  1. ive got a copy of the hyper rev...the new one. but dont get me wrong for daily driving and spirited im sure the whiteline/bilstein will work great but i was looking for more, and he might be as well...thats all im tryign to say
  2. but still, if i were to raise it even two inches, and use anything less than 8k all around, there would be so much bodyroll it wouldnt do any good. might as well get lowering springs then...and THEN with a 3 inch exhaust, due to the lack of stiffness, the exaust would drag only reason i can be as low as i want to is becuase i have a presubframe dump. and he never said what he needed it for you guys can show the normal stuff, i can show the higher end track type coilovers that give you more adjustment..thats all and i know id hate it if i had anythign less than a 10k 8k setup personally \ but regardles of what you get try and get something with both preload and height adjustment like the first set i posted....much better choice
  3. 4k??!?!? you cant be seriuos, on the highway when i hit dips at my height it scrapes with the 12k/10k at about 140KPH 4k would bury it into the ground....thats like....less KG than stock..... and HAs are no better than whitelines...still single way adjustable wiht only preload....not height as well basically as a rule of thumb in number of adjustments and potential performance advantage due to number of adjustments (for track use or whatever you want) http://www.silkroad-jp.com/section/a8.html what is have (in adjustbility wise) is better than which is better than which is better than stock
  4. think about it when you only have preload adjustment (which is essentially what it is) if you want to lower the car, you have to move the spring lower since you dont have a threaded shock body to screw down, and not effect the spring tension. so yes, it would make sense that it happens...adn will also damage your shocks over time due to reduced stroke travel, they have hte possiblilty to heat up too much from the short strokes.....
  5. i have athe 10/8 springs as well.... but in all honestly, if your not really looking for real performance (not to say the whitelines dont do that) then dont buy coilovers, they are inherently stiffer, not as comfortable to me performance > comfort. thats why i dont mind higher springrates adn stiffer valving. some might hate it, but i build cars that i take on the track when they are done regularly, and i dont mind compromising a little comfort for more handling. but thats just me
  6. silkroad is rebuildable, with the 12/10k springs its slightly firm, but still forgiving adn not uncomfortable on 2-3 clicks all around all teh way soft, id say it was softer than another one i rode in with stock suspension im getting rid of them becuase hte front doesnt go as low as i want to, so i had a set of custom coilovers made so i can even it out and run a higher springrate.....i got hte new ones revalved to match 18/16 springs.
  7. now...600.00 my new coilovers just came in, so these are comming off this weekend
  8. also if it matters im using a stagea manual gearbox from an Autech
  9. im selling my silkroad RM/A8 suspension.....fully adjustable stagea coilovers
  10. maybe the final gear in teh tranny is lower than the manual?
  11. heh, i had that problem then i welded a dump right after the first muffler, nad before the subframe now i scrape the subframe sometimes lol
  12. ok, i just got back from a 300KM trip at 110 KPH im ar 2700 RPM
  13. becuase i dont care if my RPMs are at 3500 at 100KPH just means faster spool
  14. it might be marked, if it is its normally on the back of the hub if not, just look online how to measure offset, and its a bitch of a process, but its not too bad
  15. if you go to a dealer you shouldnt modify a car
  16. that sucks I dont know all the aussie rules...but it doesnt look very fun
  17. why? spacers make up for poop offsets with more offsets
  18. according to the calculations the rear wont be baddddd maybe a 10mm spacer but you should get maybe a 20mm spacer for the front its gonna be hugely sunken thatswhy i hate stageas wheel fitment sometimes. its backwards compared to everything else. lower offsets front higher in the rear is weird
  19. well the problem is the huns on the front are further in than the rear If you wanted to go flush all the way aroundk you COULD, but youd need to slightly roll the rear fenders so you can clear the tires but honestly, if the skyline/cefiro/S chassis guys can do it, what is stopping you guys? you really think they are going to stop you and say , hey your wheels are too wide.....just say it came with 8s from teh facotry or something
  20. what kind of fitment are you wanting? sunken or flush with the body? to be conservatiev in the rear go 8 +15-+20 for the front since you can actually usea lower offset id go +0t to +10 however, if you do go with the offsets above please run a 215/40 or 45 tire so you dont rub the inner lip ont eh fender please however if you want to go a little wider (9s are plenty) if you go 9 x+25 or +30 all around on stock body (no rolling or pulling) SHOULD fit without poking at all. but i always roll my fenders so i cant tell you for sure since i rolled them as soon as i could
