  1. Dont' be so sure you'd want to go to the States after being in Japan..... I was in Okinawa for only a year and a half and went back to the States (home) and went through LAX...30 minutes off the plane I wanted to cancel my trip and go back to Okinawa!! Now it's been another year and a half, (three years total) and getting pressured into coming to the states for another visit....I really don't want to waste the money to go back. I'd much rather go see Australia again! or visit SE Asia..
  2. There's a lot more to eat than Goya and Pig's head. After trying goya a few times it kinda grows on you. Went to an Okinawa industrial fair and they've done just about all you can think of with goya. I settled on some beer nuts with a goya coating, but with enough beer, any thing tastes good, right? As for the pig's head, not enough beer here. Although I did get coaxed into trying the thinly sliced pig's ear, I managed a few slices, and she rewarded me more than amply later! Glad I tried it... Scuba diving year round, and I'm serious, any of you want to come down and go diving, I'll take you to some great spots. Just saw a spotted Ray with a 6foot (2m) wing span. The crazy thing was he was only 200 yards/m +/- from the front door of my building and we were less than 20ft deep. Very out of place for a ray that size. The diving keeps me motivated to get through another week of work.
  3. Blokes and Mates, I am not in Japan, but in Okinawa....yes part of Japan, the best part! Have a 97StageaRS turbo AWD, my first "skyline" and am loving life. Been here three years. I'm soaking up that American/Military connection. I'm a civilian working for the military. I can throw a Guinness ball into the East China Sea from my 4bed 2bath apt balcony, courtesy of the US/Japan alliance. I just got home from taking my 21 year-old girlfriend out. We've been seeing each other for 2.5 years....yeah do the math. What a sweet sweet girl. Don't know why she's with this old guy, but not going to give her a reason not to be. The night before her and her mum came by and mum fell asleep on my couch. She knows I will take good care of her daughter. Fresh Sushi when ever I want, soba noodles around the corner, several bars I can walk to. Every month I'm here, I miss the States less. Now the drivers here are going to give me a stroke. They all SUCK, but when I get some open road in front of me I floor the Stagea and shift it through the gears with over drive off and my stress leaves. This doesn't happen a lot cause like I said, the drivers SUCK and some asshole is going to pull in front of me and ruin my run, but it's good while it lasts. I love Okinawa, and I love my Stagea. It's more fun than my previous 944 or 911.....well maybe not my 911 that is still my favorite vehicle I've owned, but I can pack in 8 SCUBA Tanks and all my gear and take two people with me. Not possible with the 911. What keeps me motivated to stay in Japan?(Okinawa) I can leave the windows down, the keys in the ignition and a 5,000 yen note on the dashboard and come back and it's still there. I can have a 21 year old girl friend who appreciates me and be seen in public without anyone saying "pervert". I don't get paid a lot, but have lots of benefits...ie the apt..did I say it was new when I moved in 3yrs ago? Most everyone wants to speak English. SCUBA, Surf, SCUBA, Surf, SCUBA, Surf! I like the food. Come see me, I'll take you diving!
  4. Hey Guys, I'm an American living on Okinawa. Three years ago I had one of three Stags on the entire island. In the last six to nine months we have had Stags multiplying from the mainland like Roos in your out back. I no longer stand out or get asked about my 97RSTurbo as it's just one of many now. There are at least 6 pre 2000 for sale here between 2000 and 6000 American Dollars. Let me know if you want to start importing them to your berg! I'm looking to upgrade to a 2002 RS Turbo. What's your opinion of the newer style?

  6. I live in Okinawa and still have to order parts from mainland Japan. What I wanted was help with knowing what I need. You guys know your Stagea's and I'm just new to the car. Not sure if air box or air flow meter is the name of what I need. I don't speak or read Japanese, so there is another barrier being in Japan...
  7. American in Okinawa. Previous 70s muscle car owner/driver, SCCA Porsche 911 AutoXer, now Stagea owner. Love the car. 97 RsFour. Right now the turbo isn't kicking in. Did a tune up and they told me the airbox(?) needs replaced...or the computer. Looking for a used R-33 Koki 95 up. Air box or Air flow meter. Anyone help me with what I need or a good used one? Thanks Mick
