  1. It is still a 26,The head has had some love. ported and a full jun kit with relatively small cams. Its a nice combo. my 30 bottom end in the other car with the bigger turb spools slightly quicker. shows the value of cubes in relation to response.
  2. If he is running a true split pulse setup then it will spool a lot harder Andy. a .82 will not strangle response, Only top end. If anything it will improve response. Bear in mind the cams are still set at zero, I believe we could improve response another 3/500 rpm with some dicking around. Not that fussed atm though. Its quite economical driving around off boost and still plenty of fun when the hammer hits.
  3. The 35R is a T3 housing andy, I am using a .82 rear. Not quite as responsive as I thought it may be but still good enough. I see full boost around 4300 rpm.
  4. I'm running a 35R Andy. clearance is about 20/25 mil to the rocker cover. You are near enough to spot on with the boost pressure, about 1.8 bar. I am using a 38 mil gate but wether Sean trimmed the boost or not I dont know, the boost line on the dyno is pretty flat.
  5. I'm sure there are better out there Dale but for the power level I was after and the price this item simply works.
  6. Hey guys, thanks for coming down to the khana. was great to see you there. How would you feel about a cruise to the bunyas one weekend. I'm sure I could put a crew together and we could head up the hill to hook up with the gang and go do lunch on the mountain. Thoughts?
  7. I'm using one of these manifolds on the gtr. It came in a package deal from an expatriot kiwi with a new turbo. My first thoughts were the same as yours, doubt as to the quality, I showed it to a couple of mates in the welding and fab game and they gave it the thumbs up so we went ahead and bolted it on. Its done a few k now and is about the best bang for buck mod out there. zero problems, perfect fit, no restrictions when we tuned it. We took the tune out to 500 whp before turning it back to a safe 450 whp for safety (stock bottom end) I wouldnt hesitate to buy another if I needed it based solely on my experience with the current one.
  8. The bushing in general seems to be in good shape. I am a bit suss of the wheel alignment so I'll start there. Even thought its tracking true on a flat road there may well be toe settings that need attention. Thanks for your input blokes.
  9. Super taxi's are super shit. Put whatever badge you like on it underneath its still the same damn car. Close racing my arse, close procession of ugly looking 4 door hacks is more like it. I've seen more overtaking in wheelchairs down the hall at donerootin nursing home. Whoever decided that an uglyarse 4 door family stomper would make a good looking race car should put the crack pipe down. In comparison GT1 cars look freakin porn. Cochrane and his puppet show can suck my large male chicken.
  10. The 33 gtr is now rego'd and driving. Its a sweet ride but the tram tracking is very annoying. I had the 285x30 18's on the gtst and the tracking was noticeable but not annoyingly so. I fitted these same wheeels/tyres to the gtr and the tram tracking is bloody horrible. It will climb up and follow any small deviation in the road surface. I physically have to fight to keep it in a straight line. On a smooth ride its perfectly fine, I can let the wheel go and the car tracks true. Is this inherent in the awd with fat tyres or is it possible my wheel alignment needs attention? Any help appreciated.
  11. TE37's are a great track rim with big brake clearance and lightweight. They fail miserably in the looks department with few exceptions (some 34 gtr's carry them well) A 5 bolt hub needs a 5 spoke wheel for symetry, GTC's on 33 and 34 look wicked and meisters on 32, 33, and 34 look pron.
  12. Are you drunk, A supra looks like a car designed by veilside.
  13. Not monsters Paul, about the same as tomei type B.
  14. The gtr came off the dyno at efi today. very happy with the results. stock bottom end Ported head with jun cams, springs etc. gcg 35r on custom steampipe highrise with external gate. 750 cc jectas Motec M8 puda front mount etc. made a stout 330 rwkw at 25 lb Very smooth to drive and very happy with it. Interesting to note that this setup is a couple hundred rpm laggier than the 37/88 on the 3 litre engine in the wheelchair. ERD Dan is finishing off the catch can setup and then its rego time. Will be noice to have as a regular driver to take some k's off the other car.
  15. Or go blind faster.
  16. spose you 2 turbo types have 2 dicks too huh.
  17. I dont Joe. Might be able to organise it next time I am down at the workshop.
  18. sea hunts.
  19. nothing outrageous Steve, It has the hardware to do it but one horse is enough. around 400 awhp and a nice driver is the plan.
  20. No that went on the 33 gtr. It will be rego'd and driving in another week or so.
  21. Its a full house 25/30 being fed by a garrett 37/88 Pull. pretty much all the hardware like fuel setup, solid lifter conversion, cams etc. It keeps a smile on old mans dial.
  22. QR more than any other track around here is suitable for big hp cars Ben, Lots of straights and few corners make it ideal for horsepower. My advice for what its worth would be to turn the power down and hold off on the aero till you sort out the mechanical grip. Aero cover up setup issues that you will find difficult to detect once you add a heap of down force. Dont try and set lap records on your first outing. Feel your way in to it and keep making changes untill you feel the car has reached its (and your) potential with that setup then start adding aero and or turning up the wick pregressively. Look forward to seeing you and that animal of a car down here. be sure to let us know when it happens.
  23. Not much less but the power was getting worse as time went by. Massive pressure drop across the cooler jst kept getting worse so we ditched it. Last time we measured it it was losing about 6lb from turbo side to tb side.
