Hi Neil, i will confirm for you later this afternoon mate. -
Howdy all... Saturday 28th March 2009. Now those of you in this scene who have been around for a while, will know that booking Eastern Creek is hard yards… getting a weekend date some say is “impossible” but we have been fortunate to infact secure a date for Autosports for March 2009. We do infact have two other weekend dates for 2009 although I am not able to confirm the additional dates till after the New Year. •The day is going to be run with official timing •The day will have 6 driver trainers (including John Boston) •Cost is $275 per driver •There is strictly 70 positions with no exceptions •14 cars per group max •5 groups running 15 minute sessions Gates open at 7.00am We will have allocated pit garages for every position at no extra charge. All drivers are to be ready for the on-track briefing which starts at 8.00am sharp. This will include your group infact driving onto the track with an instructor to infact stop and get out of the car and look at the various conditions for each corner… you will have the instructor explaining the best approach to apex’s and braking markers. At 9.00am sharp the experienced drivers group will start their first session. At 9.00am sharp the newbie groups will go into the upstairs rooms and receive further instruction about the track and how to get the most out of it as safe as possible. By 9.20am the newbie’s driver training sessions upstairs will have finished and the second group will be out on the track. We will run the group sessions all day and will not be stopping for lunch. •Payment needs to be made within 14 days of booking or the position will be listed as available to others (we have to pay for the entire event upfront) Now i know that March next year sounds like a long way away... considering that we have Christmas coming up, then the New Year break most people will not be back to work till Feb 09. I also will be out of the country from December 28th 2008 till January 31st 2009. I have to pay for this event upfront to suffice the desires of Eastern Creek management. I want to have this all arranged, booked and paid for so i am not going to be worrying about it come February next year. Couple of other points; 1.Once positions are booked as stated above, I require payment in full within 21 days. If payment is not made the confirmed and reserved position will be cleared and offered publicly. 2.Should someone for any reason whatsoever not be able to attend after making payment, the position can be transferred but only after officially informing me personally so i can make sure the payment records are in absolute order. 3.Passengers are not permitted under any circumstances 4.Driver trainers are available to all patrons at no additional charge 5.Official timing is provided at no extra charge. Times will be recorded and posted up online before the end of the day 6.Spectators are permitted at no extra charge. No children under the age of 16 are permitted in the pit area without adult supervision. 7.All drivers must bring there own helmet and be wearing suitable closed in footwear as well as long sleeve shirts and pants. I am absolutely stoked to be able to confirm this date... I want to make sure that the organisational aspects are first class so that i can secure more events for us at Eastern Creek. Guys and Girls... It pains me to type this thread but due to the Autosports website/forum being hacked by some mofo, i am really in a pickle and need some help from you guys. Due our website/forum being hacked and the fact that i can not communicate with everyone about the coming trackday at Wakefield which is in less than two weeks time, i still have 20 positions that i need to fill. If i dont fill them, the money comes out of my pocket. I know you guys have been great supporters of AUTOsports events and i would very much appreciate your urgent assistance. If you were interested in coming not this Sunday but next Sunday (or a mate) to Wakefield, this is what we have on offer; $180 per person Driver Trainers Full official timing we run 5 groups with 10 minute sessions Given that the AUTOsports site is still crashed, i need people who want to register to ring me direct on 0408255005 or email me at [email protected] Again guys... i appreciate your assistance even if you know someone else who may be interested in coming along. Thanks in advance!

Yes there are some seriously quick cars coming to this event. Elias is going to be there in his S2000 and John from UAS will be there with the big black slotcar. There is already a few very quick Evo's coming down as well as a couple of super quick NA two wheel drive cars... looking like it is going to be a great event. Superkarts will be confirmed in around a weeks time... yes they are a freaking crazy thing to grasp driving. To give people an idea of how fast they are, This is Todd Kelly who qualified on pole at the 2007 V8Supercars round at Eastern Creek 1 22 Holden Racing Team Todd Kelly Holden Commodore VE 5000 15 14 1:31.6332* This is Ashley Walsh in his Formula Ford, at the same event 1 45 CAMS Rising Star Ashley Walsh Spectrum 011b 1600 8 2 1:36.9371* Here are the 4 fastest qualifiers from the Superkarts at the last Shannon's Nationals round at Eastern Creek 1 16 "Safe Evolutions,Kartech Karti Darren Hossack (VIC) Anderson 250I 3 1 1:30.7521* 2 27 ZIP BDH Luke May (VIC) Zip 250I 9 7 1:31.5493 0:00.7972 3 9 "NEC Automotive,SZ Racing" Stephen Castles (VIC) Stockman 250I 3 3 1:31.5644 0:00.8123 4 7 "RMR Superkarts,Wizzer Engines Matthew Wall (VIC) Anderson 250I 9 5 1:31.5748 0:00.8227 -
Howdy all, seems we already have a few SAU folk listed as coming down for our next Wakefield event. They suggested that some of you guys might be interested in coming along and to post it up here. So here it is if you want to register > http://autosports.com.au/events/view/11 Wakefield Park Saturday 13th September $180 per person Includes timing Driver trainers at no additional charge, John Boston and Paul Kemal. This event we are going to be running a mini "time-attack" session in the middle of the day with the top 5 fastest cars in each class from the times throughout the morning sessions. This will also see some trophys for three seperate classes including 4WD, 2WD NA, 2WD Turbo. These trophys will be held by the winner of each class and there name and car will be engraved onto them. At the next event the trophy holder will either defend the class and trophy and retain or hand over to the person that beats him/her. We arnt playing for sheep-stations but it will be fun and will be good for bragging rights hehe. In saying that i know that there is some pretty serious cars already registered and it should be a good intro for those wanting to get into Superlap next year. We will also have the NSW Superkart Club down with us again. If anyone is interested in infact having a drive of the Superkarts (which will blow your freaking mind away) just let me know. I will be putting down an expression of interest for those who infact have some motorsport experience and would like to have a drive. At our last event one of the 250cc Superkarts lapped Wakefield on cold tyres in 0.58.60! With all due respect, if you dont have any motorsport experience i am afraid that jumping into a 250cc Superkart would probably not be good for your health. If anyone needs any help with any information or help registering for the event, let me know 0408255005.

Thats awsome Harry... get rid of that Supra and put your time into the 1200!!!
-
Dont worry John, thats why things are taking a little longer than expected becuase we want to make sure that it turns and stops the way we want it to as well as importantly put the power down hehe I remember someone saying that to me a few years ago when i told them of this project.
-
can not wait to have them on the track together Harry... its been a long time coming getting this car ready but i am starting to get pumped about it. John Taylor is coming over next week to have a look at things and then taking it to his place to start getting the suspension sorted. Just working out a few details at the moment about the brakes etc but it starting to come along good. Also getting the thing ready for paint not long after, its still sitting in bare-metal as it has been for about 6 months now. Amazingly there isnt any sign of even any surface rust. Still dont know if it is going to be black in colour or yellow... time will tell. The weight difference between the SR and the CA although different, isnt infact that much from what i have learnt in recent weeks. We are also looking at mounting the engine as far back towards the firewall as possible as well to combat the difference. Going to pick up the fuel cell and a few other goodies this afternoon as well.
-
Dont worry about Evo's John... we need the rear wheel drive cars with some decent power out there to upset them This will be ready for the 2009 series with around 450hp SR20 in it which will be nice with only around 750kg's... GIDDYUP!!!
-
did i say i want a Honda S2000 turbo ?
-
You are not the first person to suggest this to me JP and i am seriously giving it some consideration
-
I still have no idea how there can be an opinion that the playing field is different because someone has more (even be it a variant) of motorsport experience or driving ability. There is no plausible argument to it whatsoever. Driving ability + Car V’s Driving ability + Car. = Superlap Bozz doesn’t need anyone to blow the wind up his arse and say how good of a driver he is. And truth be known, other than a stint with the BSM Skyline for a few rounds in last years IPRA with Lofty, an endurance drive down at Wakefield and a Mazda endurance drive in Japan last year in which none of them he was paid for! Bozz hasn’t raced anywhere near as much as a number of people I saw out there on Saturday and i travel to a lot of motorsport events all over Australia. I am happy to debate anyone on the subject because again “Champs” there is no plausible argument to the subject. And for the record... i havnt tried to be cheeky, just saying it how it is.
-
I think you are onto something there champs... thats a good idea! But in my opinion, if you arnt up to it... dont turn up EASY. If you have aspirations to emulate his driving ability, get out on the track more. Again EASY.
-
Saturday 19th July at Wakefield with timing, seeya there Datto is coming along fine mate, decided to ditch the IPRA regs and the CA and now using a SR20 set up with NO RESTRICTORS hehehe. Car will be ready before the end of the year. See if we can have another rear wheel drive turbo car give some of the 4WD cars a scare hehe The big difference is, they can not ban me i am fat and slow. I am however better looking than Bozz!!! All is good and good to see you guys on the weekend, take care
-
Howdy all… I just wanted to say, that I can’t not believe this complete dribble from people about Bozz driving someone’s car! Seriously if can not drive your car as fast as it can be driven you shouldn’t of entered this event and if you did… the promoters of this event mislead you of there real intensions of what they were trying to achieve. SUPERLAP = Trying to achieve the fastest lap in the class of car, not driver. SUPERDRIVER might equal a group of drivers driving the same car and seeing who can get the best out of it. I suggest if you are concerned about the fact that someone is faster than you, stop complaining about it and get out on the track and practise more. How many of the cars entered in the Tsukuba event in Japan (on which this event was suppose to be based on), were driven by there owners? Near none of them, because the cars are owned by tuning houses who hire drivers to get the best out of them to help sell there wares. THIS WAS A DRIVING EVENT WAS IT NOT??? One thing that I couldn’t believe when I went with Bozz to the drivers briefing was when "Nathan" the apparent promoter said to Bozz Quote “Bozz I will ban you from driving that car next year” Unquote. Bozz then said Quote “easy I will find another car to drive” Unquote. Nathan’s comeback was then Quote “well I will just ban you then” Unquote This wasn’t said in jest or with any humor… he was serious to the point where I know Bozz was embarrassed to be in his company of him and left the room. I have to say I know others heard the comment and also thought the sameas me but for the sake of harmony wont say anything. So rather than saying congratulations for the tremendous talent display and for setting the benchmark in driving standards, Nathan’s obvious lack of experience in both life and event promotion gave him the idea that bagging the most talented driver on the day was the best choice. Good on ya Nathan you twit! This type of event has so much potential, I really hope that a lot was learnt and future events are operated in a lot more professional manner. Even more so considering that people was asked to pay to get into the event. (which i didnt have a problem about doing) A couple of things that I could not believe about the day that had so much potential No officials… I can not understand given the format of the day that there were no officials. Other than the Evo on its lid and the time taken for officials to get to it, there were also a number of situations where people with expired cars were out on the track for what seemed the remainder of the session regardless of where they were located. I saw one red R32 waving his hands for 10minutes before someone came and sorted it out and got him a tow back. Some of the people entering with none or very little driving experience. The RX7 who’s engine let go continuing on around the track with no regard to others who were suppose to be pushing it, was absolutely amazing… I have never seen anything like it. The amount of people in pit lane, the people smoking on the pit wall… that’s just stupid. At one stage I even saw someone sitting on the pit wall!!! Brett Middleton with his experience speeding in pits like he was and then the incident in which I personally witnessed him run into the back of the white R34 coming into Recaro. That alone should of seen him being kicked out! No action was taken whatsoever by the officials and then for Brett to then go and put blame on the other driver for “braking to early” FCUK me he is lucky he didn’t get more than he did. Tosser! All in all I think that it is great to finally have an event like this of the ground. I just really do hope that a lot more thought goes into the promotion and structure before the next because if it doesn’t there is no way that it will get of the ground amongst REAL motorsport enthusiasts and will be simply limited to the street car scene and not include the likes of the quality experienced operators there on the day. Highlights for me; The Lotus’s were amazingly fast as per usual. The BMW M3 sounded like it was revving to 10,000rpm and looked fat. Great to see Mark and Russ out there ripping it up as they do (two of the nicest blokes in Australian motorsport). Also good to see Marty Notaris with his newly built car… look out for him in the Dutton! Here are a few of my pics from the day
