im trying to mount my AVCR into the r34 DIN area. ive got a piece of cardboard behind the AVCR in the pic. i want the AVCR to sit flush. any ideas?
-
omg, i thought this was only happening to me, got a 34 gtt, and the battery has carked it (although recently, its been better than before). i was having a power leak for a while. i get home from work at 6pm, and i start the car in the morning at about 8.30am. atm, the charge when i turn the key is about 11.4v, a while back, i would reach like 10, and sometimes under. sometimes, i would just barely start the car. leaving it for a couple days not driven will need a jump start. my prev battery was from nrma, and they replaced it with another one about 2 months ago. the old one was completely funked.

from the title, all parts are brand new from nissan timing belt = $60 ono waterpump (r34) = $180 ono speed sensor (r34) = $200 ono prices are pickup from strathfield area, sydney will cost more to have it posted out. timing belt will fit any rb25 afaik, waterpump is for the r34 gtt, and speed sensor should fit r33, but unsure, so do ur own research.

R34 Gtt Random Parts

yay freebie! ill take the ashtray! pm sent! -
hmm profec b, the boys at Unique autosports patched in one of those in the midst of my boost problems... even though it held the boost better, there was still significant boost drop. the avcr on the other hand worked the treat. you can increase the duty according to rpm, and throughout each gear. also has a self-learn process, so itll adjust better as you drive. might wanna try out the avcr. my 2c..
-
For all those interested, i finally got my AVCR installed 2day. produced 261.1rwkw on a dyno dynamics. held 18psi throughout. ill be leaning it out abit in a few weeks, as it is a tad bit too rich for my liking. BUT, the boost controller fixed the prob. 666DAN: what kind of boost controller u got there bro?
-
i got the exact same problem bro! i have serious suspicions about the highflow work. is it a gcg by any chance?
-
looks like i spoke too soon.... car went on the dyno this afternoon, and its still dropping boost. in fact according to the dynograph, there isnt any change from before at all! ive ruled my blitz boost gauge as faulty... a few people reckon it might be the boost controller, so with the less expensive options knocked out of the way, my next move is to go electronic on the boost controller.. spin out!! btw, a friend was saying that by upping the gain through an electronic boost controller, youre causing stress on the turbo.. any insight on the matter???
-
Looks like ive solved the problem boys!! i swapped over the 13cm steel pipe i had in my intake pipe, with a 10cm one, and it sat perfectly, though slightly smaller than standard. so after eliminating the bend i had with the 13cm pipe, my car is boosting way better. im hitting 1.5bar(22psi) which is then backing off to 1.2bar(17.64psi). seems like its spiking... it'll be goin on the dyno hopefully on the weekend. will keep you posted... zero traction in 1st and 2nd nice....
-
Well guys, i tried that intake pipe mod, but as i was connecting the airfilter+afm back, i realised it was bending abit much so im sure the airflow is restricting. im gonna get back into it, and cut off abit more of the steel pipe i put between the intake pipe, hopefully sometime during this week, or the weekend. there was still some boost drop (reading off the boost gauge). my mate decided that we'd replace the blitz bov while we were still in the engine bay, so we put in the stockie, and piped it back plumback style, and for the first time it seems, boost is holding at about 1.1 bar or just over 16psi! This is my mate observing the boost gauge.. So first ill fix up the intake pipe, and then ill throw it on the dyno, and see if were progressing or not. Ill keep you guys posted.
-
the exhaust heat is too hot... can you imagine the heat generated in the engine bay? lol plus, i dont think any workshops will let me. (ive asked a few) btw, ive got a split dump pipe running 3 inches throught the front, cat, catback... and yes, got a Trust FMIC happening...

i recently got my turbo hiflowed by gcg, did the whole shebang, injectors, fuel pump, pfc etc.. took it for a tune at Unique, and it turns out that i cant hold boost. they swapped over a r33 gtst actuator and added tension, and according to them, there was a slight improvement holding boost. they also patched in a profec b ebc, and upped the gain to max, and it held boost much better. from the graph, you can see: on high boost, 18psi drops to ~13.2psi on low boost, 13psi drops to 10 psi the guys at unique cant figure it out (im sure they would eventually, but i cant afford to keep dishing out money ) so im looking for some insight/experiences someone might be able to share. atm, im looking to upgrade the actuator to a hks adjustable, and also looking into putting in a avcr boost controller.(currently have a dual stage turbo xs boost cont.) but if i can get some advice before doing that, i can spare myself some cash!! what do you reckon??

Turnin The Clock Back
bikey replied to MRDeanos.'s topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
buy an imported car from japan, and you can be sure the k's are bullshit. they play around with the k's in japan, before they pack them up in boxes and ship them out. assuming the car was driven on average 10,000 km's a year, multiply this by the years since the car was manufactured, and you get a rough figure as to how much km's the car might have done. forget about a lawsuit, aint gonna happen, because you cant prove crap suck it all up, and just enjoy the car, stop whining -
i can vouch that my r34 has a somewhat heavier steering, than the 33... strange..

my gt-t has a red foglight at the back end, and a white reverse light. however, when i reverse, both white and red lights come on. is there a way to have the red foglight wired so it only switches on, when i actually switch on the fog light switch? cheers

Can Someone Reccomend Me A Good Clutch?

gotta agree with spooks, the cushion button's are a very nice feel. not as bitchy as a twin plate, but definately better than just heavy duty.
