Generally speaking these Hoons (sic) are harmless. They weave and dodge and chirp the tyres at the lights and make the boring people shake their heads. But, theres a difference between hooning and downright dangerous. The tragic death referred to in another thread on here is the result of going beyond hoon to insanity. Who here hasnt given it a boot away from the lights occasionally or neck and necked with one of your skyline buds on the freeway somewhere, To others that is just downright hooning, To us its harmless fun, and thats all it really is. From the little I have seen of the skyline community they arent a dangerous breed of peeps. They enjoy their cars and do play a little but i have yet to see anybody step over the line. And one thing you must always remember......Theres no hoon like an old hoon.

Orright WTF am I missin here. Piscofreakin WHAT! is this some kinda secret skyline handshake deal or somethin. Interesting day. Took the sons for a blast, then their mates, then their mates mothers and fathers. I think I shoulda got a 4 door. Then proceeded out to qld raceway for the sprint day. Caught up with Zenon and watched him run some really smooth laps. Very impressive zenon. Next stop was willowbank strip for the evening test and tune session, (spectating only) Watched a fearsome sub 9 second line. Man that thing just rox. I grew up on the sound of hot v8s and they are impressive but nothing can prepare you for the sound of a line at these specs. Its just audio armageddon. Would give my left one to see that other one that ran the 7.6 second pass recently. All in all a great first day in the fine line. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Well today I take the first step on my road to skyline performance. In about 30 mins I will be sitting on a train for about 2 hours on my way to collect the divine fine line. Am I keen, bet your sweet arse I am. over 20 years I have waited for this. I will see some of you on the spit cruise tomorrow. WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO

I have just gone through the same excercise and boy, are there some traps out there. My experiences were as followers, Dealers arent worth the time. Their cars are generally priced considerably higher than private sale cars and are in nowhere near the condition for the money. There may be dealers around who dont fit this description but i didnt find any. SEcond worst on the list were so called student cars. cant afford to fix this or that, need money for school books etc. Generally these cars just werent maintained. Third worst were the young revheads (no inference to our admin guy of that name) 6 gazillion horsepower at the rear wheels of an absolute pos. Every buck they had went in to go fast and damn the rest of the car. I eventually found what I was looking for in the classifieds of this forum. People on here are genuine enthusiasts with a love of the marque and enough self respect to maintain what they own in the very best of condition according to their curcumstances. If you are patient and diligent you will find what you are looking for sooner or later. Good luck with your search.
