Air will be measured through the AFM then have potential to go up the BOV return pipe and out the leak causing tune issues. Small leak probably wouldn't make a massive difference I wouldn't think but I'm sure it would have some effect. The larger the leak the more it will throw the tune out. Never actually tested with a leak to prove this though.
  24. One word. " FAIL " Even those love heart exhaust tips are be cooler then this. Cheap and Tacky FTL
  25. No I found her in the other window on my browser. That code is insane. Love it. Infact. Misspost of the year.
