Couple of options. 1. Local Phonebook for a plumber if you have any concerns at all. 2. Can you DIY??. Is it leaking from a burst/split pipe or a connection into a fitting? More detail req. Although im not local to your area I work on the trade counter at a plumbing supplier over here and may with a bit more detail (and maybe a photo) be able to offer some suggestions on what you may need to fix it. Also on this copper pipe if there are any numbers/writing it may help in regards to sizing. Im assuming when you say a "strange" copper pipe that you have no idea what it is running too? Only thing about plumbers are there are no "standards". Some are brilliant, some are pathetic. Some charge more then a fortune and some are fairly cheap. Lol. Sounds a bit like mechanics really. Just make sure you get a few quotes before going ahead with one. I've heard many stories of people quoting $500 for a job that someone else could have done for $100

Hate to say it. But that has to make you feel confident about the car holding together with that power. Theres enough direct fit kits out there now not to have to adapt up something that doesnt belong. If I were you I'd be looking over everything that you know is modified to double check everythings done up correctly/ no leaks etc. Just in case. The Joys of buying a premodified car. You may say money on the mods. But you also have to put up with anything they did that wasn't right.

What you could do is remove the headlight and install a bucket in its spot like a giant air scoop to guide it to the filters bucket. Maybe you could cut another bucket up to use as a coilpack cover. red will make it faster. black will hide it from the cops better I might be wrong here but I would be a bit nervous using bucket plastic as a blocking plate for a bov. What if some of the plastic breaks off from the pressure and ended up in the pipework. Would hate to see a laugh turn ugly.

Agreed some form of evidence should be necessary. I'd hate to see someones pride and joy get crushed over something completely minor (i.e lsd noises) doing a U turn being claimed as hooning. That being said you would have to be having a bad day to be nabbed 3 times for very lame non hoon offenses. Regardless the possibility is their as it is at the officers digression. What I dont understand is how everything is now marked as hooning. - If your doing 150km/h + on the road you should be charged with excessive speeding and reckless endangerment. - If your doing a burnout you should be charged with dangerous driving and public nuisance - If your street racing against someone then you should get slapped with all of the above. Badging the whole lot as "hooning" really pulls it away from the real offense. Every offense should be treated for exactly what it is. If your putting especially high risk areas at risk (i.e residential areas, city centres, blackspots) then they should be charged accordingly. Stop calling a garden spade a shovel just because you don't want them to feel small.

Would truck ones be color options? lol I forgot to mention. Must be blue to match engine bay.

If your going to challenge it. You need to be extremely confident you only just went through yellow and you definately didn't have time to stop. If by the time the light turned yellow somebody who was looking at the lights had time to stop then don't waste your time appealing as they will just show the video and you'll wear it much worse. The problem is its not just industrial areas. The 1st of January this year a "hoon" who happened to be a drunk unlicensed person crashed into our front yard whilst sliding around a corner. 2nd time someone has slid around the corner into properties in the last 3 years on this 1 intersection. (last time it was our next door neighbour) At the end of the day their are people driving out their that are a pure pain in the ass to the rest of us. If you go flying around me on the roads being ridiculously stupid don't be surprised if i try and get your plates because the plate I just wrote down belongs to a person causing me to be afraid to drive my Skyline on the road for fear of harassment whilst doing the right thing. Hey guys. Just in the process of getting some pricing together on a mixture of silicon joiners/elbows and reducers. Getting prices so far on Turbosmart and Plazmaman. Used turbosmart before and quality is great but price is expensive. Has anyone used plazmaman silicon parts to vouch for their quality? Also is there any other brands people can recommend for me to price up. Must be good quality and price competitive (note competitive. not bargain bin). Currently only sent an email to one of the business traders on site pending reply. Quick price at autobarn (ouch on certain bits), and plazmamans website. Cheers for any thoughts and suggestions. (as i'm looking in the vicinity of $300 or more so its worth so its worth looking around) Luke

Whats the bet. Suspended sentence and maybe a month or 2 in a low security mental health rehab clinic. I would almost consider putting $50 on it .

I personally don't mind this law. As long as authority's treat it with the respect this degree of decision making deserves. There are people out there who really shouldn't be on the roads. The amount of people on the news lately is testament to that. Cars should only be crushed if they will have no hope of passing a roadworthy without major work (worth more as scrap). The money made from selling these confiscated cars should be put towards real things that will help prevent this. I.e Venues for people too use their performance vehicles in the correct setting. Real road toll fixes. Oh and drink driving offenses should definitely count in the same bracket and should have matching "confiscation" rules. I think Politicians forget sometimes that car enthusiasts are voters as well. Not only are we voters, but we are people who spend our money. All this money supports Australia businesses and families and creates jobs. I alone would have spent no less then 5k on parts alone last year. Last I remember the government were giving us money begging us to spend it. I just hope that authorities observe our rights and are realistic. Treat those that flaunt these rules showing hideous behavior should absolutely get everything thrown that them. If someone ACCIDENTALLY slips the wheels in the wet trying to take off up a hill or their LSD kicks in around the corner. Then this is really a non event and doesn't have any attributing factors whatsoever to a person trying to get a thrill out of risk taking on our roads. Final plea to the government and policing groups. Please to god get all those drink driving whilst hooning whilst snortin drugs whilst already lost their license 2 years ago but continue driving and causing trouble even though they have been caught 4 times since losing their license off our roads. Every single time it is these people that cause ALL these story's to pop up and effect the rest of us. My 2c. Luke

Hey guys. Just wondering when people have upgraded their turbos what they have done with the pipe work between the turbo inlet and the AFM. My Hypergear turbo has a larger inlet then the factory turbo (kind of makes sense really ). Now I am quite animate about wanting to stick with the factory Airbox and not a podfilter for legal reasons. Now if I can stick with the factory rubber intake which would be preferable I will be chopping the AFM side to add a metal intake. So i guess the 2 issues im seeing is that I need to find some form of soft adapter to go over the turbos inlet. Then drop down in size to a hard inlet for the rubber pipe. I can see this is easy on paper. But in reality I will probably hit some drastic space issues. What have you guys been using? Or does nobody make any effort to retain the airbox these days? (Even though half my engine bay is painted or being polished. I would like it to actually be an effort to find the defects and not just scream out at them. Cheers for any help. Luke

Something like the Jap spec R35. If all new model cars came with an up datable GPS system. Im sure it would be possible to speed limit all cars to 115 on all freeways, maybe 80 for areas classed as suburban. Then have particular areas. I.e Racetracks at an open speed limit. Which these areas if updated would be fixable in the "latest version". Yes. I know methods will be produced to "crack" the software. If 99% of cars retain the limit and only 1% get it unlocked. There will still be far less speed availability on offer when it isn't needed. Once again though. This would take money to develop which would also mean we all get pinned for more money. At the end of the day to all the people caught doing the wrong thing. All these cases seem to be repeat offenders. They get caught doing the wrong thing, get away with a slap on the wrist then realise the punishment isn't that serious. Sadly when your gambling you need to be prepared to lose.

If we win a decent amount but not rediculous on tatslotto. Then an R35 gtr and an Audi family car. Otherwise. If i was to change the family car. Maybe a newer model statesman or something along those lines. Really wouldn't worry me as I don't get much enjoyment out of driving them. I may get rid of the R33 gts-t one day. Most likely if I ever get another performance car I will save up and wait another 20 years for my planned midlife crisis and get something more exotic and leave it standard. Unless I win the jackpot I have no intentions of buying a new car in the near future for hobby purposes. Luke

Hmmm. My tats ticket wasn't lucky the other night. Sadly $40 won't go far towards something like that and even if it did I wouldn't be able to eat for another week. Damn me and my spending habits.

Yeah. Whatever it takes is good enough. Chicanes would be good. Neighbours have complained for years from what they have told me and the council ain't even managed to put up a giveway sign.

Always good to train the swing on the ones that come close to the body. What better way then against people trying to get through your window.

Getting The Best Finish Possible After Painting

Thats fantastic. Exactly what im looking for thankyou. Sounds like a job for the dremmel if I can find a decent attachment. Yes I do use a clearcoat. Typically only a couple of coats though. I'm terribly impatient and have a habit of spraying a bit thick on each coat. I know I do it but can't help myself from putting too much on. Lol. That paint is a drug I swear. -
Definately POTY so far. The rest of us have a lot of catching up too do. This knox meetup thing sounds interesting. I'll have to check my map on how to get there and turn it into a road trip. I reckon I could dust off a couple of old neons from the shed and bolt them and a 9v battery to my skateboard to bring along as well. (yes i've done that before ). Bring the Daily driver, don the ol cardboard kit, and a giant lego spoiler on the back.

Lol at all the people with weapons in their cars. I like the fire extinguisher though and probably more effective considering your sitting on your butt and cant take a decent swing with bats/clubs etc. Craziest I've seen is a bloke from my MA class. His car's standard list was 3 wooden swords, pair of sai's, couple of padded staffs, couple of unpadded staffs, as well as a mixture of other random bits that seemed to change on a weekly basis. I kept telling him he is up the creek without a paddle if he got pulled over for a breatho especially when its all sitting behind the front seats spilling onto the back seat. Many years ago as a young lad on a day trip to Melbourne I remember seeing a car cut off a cyclist. The cyclist must have known about the lights around the corner cuz he sped up and when the car stopped at the red he started belting on the car and yelling out. Bloke in the car jumped straight out for a go. In the end we were all pulled up behind them at the green light. With a few motorists with their heads out windows telling them to get out of the road (in less nice words). Had never seen anything like it before at the time. Probably in the top 10 highlights of my childhood. lol

I am amazed Family guy has gotten away with most of what they say for so long without being cut by the "friendly mothers club group" or the "world isn't allowed to say anything about anything foundation". Along with the same groups not letting kids taking peanuts to school + many other possible examples. Its only a matter of time until you can't buy a bloody biscuit with sugar sprinkled on top because the sugar is a "choking hazard" p.s. The ad is soft. Nothing wrong with it. The public is just a bunch of "letter writers" with no real knowledge about what they write about. my 2c. Luke

More sleep, less alco will fix the eyes How did you fail last time? What grade sandpaper did you use? What did you do after you sanded to finish the job? Ive never sanded mine. Just used an old T shirt/ singlet and get good results out of whatever brand polish I have in the shed at the time. Goes from a lightish color with yellow tinge. When finished the headlights look much darker. Only takes 2-3 minutes per side. Repeat roughly every couple of months. I did try meguiars metal polish once but found that just a general general brand polish did just as gooda job.

Getting The Best Finish Possible After Painting
l_uk3y posted a topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Hey guys. Just wondering if any painting pro's on the site have any tips as to getting a better finish from your home job. After spraying a fair few engine bay components in a metallic blue. The color looks good but I believe it needs some form of finishing like a very light polish to completely smooth it off and make it pop. Although im worryed that if I just go willy nilly without a plan I will underdo all the work ive done painting it. Any tips? Luke -
The problem is its a fairly wide road and although lots of houses, there is very little traffic. There is ample opportunity to be on the power for quite a while. Although I haven't tried I believe my 33 would be more then capable of reaching 160-180 with a bit of effort on the entry corner (50 zone). At the end it goes uphill for the last 100 metres. Right at the top of the hill instantly hit a T intersection (with this run being the stop and wait direction). (No street signs either) In this case the VN according to a resident who ran up the road after the car (lol) said the kid was on the power the entire way before braking at the top and trying to get around the corner. So if there were speed bumps and a VN is capable of uncomfortably going over at 80km/h then we would still be better off then we are now. Turns out its not the first time. Our next door neighbour had someone crash into a friends car parked out the front of there house then follow through into their carpark hitting their own car as well a couple of years ago. I think History has it right. If someones trying to bust their way in. Build a wall. When that doesn't work add a moat. And if your still in trouble then you better invent a gun for when they make it through. Luke

Best place is your shed with a couple of rags and some good polish. Otherwise I guess ask your preferred Mechanic if they can do that type of thing as an extra on top of a service. Cheers. Luke

What other interior mods do you have planned? I.e How far are you planning on taking it? For something simple a two tone of a darker grey with a silver highlights is common but fairly effective if decent quality. A Slightly darker grey then standard would look good as well if trying to keep it simple. If your going something like Candy red to match other parts of the car. You really would need retrimmed front and rear seats/ steering wheel etc. Otherwise the rest of the interior will look lost compared to the dash. To do the whole lot will add up very quickly unless you can do it all urself. (Unless your just looking at small highlights in the color, but you would still need something else to back it up like seat covers or gear boots. etc) Luke
