  1. ^ i am not using the stock turbo for the mod. i am getting a real gt3076r.
  2. Stop making my decisions difficult the 3076 IW should make more then that and sounds like its alot easier.
  3. ^your right Just needed to speak to the right person. Glen at Mtq is very helpful. Looks like i will be going the real gt3076 IW + turbo housing, only problem is there very hard to get at the moment from garrett and i am looking at a 2 month wait. However thats perfect for me to save and not need a loan. Then all i needs is the oil/water lines and dump. I think i have finally got my head around this shit. Thanks to everyones opinions they have been very helpful.
  4. ^ turbo housing different wont bolt to existing according to turbotech
  5. i am thinking cgc highflow tuned with supporting mods should be almost a third the price with could street performance minus the defect. I wouldnt need a loan too.
  6. Yes very valid points. I started from scratch with this car and made it look the way i wanted. I dont really want to have to sell or swap for another one with power and internal strength i desire. 280kw would be very much desired but nothing below 260. Ideally a 2835 pro s would have been perfect but there basically 4000grand now, 6 , months ago it was about 2600. i have ecu and pump so all i would need would be injectors and z32 plus turbo setup. I really dont no anymore i might just hold back and sit on it.
  7. ^ when and where did they get their personal loans on 9-10%?
  8. its either gt3582 .82 housing or gt3076 .82 housing My goal was 300rwkw on high boost. Question is then can the gt3076r make that in real power?
  9. Thats more like dieing, lol Would be perfect if i had a 3l
  10. HD excedy clutch will handle over 300kw easy. Breaks and suspension stock After a quick chat with tuner and leigh. They think the .63 housing is pointless on the gt35 as the top end goes out the window especially since the 25 wants to rev its impractical. You can see on the dyno that its chocking on the high rpm. That power figure seems suss. Better of going down to a 3076r which is not going to get 300 more like 250 real kilowatts. All good valid responses guys keep them coming.
  11. hmm very interesting bubba thankyou. That has saved me some searching. That may change things for the housing at least but i still think its the right turbo. Only problem there is it doesnt show what rpm it hit full boost. She did say though full boost by 3800 so we will assume she is correct. That is very good. It would save me about 1500 if i got hers but with etm i am getting a better manifold, wastegate, dump pipe, screamer, oil lines etc all ceramic coated brand new. I need peace of mind. I have some pondering to do.
  12. I am keeping plenum and throttle body stock. Would be nice but its not needed just extra $ Cooler to turbo piping and intake pipe will need a bit of work. All has been accounted for and will have an extra $1000 if needs be. Tuner reckons .63 housing will be chocking.
  13. Tempe tyres are cheapest of the bunch + $100 delivery for the lot.
  14. Do you not think a .63 housing will chock?
  15. yeah i thought about that but this one gives me more room for improvement for the future if i choose. Other options would have been 3071(will struggle to get that power), 3076 (may also struggle), 3082 (spool times are close to 35) Jap turbos are out of the question with the prices Garret prices are the same for all of them. I had considered smaller for better response. But leigh and tuner recommend i go the bigger option. However i could be persuaded.
  16. Yeah and that too. How much extra slush would you have in mind?
  17. Its not really the issue but its $2.5 monthly fees with $149 establishment fee an no penalty fees for early payout. Its the pick of the bunch so far if you know a better one let me know but i am can live with that.
  18. Its a genuine garret gt3582 aka gt3540 with .82 exhaust housing.. Everything will be quoted before hand on paper before i have it installed. Only thing will need a unknown amount of modification is the turbo to cooler piping. The rest is straight forward.
  19. Yeah right with you mate I had loans approved instantly. Was going to add on to existing loan but as you said that is increasing the current loan interest rate with it to 14.4% from 12.5% and they only give checks so it wouldnt really work out as there is money going all over the place to different suppliers. Nab you suck! So i decided if i am going to do it i will get a new seperate loan from a different bank. police & nurses 13.99% and they can just put it in my account. Its no secret with the turbo supplier Leigh from extreme turbo manifolds. Just google that name and there is prices on the calaisturbo site. Only problem is he is so good and busy its a 2 month lead time
  20. I am 50:50 at the moment in regards to a turbo upgrade. I am planning on getting a turbo kit from extreme turbo manifolds for my r33 gtst 2.5l. Thats a gt3582, wastegate, dump, screamer (plumbedback, manifold, oil lines etc all ceramic coated. Also upgrading to 740cc injectors, z32 and fuel pump to support the above. I already have the remaining needed mods. This all installed, tuned etc will cost me roughly $7500. Will be an easy 280rwkw on low boost 300 on high, not going to push for more as internals are stock. With these mods 350 could be done. I expected to have my current loan paid off by the end of next year. Then i could move on and save for house deposit etc. Obviously i will need to get the money loaned and its going to add roughly an extra 10 months to my debt. So i will be finished in roughly 22months rather then 12 without the turbo. Everyone is telling me not to do it with the current economic state and you dont need anymore power its already fast crap. They could never understand as their views are biased. I am having the car in for a 100,000km service in a couple of weeks and will get the tuner to check the health to see if upgrade is ok, i got it with service records from Japan with 60,000 and most of my kms have been freeway so it shoudlnt be a problem. I just keep telling myself you only live once and its only 10 months extra. It has been a dream for many years. Its a big decision and i normally wouldnt bother asking but i need some unbiased opinions. Cheers Pat
  21. one more thing Bruce from Fibre Vision makes up kits for the spoiler shop so if you get anything from the spoiler shop your just buying a marked up product from fibrevision. Go to the source.
  22. Do luck front (550 monkey warehouse delivered) + Do luck sides ($340 monkey warehouse delivered) + Jun rear pods ($350 purchase from fibrevision) + 1100 paint and fit = $2340 If you get a full kit it is much much cheaper.... Having said that i actually spent more cause i was ignorant. I wanted jun side skirts at first and saw some on ebay for $150. It was a stupid impulse buy, postage ended up being $150 from queensland And they were useless. Ebay is not your friend when it comes to cars. It wasnt until i had the kit being fitted that i was told they were useless so i neede a quick replacement. The nearest thing to jun was 400r. They fit so so good but they just sat to high and didnt go with the front. They cost $350. I ended up then later after getting them fiitted taking them off and getting some do-lucks painted and fitted. I sold the 400r for $250 bargain to someone here. So in reality it cost me $3140 in total after swapping etc. Everytime someone asks about kits i lend my advice cause if you dont know what your doing you can easily waste alot of money.
  23. Fibre vision did my kit $1100 to paint and fit any full kit Anyone thinking of the 400r kit should 100% get it done at fibrevision. They have their own full 400r kit mould. I had some sides made from them. And you will not find a kit that fits better. I remember to have a custom front bar made was $1100 and fitting and painting same
  24. well unless i got a bad batch i will have to disagree with everyone My car was tuned with bp ultimate 98, i never got above 12 no matter what i did I put in some Caltex vortex 98 and my knock values went through the roof at high rpm. I went to 6900rpm and knock when from 6 to 66 in an instant. Tune was spot on too
  25. You can get these NEW for like $1780 and cheaper if you know someone
