  1. i am in a similar situation with the zed. i started off with deca's then did a driver dynamics sandown track day and a winton fun day. also did a driver dynamics drift day just for the hell of it. i think my next event will be sandown sprints in June or winton in july with WRX club. car has had no major issues in 3 years, being a NA means you can drive it hard and you won't generate anywhere near as much heat as a turbo car + I can drive all the way to deca, do deca and drive back with and still have 1/3 tank of fuel left haha. it's ok on petrol for daily driving too. need to keep it well maintained though. regular oil changes and pull the wheels of or lift it up and get under it and give it a thorough checkover regularly to catch any potential issues early. I think i have probably spent a fair bit to make the car "trackworthy" and reliable enough that i can depend on it as a daily driver, but probably nowhere near the cost of having a second car + trailer. maybe when i get out of uni and get a proper job i will consider that option. i would recommend you keep a bit of money in an account that is your emergency repair fund incase something does break. i have been doing that since i got the car back in 06, haven't needed to use it yet but good to have it just incase so you can get any issues fixed ASAP. chuck it in a high interest internet banking account and then if you end up not using the money then at least you can use it on your next car or house deposit etc.
  2. oh no i am so scared although the next DECA will be during uni exams so will have to be August DECA or NDSOC/FPV deca... oh, well in that case he is disqualified from NA class... how about the 180b datsun? is that NA or is it running a CA/SR turbo? If we make a FWD class then I think there should be a class for NA RWD cars over 1500kg too...
  3. go Russman! and also well done to the Clive in the Lancer for taking out the highly contested "NA challenge".. some of my times were slower in my second run compared to my first run... usually it's the other way round for me, something to improve on for next time I guess. p.s. for Pat: Z32>R32, 3.0L>2.0L and NA is best
  4. thanks to all the organisers/volunteers and sponsors for running another great DECA event. had a great time, looking forward to the next one.

    Who Got Hailed?

my zed got a few dents on the bonnet while i was at work. group buy on dent removal?
  11. I (and alot of other zed guys) have used Knox Driveshaft services with no issues to date. 73 Bursaria Avenue Ferntree Gully, 9758 4015. His name is Jeff, give him a call and he'll help you out. You might have to drop by his workshop to show him what you want done. His prices are good and I can't fault his workmanship.
  12. damn, work is not giving me the day off, used up my annual leave for DECA
  13. i would be interested, but that time of the year is pretty close to exams so it really depends more on my uni timetable. if it does go ahead then i will try to get some guys from aus300zx to come too.
  14. i am just trying to organise getting the day off work, but most probably will be getting my entry in for driver training this week. you should enter driver training too, then we can get our team wang racing stickers!!!1
  15. didn't this car get shown last year on another channel 7 show? I thought it had something to do with parking fines?
  16. Can you adjust the swaybar to make it softer on the rear? and as Al said, just take it easy if you are not comfortable pushing it on the backtrack. Just make sure you are there for the 3.0L NA battle in the afternoon
  17. I can be a helper between my runs if that helps.
  18. was good fun, I think I could have got down to a 68 or a high 67 yesterday if I had done my last 3 runs. Gives me something to aim for next time though, I still don't know the track well enough so probably can get my time down by a fair bit with more practice. Thanks for the pics John and Martin, see you guys at DECA and maybe Calder too.
  19. thanks. so the entry is on coach road? my car's not a fuel drinker but just want to make sure i don't have to leave the track in the afternoon to grab fuel. should be fine if i top up at the BP.
  20. can anyone send me a link to google maps with the haunted hills co-ordinate on it? never been before so not sure exactly where it is. also is there petrol close by incase i need to top up?
  21. AWD is for cheaters
  22. emailed and paid
  23. thanks. yeah will fill it out and then scan it and email.
  24. Hey Martin, is there someone I can scan and email the entry forms to? I don't have a fax. Also just to confirm, if a few of my mates want to enter with current AASA licences, do they need CAMS club membership too?
  25. rematch?
