  1. i tried this and i get the same reading as i get from the loop at the rear. can someone please explain exactly how they made thier ignition lead
  2. ive tried using an ignition lead i get no reading from the timing light; it doesnt flash how did you guys make yours? i put the sprk plug end onto the sparkplug then put a bolt into the clip on the ther end then put the bolt into the coilpack. does it matter what my base idle speed is? http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-st...id=9371#details is this the timing light you have?
  3. thanks for the reply yer clamping it to the loop at the rear of the engine. are you using a TFT timing light? does it say to half it in the instruction booklet?
  4. im trying to set my ignition timing using a timing light following the instructions in the r34 workshop manual. the engine is an rb25neo which is in an r32. i cant set the timing any lower than 20 degrees. my cas is turned as far as it goes in the clockwise position is 20 degrees safe to run on a stock engine? why cant i set it any lower?

  7. im having a similar issue to DRFT33 when i crank the engine normlly it wont start but if i turn the cas prior to cranking it starts and runs. also if i let it sit idling for a while then turn it off. most times it will start up again without removing the cas. car is an r32 gts-4 with an rb25neo what could be the problem?

  10. hey everyone recently finished putting an rb25neo into my r32 gts4. ive had the car running and idling but havnt driven it. before i tried changing the attessa fluid the bottle in my boot and the rest of the system had no oil in it. i folowed this DIY:http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R32-Gtr-Attessa-Fluid-t102731.html filled the bottle with fluid, bled the nipple on the pump and unplugged the plug in the passenger footwell but when i tried bleeding from the nipple on the back of the gearbox my attessa pump wouldnt start. i also tried bleeding it with the engine running. should i be able to hear the pump running? my 4wd light is lit up on the dash. any ideas? thanks

  14. why would it be clear that the key inside the ex cam is broken lol. he was asking me if the cas is properly aligned not wether the key was inserted the correct way. i took the black plastic cover off the cas and watched the disc spin as the engine was cranking. as i said the cas drive is ok
  15. update! please help when i remove the cas and spin it manually in reverse! while im cranking the engine, the engine fires. but when rotating it in the correct direction it doesnt fire. also when i remove the cas and spin it to fill the cylinders with fuel. then replace the cas and try starting the engine it starts and runs for a few seconds then stops. is my problem fuel related or cas related? its obviously getting fuel when i turn it manually.
  16. hey it shoudnt matter which position the cas is in, should it?. ive tried starting it in different positions anyway. ive done a diagnostic check, came up with no errors.
  17. it was done on on a cold engine and the engine hasnt been started for over a year. i would expect it to read alot higher if it was at normal operating temperature and properly lubricated. the only reason i would be worried is if it wasnt even. my understanding is that even if compression is low in one cylinder or across all cylinders it should still start.

  19. mine has the same part number as the 2nd one. and my engine is a neo. it also has the same drive key. so i guess its the right one. where you trying to say that the r33 mitsubishi cas also came on early neo stagea engines?
  20. thanks for the reply. is the metal cover cas foundon neo engines too? i dont know which one mine had becuase it didnt come with one. i bought the plastic cover cas becuase i thought neo's only came out with this type.

Hey everyone havibg trouble starting my car. ive narrowed it down to possbly being my crank angle sensor the engine i dropped into my r32 was an rb25neo out of a stagea the cas was broken so i purchased a second hand item from NZ. it was off an rb25neo r34. is there only one series of rb25neo? if not would the CAS be the same on both? and did the stagea come with only on type/series of rb25neo?
  22. thanks for the reply the drive is ok. and the cas is a secondhand item off an r34 rb25neo are there two series of neo engines? would they have different cas's.?
  23. i just finished putting an rb25neo from a stagea into my r32 i did a rough wiring job just to get the car started im getting spark, injectors are pulsing and im seeing fuel getting squirted into the cylinder. all timing marks on the belt are lined up compression test results where 120psi on all cylinders on a cold engine. but it wont start. and it doesnt fire at all. when i remove the cas and spin it manually while im cranking the engine, the engine fires and when i spray aerostart into the manifold it also fires. what could be the problem? timing? firing order? thanks
