If you don't have any assets, are you sure you can afford to maintain an R34GTR? I do think it's a good idea to sell your house and buy the two units though, but perhaps a GTR isn't the best thing to spend 60k on.

Can't agree more; I guess it depends on his age/financial status. As everyone has mentioned, try and scrape that extra few k's together and grab a turbo mate. If you want skyline you have to do it right.

Turbo would set him back at LEAST another 3-4k for a series 2 though, unless he's not fussed on what series he gets.

R34 GT-T all the way! Definately my favourite of all the cars I've driven. My motto is: always buy the newest car out of your options list. It will last you longer, be more practical, and be cheaper to maintain.

Does the extra kw from the 33 to the 34 make a significant difference? My mate reckons he'll burn me even though he only has a catback vs my turbo back.

Nope. 3rd party + fire and theft cover you get from RACQ or Just Cars or whatever covers ANYTHING you hit, but NOT your car. Comprehensive covers whatever you hit PLUS your car.

I played a PS3 the other night; certainly wasn't impressed. Sixth-axis feels like a cheap gimmick to me, and the console is large enough to make a crater when dropped. However I'll reserve final judgement 'til I see Metal gear solid, tekken, final fantasy and Gran Turismo on it

I do it sometimes as well. Saw a nice 33 with drift teks the other day and had to take a piccy. So please, dont bash EVERY person you catch eying your car folks.

Import Auto Centre - I got dicked around for half a day. I wasn't allowed to drive the car I wanted to buy and was talked to rudely by a member of staff. In addition, I was treated as if I knew as little as the salespeople did. Mark (the manager) seemed nice and was good to his word, but a lot of the cars there I wouldn't touch with a 10ft pole. Rusted 180 for 14k? no thanks! Motorman - One of the sales people (must have been Paul) was really cool. He was friendly and reasonable and gave us advice that would help US and not the company. I had a look at the cars in their lot, and condition didn't match the claimed Klms.
