  1. Thought it would be better if we started another thread to organise the Saturday morning cruise to DECA so that we don't spam up the event thread. Was thinking that for SE suburbs, we could meet at: SHELL Servo, corner of Warrigal road and Princes hwy in Chadstone, meet at 4.45am for 5.00am departure. Then for the other guys, as suggested in the main thread, BP servo at Heathcote Junction (roughly 15-20km north of donnybrook shell). Not sure on timing though, maybe 6:15 for 6:30 departure? Only 130km to DECA from there so it's not too far. Should have enough time to have breakfast at shepparton maccas. Any thoughts, suggested meet points/times etc?

    Hey Guys.

hey Jin, have i seen you at autobarn in chaddy?
  5. emailed and paid today. any chance i can be in a group with pat and jake?
  6. yeah definately gotta get a run in against you again. are you organising the SE suburbs cruise again?
  7. okay i'm in for this one. i'll fill out my entry form on the weekend and send it through with payment. is it alright if i post up a link to this on aus300zx to see if anyone is interested from over there, or are SAU members still getting preference? being an official is a pretty sweet deal. Last time I got a front row seat on the skidpan, free water, cool fluoro vest and a stop watch and i got to watch everyone run. oh and free food too. and i don't get sunburnt so it wasn't bad at all if you can't enter the event, it's still a good way to learn because you get to watch everyone and see what works.
  8. Hey pat, send a pm to Athid (the guard roller from melb). He is a Motul rep, last time I spoke to him he said 10,000 would be fine ( I think they did a 25,000km test in his company car on 300V and the oil was still fine and they had it tested for metal content etc) but it depends on your car and how you drive. I usually change it at least every 6 months regardless of km's, but if you're doing heaps of track days or the oil starts getting abit dark then change it earlier.
  9. no worries, i'll just be there to watch then. i think a friend from work will be coming to join up.
  10. depends what type of coilover you have, eg. tein flex are illegal because they have the extra adjustment at the bottom on the shock body, but tein super streets are fine because they don't have this adjustment.
  11. not sure if car will be running on the dyno, but can I pay my cams licence renewal on the day?
  12. great pics as usual Jarrod
  13. yeah i can chuck it all on a cd and bring it to SAU meeting if you want. but there's not footage of your car on my phone. no problem, shoot us all a pm with the details
  14. great day, learnt heaps. big thanks to driver dynamics and all the instructors and marshalls for running the day. i have some pics and vids which I am still editin, i will post them up soon. nice to meet some of the SAU members, see you all at SAU Deca.
  15. it could be the seal that's around the fuel filler neck. when your car is complianced they remove the filler neck insert and replace it one that accomdates Australian sized fuel nozzle's... usually this seal isn't very good and will leak when you make hard turns. try pulling out the filler neck insert and reseal it with selley's "knead it".
  16. try Jeff Lagerway Tailshafts in Knox. 97584015. I had a one-piece tailshaft made up for around $250 from him.
  17. pretty sure that the ecu just looks at the resistance in each circuit, and if anything seems out of spec, throws the error code. I know that's what it does with the detonation sensor circuit on my car.
  18. here's my pics: http://s128.photobucket.com/albums/p161/sa...ow%20n%20shine/ some nice cars on display today. the silver 33 gtr and 34 NUR would be my fav's, both were super clean with nice mods. i want a gtr now.
  19. Purchased these about 2 years ago. Done 15,000km on them and they came off the car today. Maxxis MAV1- 235/45/17 : 50-60% tread left with minor camber wear on inside edge. Still roadworthy, probably 1year left on them. Nankang NS2- 255/40/17: 40% tread left with camber wear on inside edge. Still roadworthy but inside edge will be unroadworthy after about 6months of driving I'd guess. $100 for all 4, pickup from south east suburbs melbourne. please pm me if interested, I don't check the forums that often. Thanks
  20. Nick you can try selley's "knead it", can get it from bunnings. i tried using sikaflex and loctite sealant on mine but since they are soft setting, the seal would break eventually. Then used the hard setting selley's knead it and haven't had any leaks since.
  21. get a hydrocarbon test done at a radiator place too see if you have a head gasket leak, also when you are changing the oil check the oil for any coolant mixture. also would be doing a compression and leakdown test just to see if your motor is still healthy.
  22. There's a few other clubs running deca days, I did one with FPV/XR owners club and NDSOC in August which was pretty good. We had a whole group from aus300zx that entered that event. But I like the SAU deca days because they are run so well and there are some really good cars and drivers out there. Only bad thing is whenever I go to a SAU event I end up wanting to buy a GTR to park next to the zed.
  23. try Neway wheels in Heidelberg.
  24. I was regretting not entering this one when I arrived but it was good watching all of you on the skidpan, makes me want to come back and compete again next year and I learnt abit from watching the different driving styles and comparing times. saw some really nice runs, the grey and silver evo's were super quick and i think snowman's run in scotsman's car on motorkhana 2 would have been fastest by 1-2 seconds easy if he had made it into the last gate, that was a great run. Good consistently fast times by Chris in the purple 33 also, i think my money would be on him to take out the win. Thanks to the organisers for running the event, will see you all next time
