also remember that i got given a "written formal warning" and i am just reading on the rta site that i only have to go to get a blue slip and yer. what do i do with the blue defect slip? it says on the site i dont have to return it to the rta??? what does that mean cos it says i have 21 days to clear the defects etc... so confused by all this bullshit, cops should go and catch real criminals liek ice addicts and not waste time on hard working guys like myself... i am determined to beat this shit as i love my car, i went through so much shit to get it and im not about to give in on this shit!!! yer but i find it hard to believe ppl dont know whats legal and whats not especially on SAU. like eseriously im getting different views ive heard some ppl getting engineeredmicrotechs etc and front mounts pods etc etc etc. i know the height is 100mm under the car is it not? i checked today my car IS unfortunaley lower than that at the exhaust its about 60-80mm so im gonna have to get the coilovers adjusted up, thats fine, ill get my pod boxed in, but i need to know about boost controllers ie i have an AVC-R and Wolf 3d ECU and also whats the deal with front bar reos? i know theres someone out there who knws, please show yourslf! lol

ok but what about the last listed fault the cops wrote? "4. engineers certificate required" does this mean i have to get one or is it just a suggestion? or what? does the reo on a front bar have to be in tact? ive been told minehas little left and will fail... the pod is easy and exhaust isnt too loud just maybe emissions test might fail. anyone else please if you know what i should do? as it has to go to get a blue slip basically. hey guys, i own a 95 R33 in Newcastle NSW. i got a formal warning defect on sunday for "1. intercooler fitted in cold air intake check ADR complience 2. lowered vehicle check height 3. 3 " exhaust check noise/emissions 4. enjineers certificate required" that is how the cop wrote it out under faults found - can i get away with it on spelling mistake of engineer? lol Just went today and saw my mate who owns an import parts yard and he said that i need to box in the pod and that will pass, the front bar though has some of the rheo cut to fit my front mount... will i need a new front bar? are front mounts legal as long as they dont damage the front bar rheo? my mate says it will not pass ?? the height is ok as i have coilovers and if not its an adjustment job which i knew anyways , umm the exhaust isnt too loud but im doubtful of an emmisions test as a lot of carbon deposits on my rear as it is running rich... will i need to go to sydney to get this done as i have been told? also lastly the cop listed on the faults 4. engineers cert required.... does this mean its enforcable? like do i have to get it engineered? as it was listed as a fault...? my mods are as follows: i so should have got a RWC b4 i bought the car as i didnt do the mods and sorta thought the mods were relatively ok -Highflowed standard r33 turbo -3"dump pipe into high flow cat, 3 1/2" cat back HKS exhaust into X-Force Cannon w/ 5" tip -Apexi electronic boost controller -Hybrid front mount intercooler kit w/ 600mm/300mm/76mm intercooler core -Wolf 3d fully tuneable aftermarket ECU with hand controller -Splitfire Coilpacks - 6 months old -Simota airpod filter Body: Modified front bar with centre section cut out to fit intercooler -Legal Tinted Windows Brakes/Suspension/wheels: -HSD fully adjustable coilovers with height/dampner/camber control -18" 5 star RJR 18 x 8 Wheels with Maxis Tyres (6 months old) Interior: -autometer boost guage a pillar but not higher than steering wheel -Apexi AVC-r controller dash mounted, can give guage readouts for speed, boost, revs, duty cycle etc -Wolf 3d hand controller (Readouts for engine temp, revs, Turbo Air Temp etc etc) -Dash repainted in white same colour as the car -all seats and trim standard r33 gear -genuine momo alloy gear knob Can anyone tell me if i have to get it engineered? or does it just have to be blue slipped? as it has to be cleared by a "part inspection at an authorised unregistered inspection station" if so who is the best and cheapest one to go to? i just want to do the minimum to pass as i have litle money as i have rego in 2 months , also i have been given 21 days to fix the defects... bump, anyone else wanna comment on this unproffesional? Dept Fair trading think i have a case for this to be investigated so anyone else? BTW i have been truthful and honest in my tellings. I am an honest person and expect honest upfront Expertise when i take my car to a mechanic, especially this one as i have seen heaps of import cars there. Unfortuanlely i had to go back to him to get my timing belt done cheap and then he broke my radiator when this coudl have been prevented by giving me the option of replacing my timing belt at time of conversion back in Feb this year. I will get my money for that radiator if its the last thing i do!! Catch yas later

I use anything that is 98 that has a 4c voucher lol mostly caltex, then coles, if i have no voucher or if i need fuel asap i just get whatever is not heaps crowded (i wont hang out a driveway blocking traffic just to get 2c saving) or is closer. i dont think that having any of these fuels is better or worse, i think having a different/old oil/filter or dirty air filter etc would be more detremental or beneficial than fuels. i haven't tried the V Power Racing though, havent seen it in Newcastle before, only the other one at Shell. yer i def am gonna not go to him in the future hey like its just him and a 3rd year apprentice. i only went back there cos he said he would do the timing belt for $100 as he stuffed up and didnt tell me about replacing it to get the warranty etc at time of engine replacement Turbo technics are definately getting my money from now on even thought hey r a bit more expensive they are more pro and no apprentices work there. i think i am gonna only get the $150 i paid for the top radiator tank. anyon else think that? someone else must know more....

fair enought thanks for that dude, but we agreed on 6 months warranty. does this have to be in writing? also he said to me to get the warranty of the engine the radiator had to be flushed and coolant replaced so why didnt he tell me about the other vital important thing to get the warranty? or does this have to be in writing?

Hi , can anyone put their opinions here, I had a 2nd hand engine put in about 12th feb 2007 it came from SA from a front cut and had 42000kms on it. I paid about $2800 all up for it including a stock new clutch plate. and engine installed Basically when i got the car back i got in the car with my mechaninc and went for a drive to make sure it didnt break down, and guess what it broke down! My mechanic said it was a fuel pump. then eventually he bypassed the relay of the pump with my amp cable to get the car back to his shop. He didnt charge me for his time for this but i was charged $50 for his auto elec to fix the relay problem...??? i was furious! Then about 2-3 weeks after i got my car back the timing belt was making a rubbing sound at low revs, My mechanic said it was about to break anytime i was like oh so you'll pay for that? hes like oh yer i forgot to tell you about that , i was trying to save you on costs and didnt ask you whether you wanted to replace the belt to get a 6 month warranty or just leave it. i was lfurious again! he goes sorry how about i do the belt replacement now for $100 and the cost of the part... i was like ok... and was furious cos i had little money. waited till May 30th, yesterday and the belt still hadtn snapped and i took it in to get the belt done. then mechanic rings me up and says he has broken the top tank of my radiator as he was trying to get at the belt etc. I was like ok... you will pay for all of that will you mate? he says no ill do it for the cost of the top tank, i was like ok.... I then got advise from 3 sources including fair trading NSW and 2 mechanics Then today i asked my mechaninc "would you had to f touched my radiator at all if you had done the timing belt replacement at the time of the engine being put it?" (out of the car) he couldnt answer my question and kept rambling on about how brittle the top tank was and it would have snapped anyway in time. im like thats fair enough mate but it would have been on my head then not yours. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT ANYONE HAS TO SAY ABOUT THIS I WANT THE $50 FROM THE BREAKDOWN BACK from auto elec I WANT THE COST OF THE TOP TANK REPLACED aswell DOES ANYONE THINK THIS IS UNREASONABLE

mate, im 23 nearly got my r33 in december last year, i know where your coming from hey. these ppl are idiots you are one of the people who got their red ps after the rule came in that states: You cant drive V8s, Turbos, or high performance cars etc etc. If you want a skyline i advise you get a non turbo i.e R33 gts not gts-t or an R34 like you said GT not GTT. If people on this site ccould read then they would be more understanding of you. I understand what its like to passionately want a skyline! have done since i was 17 but i am one of the lucky ones who got their license b4 the high performance restrictions came in. So you only live once mate, go and get the car of your dreams, i am very happy with my skyline but BE PREPARED TO SPEND LOTS OF MONEY ON IT KEEPING IT ON THE ROAD. Also Just Cars might not be the only place insuring non turbo cars. If you dont want a non turbo then i advise you get a V6 or something. Good luck

I have a series 1.5 and it has all those things listed aswell Series 1.5 are 95's and maybe late 94's possibly and have S2 wing, S2 motor, also have different steering wheel to series 1 and 2 with only drivers airbag has everything elese series one ,lights, front bar, bonnet, etc Hope this helps guys Cheers
