DriftDadr32 replied to R33GTS25's topic in General Automotive Discussion
IF you ever get defected for an exhaust most exhaust shops will pass it anyways. My mate got busted with screamer pipe...almost 10 grand fine. -

How Crap Aussie Turbo Vehicles Are
DriftDadr32 replied to DriftDadr32's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Even though i started the thread i am glad they crap themselves as it keeps me in a job, it's fun pulling out and stripping engines (smells rad). I have seen first hand the problems with these vehicles but so far there have been no problems, recalls or service letters on the turbo focus. maybe volvo got it right. -

Which In Tank Fuel Pump Should I Use?
DriftDadr32 replied to DriftDadr32's topic in General Maintenance
cool, can you remember the part number ? -
I own a r32 gtst and my fuel pump is on it's last legs. I want to put in a larger pump but don't know what sort. I want to put in an internal pump as i need my boot. Have seen Walbro bosch and denso pumps. I'm looking to support roughly 220 rwkw after some future mods. any help would be great.

How Crap Aussie Turbo Vehicles Are
DriftDadr32 replied to DriftDadr32's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Like i said before these are observations that i have seen personally. Don't get me wrong there are modified vehicles putting up good numbers but a dead stock standard 1 yearold engine giving up the ghost sucks balls.... -

How Crap Aussie Turbo Vehicles Are
DriftDadr32 replied to DriftDadr32's topic in General Automotive Discussion
a few years ago we were sent a XR6T on a tow truck customer said would't start, found out later that C&V performance boosted it and it shattered a piston, it sent it all through the intake manifold. I think that they are built on the limit, meaning that adding anymore of anything and they will grenade. you cant add 7 more psi to a falcon the same way you can a rb motor. -

Diff bearings fail like it's nobody's business, crown and pinions collapse, they leak. Ford recomends castrol oils and shit maybe thats the problem or it could possible be too long between service intervals i down't know. i have friends that work for other companies and they have little warranty work. i have seen a 6sp manual trans shit itselt and rip the bell housing in half. I don't know... i would be pissed that my 60K car needs a new engine 1 year after i bought it.. -
How Crap Aussie Turbo Vehicles Are
DriftDadr32 replied to DriftDadr32's topic in General Automotive Discussion
The reason i say build quality is shit is because 80% of work done by our dealership is warranty repairs. all engines have been sent to ford and have been deemed "manufacturing fault". these cars are quickly mass produced. ask any ford owner about their diff. have changed up to 4 diffs in one vehicle. you can't tell me that's good build quality. -

How Crap Aussie Turbo Vehicles Are
DriftDadr32 replied to DriftDadr32's topic in General Automotive Discussion
very hard to destroy by abusing them. computer controlled boost etc.. you cant even cook them, they go into limp mode where fuel is pumped into them to keep them cool whilst they run on limited cylinders. the "point" of this thread is that i was just commenting on build quality. thats all . sorry -

since their release i've seen 5. the 8's are worse. waaaay worse -
I'm new here and yeah.. anyways i'm a mechanic for a certain manufacturer that brought out a 4L turbo engine a bout 4 years ago. well they suck. time and time again i see engine these motors fail and I would like to say that they should leave it to the japanese as i can sit my 17 year old rb on the limiter with no problems (so far) but i cant realy complain too much as it keeps me in a job.. Ha! I took a pic on my phone of one of these ( not so ) quality vehicles. It spat the dummy with only 15,000kms on the clock. Enjoy
