  10. Sicem bud. I put up with this crap all my young life over my rides. Blood sweat and toil got me my wheels and i was darn proud of them as you obviously are. I know now that if performance is in your blood it never leaves and you are abviously a slave to it now and forever as many others on here (including me) obviously are. My advice to the young tigers who are prepared to put in yards is to simply go for it. Too often we hear :get a boring car first: Well stuff that. If you want to learn to drive a fast car you wont do it in a boring car and something you had to sweat your arse off to buy is going to be treasured for sure. You cant put an old head on young shoulders so dont try. The only advice I offer is to think before you bury the right foot. Where am I, What are the consequences if something does go wrong, Who else is at risk. Remember these things, I did and I had a tunnafun with my rides when I was younger. Gonna do it all over again now I am older too.
  11. The old days have truly gone. Where is the talk about double pumpers, Mallory twin point dizzys, double hump fuellys, Roller rockers etc etc. The conversations on the weekend went along the lines of. Yeah its fully sic with an A4RT1 hooked up to an RG437T overriding a series 2 phase inhibited L61J With twin over head shaved XV67s mounted to a straight through maxed out B42 pushin XR53s @ 12000rpm on 57lb boost. Its just riciulous when the OLS kicks in at half boost and then pulls strong right through to max where the 451GRX! limits the blowback through the cardio mac 2 gizmo. WTF Listening to a high performance conversation these days is like eating alphabet soup. How bout a thesaurus for old farts. Post up the letters safc11 for eg and tell us what it stands for.
  12. I will be there. Could someone else attending do me a small favor and print a copy of the club membership form and bring it to the dinner. My printer has crapped itself.
  13. Well the liners survived my first outing today. The more things change the more they stay the same. Cruisin hasnt changed much in 25 years. Meet, Hang, ride, Hang, ride, Hang. go home. Gotta love it. Met some damn fine liners and saw some first class cars. Thanx for a great day guys and gals. Will definitely do it again.
  14. Thanx bloke. Already got it taken care of. Mark at Tony Motsons is my man. Very experienced line tuner and loves a fast car to boot. We have already mapped a programme to put me where i want to be horsepower and suspension wise. However, I will not be proceeding with the extra mods until I have seen and spoken to a few more line owners with similar setups, Hence my eagerness to get to know yall and your cars.
  15. I'll be there in my line crusher. run or get flat.
  16. oops. wrong thread.....senior moment.
  17. Dont tell me bout drugs. I know drugs. I take metemucil and mogadon every day. Keep this up and i will poke out your eye with my walkin frame.
  18. So whats the deal. Is this cruise still on and am I welcome to come have a look see.
  19. Now listen here you young vagabonds. Iffin yall gonna keep correctin me like this I might just have to show you the back of my hand. Well I knew what I meant even if you didnt. so just for you GTST. Happy now.?
  20. Thanx for the welcome all. Looks like I am gonna be the proud owner of this black beauty. vewry clean straight car with some of the mods i already wanted. couple of minor marks but nothing serious. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=132413&hl=
  21. So whats the deal puppys. Is it lines only or is an old man in a patrol allowed to come and have a look. If i move my walking frame fast enough I am sure I can keep up.
  22. you keep dropping hints about buying your line but i aint seen it advertised for sale anywhere.
  23. Leave the poor bugga alone. At his age I was workin 3 jobs to save the ready to buy a 350 ht gts monaro. I did buy it too and then went on to modify it in to a darn fast street car for its day. I had everybody throwing the same brickbats at me for wanting such an outrageous ride as well but f**kem. My money, my dream and I lived it. How many of you can see a little of yourselves in this young tiger, I for sure as hell can. Go for it kid. Just remember its other peoples well being you hold in your hands when you drive on the roads as well as your own. In a few short years you will probably be married and raising a family with nowhere neer the surplus funds to play with so enjoy it now then come back later when the kids are gone. Thats excactly what i am in the process of doing and I'll be danged if i dont feel like that kid again as I move closer to putting my ass in to a gtt skyline.
  24. Thanx for the heads up prego. some good info there.
  25. Looked at a vehicle with the title mentioned component fited as a mod. Back in our day we did our tuning by ear and seat of the pants feel. The skyline came imported with this piece of kit and no instructions. Anybody here familiar with this item. what are the benefits and just how do they work. From what I have gleaned to date its an over ride type engine management computer able to control fuel/air ratios etc. Do they have any other function and why would you need a hand controller. Do people actually alter their mixture settings whilst driving. Any info appreciated. Cheers
