  1. Mums the word Woosta.
  2. all true woosta but even the smallish market must be big enough. the 4.8 accounted for less than 5% of patrol sales also but nissan obviously felt it was enough to keep it in the lineup. As for buying a pos jeep. Not in this lifetime bud.
  3. Cooool pic.
  4. I'm sure nissan arent expecting these to sell like hot cakes Harry. me thinks the target market can be found at the pony club and like places where v8 rang e rovers, toyotas, merc and bimmer suv's are the norm. What makes them good in that environment also transfers to towing racecars. Loaded horsefloats are not light.
  5. noisy 32 is freakin noisy.
  6. Go sit in one, It is not a stretch at all unless you're a pygmy. This is not a 6 speed manual requiring multiple gear changes every time you drive it. Its an auto ffs. once in reverse to get you out of the driveway and then in to D. Voila! job done without the requirement of physio or accupuncture for torn or stretched ligaments. This thread is about tow cars. Towing requires 2 things, Stability under load and power. the new patrol is still built on a ladder chassis with suspension refinement that can only enhance its driveability. Power is class leading, stump pulling thunder that will rip the A frame off most of the old shitbox trailers you see at any racetrack every day. Fuel economy far exceeds that of my current tow truck the GU 4.8 litre patrol. Power is up by over 100 kw's and given the performance of the twin cam 4.8 that is mighty damn impressive. My only negative to the new patrol is the looks, the rear end treatment looks like a bucket of busted crabs but in terms of sheer capability performing the task this thread is all about I believe the V8 patty will have few equals.
  7. One more time...WHERE...WHEN....WHAT TIME.
  8. last I heard it was 9 pm at newmarket. whats the agenda, where and what time ?
  9. One of our qld members (Bradgtr) is dirving the pace car. Lucky bastard.
  10. 33 gtst 11.4@130mph 420 rwkw
  11. Doneski. Habib will be there.
  12. It could be arranged....
  13. I have a 33 gtr that could fill the bill.
  14. Josh you raging homo, how the hell are ya.
  15. Hurry up already Mitch, I'm gonna die of old age before you finish this damn thing.
  16. sorry to hear you are parting it bill.
  17. go to the qld section, toowoomba thread and ask the question there. A guy by the name of Chris Hahn has a 32 gtr and is in the game, He should be able to steer you right.
  18. Uts all relative woosta. I am currently pushing 235 kw's and whilst it doesnt run a 7 second 1/4 mile its mighty impressive when you just need grunt. Me thinks the 5.6 litre would only add more awesome.
  19. You shot who in the what !!!!
  20. Yeah the outside doesnt do a lot for me Woosta but the power/torque figure sure does. Hard to know where they see their target market.
  21. Had a look at the new v8 patrol yesterday, So much want but at a starting proce of 88 kay theres no way. The old 4.8 clicked over 350 kay last week and will do it again by the feel of it. It still hands arse to the v8 deisel landcruiser boys. they dont like being chopped by the patrols royce towing a trailer.
  22. Paul runs a good format for the qld time attack setup with any changes being of a minor nature to fine tune existing or accomodate new ideas. The problem I see with wta is motivated by money. I have no objection to the organisers making squillions from their investment but in making rule changes that allow existing cars to run under the new regs at the exclusion if cars being currently built is a recipe for a shit storm.
  23. you have a pm.
