Mine has Side impact bags.... I am starting to think either mine was some special edition thing or some dude in japan was only too happy to tick all the boxes under the options section.

Hi, Just a quick question, are "Side Impact Airbags" standard or optional on a R34 Skyline? Rgds Nav p.s Couldnt find any info thru forum searches

Back in the day a mate of mine did the exact same thing on his MR lancer when he turboed it (he just couldnt wait and was dying to hear the flutter sound). Anyway it worked...from memory it lasted about a hour or so before it melted. He was running about 10-12psi wwith his T3.

When I had my 180, I had to get it blue slipped but I was getting mixed information from everyone. So as a result I rang up the RTA and rang up my local cop shop. As per RTA: I can drive as long as it’s to the closest blue slip center. In other works, there is a blue slip workshop about 2km from you and another 5km. You know for a fact that the workshop which is 5km away will give you a blue slip without any problems. You can only go to the workshop which is 2km away…..makes sense? As per Local Cop Shop: I was basically told the same thing as RTA. The cop even joked about putting up TRAFFIC plates….which is a big no no. He said I did not need any sort of document stating I was going for a blue slip. Oh and as for the 180, ended up getting towed because I knew I couldnt get it blue slipped anywhere else expect for the place where I usually go

What model is the boost controller?

This happened a long time ago but back then I was driving my N15 SSS. Went for an Aust Day cruise with the pulsar.org.au club to Palm Beach. On my home I decided to take Epping Rd (In Syd) as a shortcut. This is a 4 lane rd which eventually merges into 3. I took the far right lane and eventually I could see the booze bus about 1- 1.5km away. As I got closer to the booze bus, this young cop stops the remaining 3 lanes, points at me and tells me to merge all way left and line up. I eventually parked my car in the line and out of the blue the same young cop jumps in front of the SSS and takes a photo with a digital camera. I just sat there for about 10secs thinking wtf just happened. (I had my headlight covers on, which I know was my fault...it was asking for it...pic attached). One of the older cops walks over to me with a breathalyzer did his thing and everything was good. As I was about to drive off the young cop goes to his senior, his got covers on, that’s illegal….the older cop acting a bit uneasy asked me if it comes on. Said to him sure does and quickly jumped out and took it off. Jumped back in my car and as I moved about a foot, I could hear the young cop say to his senior again “aren’t those rims too big”. I remember thinking to myself…you f****n c**t. Anyway…got stopped again and by this stage 5-6 more senior looking cops started walking towards my car. I was like “DAMNNN! I will get my ass done today”. To my surprise one of the cops goes to me “ Nice looking car, you can tell it gets maintained really well”….not knowing what to say all I said was “thanks officer, I try my best”. The young cop goes to me, where is the tire palm card...I said I wasn’t sure, I have never checked ( I honestly never did). My entire car was checked, from the boot to behind all the doors and kick panel and eventually they found it in the glove box. One of the seniors goes “oh its 15” standard, he has 17” now….2 inch over….its legal”. All this time another older cop was talking to me. He goes to me and I swear to you “Most people don’t know that putting bigger rims seriously affects the braking power…that is why we need to do these checks. If we pull someone over and they are nice and reasonable we usually let them off with a warning but if they are being smartass…WE F**KEM!!” My response…..I understand what you mean sir. After 25-30mins later….got told I could leave and have a safe trip home!! My 50 cents….

Thanks for the reply.... I tried playing with the setting this arvo......didnt have any luck. Did you adjust your one whist driving or was the car just parked and running?

Umm 2 days later 20s went on, now I am hunting around for a cooler and exhaust. Went and saw Adam today at JEM, his a mate's mate. He was saying that the dyno has been moved to around March 15?? Anyway....had my R34 dynoed just to check the fuel mixtures etc. Car is currently stock as a rock and managed to pull a healthy 150kw with 20s on. According to him my motor is apparently very healthy and can manage 200+ kw at the wheels with a nice cooler and exhaust and maybe a little bit of boost increase. Was very happy to hear that

At most road works sites in NSW there is this radar type thing which shows you your speed as you go past it. I was doing 40KM and the radar picked up something like 41-42 KM.

Thanks for the welcome - It actually looks like normal white driving lights. These ones are small oval type ones.... It might be better if I attach some pics tomorrow. Where are are the brand name (tag) located on your one? I had a quick look last night but couldnt find anything. From memory doesnt the temp guage start from 70 and go all the way up to 150? I have already put 20s on my car, I wasnt sure if it was going to suit it....initially I had it on my XR6. At the moment only at full lock there is a very slight touch....I think its touching the plastic covering underneath the wheel arch. I just want to lower it maybe around 30mm to get rid of some air above the tires.

Hi I already have 20s on the R34, just waiting to lower it...I know it will scrub but not sure to what extent. I love the look of the Lenso LDRs Deep Dish, considering the car will only get driven once a week max I guess a little bit of scrubbing wouldnt do any harm. At the moment with 20s on I find it real ez breaking traction till 3rd gear.

Hi Guys, Long time reader first time poster . I finally picked up my R34 GT-T last weekend. The car drives like a dream, to my surprise the car freaking hammers for a stocker compared to my 180 (srdet). I have had a few questions regarding the R34 : 1. The car comes with a Nismo Exhaust system, from inside the cabin you have the option of selecting either sports mode or silent mode. Does anyone have this in their R34? (The Control looks like factory). All the pipe work is wrapped in what looks like factory heat shield. 2. The 34 also comes with factory fog lights (has factory controls), verified that the mounting brackets are factory and not after market. I have never seen any R34 with factory fog lights. Does anyone have this on their R34? 3. The front suspension has what looks like either height or damper settings (I might be wrong), I haven’t checked the rears yet. Is this a standard item with the 34s? 4. The 34 also comes with an aftermarket HUD (DeFi brand), the head up display reads half the speed of what the vehicle is doing. Eg, if I am doing 80KM, the dash speedo shows 80 but the HUD shows 40km. Any idea what might be wrong? My understanding is that the HUD is hooked up to the ECU, if the connectors aren’t on correctly will it give me incorrect reading or no readings at all? 5. What should the normal oil temp reading on the factory gauge? (I’ve tried searching the forums but had no luck) 6. Does anyone on the forum have 20” rims on their 34? If yes then has anyone had any problems lowering it? I think this is all for the time being... Thanks in advance Nav
