Finally swapped out the chinee cooler for a trust item and went back on the dyno. Boost is way more stable power is up slightly to around 430 rwkw's and the power curve is all sorts of awesome. Will throw a pic of the graph up when someone around here does it for me.

driving to toowoomba every night at midnight in this shit then back home around 7/8 am. Not cool. We have emptied over 230 mil from our guage in the last 3 days.
-
LOL, No Paulie but my 3 litre is going back on the dyno with an intercooler upgrade tomorrow. Looking forward to that. I've been dreaming about that 3.3 litre for so0me time now. If I know me its bound to happen sooner rather than later.
-
How about a 3.3 litre +VCT + 42r + quickspool valve + 10:1 comp + e85. I am gonna build that sucker one day.

Given that the end tanks have to be welded to the core, the inlet outlet hoses have to be welded in I couldnt see the extra bit of welding on the end folds making any difference to the the integrity of the unit. I've yet to see a quality radiator split on a fold or anywhere else for that matter but if these guys want to show their mad skills by carving up a billet block then good for them.

Pics of soccer mums Fatz.

Surey even you must realise by now the N1 pump is a hit and miss affair Ash. sure there may be dozens of them going around ok but....and you know the but. Just one look at n1 pump gears alongside the likes of Jun, Tomei, Nismo and others is enough to tell you it isnt in the same league as those mentioned. After seeinng first hand results of n1 failures there is no way I would trust my engine to one.

This man speaketh the truth. The stock fan will blow a veritable hurricane through your engine bay compared to thermos. Been there done that.

let us know when you're firm on dates and we might try and organise something within the club mate.

f**k fuel eonomy, Give me grunt. The 4.8 patty has 330 kay on the clock now and can still tow a heavy arse hire trailer with the whale on board at any speed you car to mention this side of 170 kph. (private road of course) A set of headers and a decent zorst system plus an ecu and tune did wonders for the economy and added another 30/40 killawasps of grunt to the mix. Keep buying shit box monocoques to do a mans job and you're just throwing money away in the long term. Of the 6 pattys I have owned in the last 25 years the lowest kays I have on any of them before I sold it was 440 thou. The most was 730 thou. That vehicle was purchased by a family of large coconuts and I still saw it cruising around town for some years after. In all those years and kays apart from regular servicing I have replace 1 radiator, 1 starter motor and one set of shocks. As for comforts I am surrounded by leather, wood grain, bose steroe system, tiptronic, electric everything, more airbags than ballons at a kids party, Sunroofs, front and rear climate control, 7 seats, armrests, cupholders everwhere and so much more. My miniscule mrs has no qualms about jumping in it and pissing off interstate whenever it suits her or just using it as a shopping hack. If theres a better bang for buck vehicle out there I havnt seen it.

I dont know where you're comin from with this. I've used a patrol as a daily for the last 27 years and they are fine. I would rate them over a falcadore any day of the week. Far safer, far better visibility and you hardly even feel smart cars when you run over them. If soccer mums like Fatz can drive around in a 4b surely you can.

Bright Yellow R33 Gtr On Gold Coast
FineLine replied to MYP16's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Dont know the owner but he makes an appearance at random jdm meets. There's a good chance he will be at power play in february but if I see him in the meantime I'll ask him for you. I do believe the car has been resprayed though. -
finished the year strong. The chair has never run better. Just today fitted a 100 mil trust intercooler to fix a restriction caused by the china jobby. Dyno again soon. Very confident of over 600 rwhp this time round. Had a wonderful year with a mint 40th anniversary bone stock 33 gtst. (since sold) The 33 gtr is in as we speak getting the dump and cooler piping done, Just a tune and a roady then and its up and running. The 4.8 litre patrol just keeps moving mountains, embarrassing f350 owners at the lights and working its arse off. All up I did my usual 150 thou kay in various cars and loved every minute of it.

If you didnt want your car to look like a skyline why the f**k did you buy one in the first place. -
You have a pm Joe.
-
Thats a pity Joe, we have an event on sunday 15th january that involves cruising eating and a racetrack. Maybe next time mate.

Those who drive around in discarded fridge box's should not pass comment.

I'm using the 25 head with a supertech solid lifter conversion simply because I already had the complete hot and cold side ready to bolt on. If I were starting from scratch I would probably use a 26 head Just to save on the cost of the conversion but given the hassle of getting rid of all the existing hot and cold side bolt ons and sourcing 26 stuff I found this the easiest way. In saying that I am more than happy with the current setup, Once the conversion is done you have for all intents and purposes a 26 head which opens up a whole new world of cam shaft options etc. I am currently running tomei 10.25 lift with staggerred duration inlet and exhaust cams. Dan of ERD fame has now developed a vct setup for the 26 head and even better he can apply this to my converted 25 head because most of the gear is already there. We will be pursuing this setup early in the new year. There's my experience on the subject. Good luck with which ever way you go.

how long are you up here for?

Your motul rep and mine sing a different tune Hamish. My rep actually warned me off using any of their product with ethanol. From my limited experience I think any of them will be ok providing you use the right grade.

When I first ran e85 I stayed on 10/40 weight oil. I found it broke down very quickly as opposed to when I was running 98 octane leaded fuel neccesitating an oil change every 1000 to 1500 kays. I changed to 20/50 weight and got a major imporvement, Oil pressure remained more stable for a longer period of time...win! Royal purple has been my oil of choice considering they are one of the few that claim their product is compatible with the alcohol base fuels. However after doing some more research I spoke to The tech advisor of Penrite oil. A local company making product that on paper is at least the equal of anything from anywhere else. The oil he reccomended for my application was Syn 20, a 20/60 weight oil. His reason was simple, these fuels are brutal on oil and dilution is a major problem, hence the reccomendation for a thicker heavier oil to better deal with the issue. My experience with the 2 different grades of royal purple have me believe he is correct. I am due an oil change shortly and will be giving the syn 20 a try. p.s. I was a motul user until I switched to e85. The motul distributor advised firmly against using their product as it is not compatible. p.p.s. the Penrite product is considerably cheaper than the imported oils so I am hoping it works from that regard as well.

I almost agree with you but.....Whilst I do all my oil changes and minor service work, at least once a year Dan gets all of my family cars for a good going over. You cant beat experience and while he is servicing the car he is also inspecting it from a maintainence/safety aspect. Peace of mind is what its all about.
