  1. nah, no need to go to that length, i believe you, just hadn't heard that before
  2. the car has an exhaust and a pod... which means it is going to be not much quicker than standard (i.e. wet wig)... there is not a track in Australia short of Bathurst (conrod straight) that i can think of that a near-standard R33 would be able to wind out to anywhere near 240kph
  3. i didnt think u needed a cams lic. to race at MP?
  4. yeah... was gonna say, what fuel pump are you running? it could be that the pump is about to shit itself and requires replacing
  5. mm Hg = millimeters of mercury 1 mmHG = 0.01933678011 psi 1 bar = 14.50377439 psi therefore 1 bar = 750.061505 mmHG
  6. i would like to subscribe to receiving this 110 - 115 RON pump fuel?
  7. also... cars with cats usually won't blow flames.... unless the cat is already melted into a smouldering lump of goo... be glad the cop didn't know this.... as it is a rather large fine
  8. do you have an Atmo BOV? if so, ditch it and get a plumb-back... will solve alot of your problems... sounds like it is overfuelling on gearchange, which an Atmo BOV will cause... this is due to it 'dumping' already metered air out of the system... the computer continues to pump in enough fuel to compensate for this already-metered air (which is no longer there) hence it runs rich.
  9. quite possibly because of the target audience for these cars.....
  10. you can tell if its been chipped if you take the cover off the ECU... if its been chipped, the standard solder-in ROM chip will have been removed, and a socket soldered in, in its place, with the new chip inside that... or if its a MINES ecu or something like that they usually have the sticker on the outside of it. but if you've hit 240, there's 2 things i can deduce from that... a) you're an idiot and b) the standard 180kph speed limiter has been removed, which is either done by running a speed cut defender or a modified/aftermarket ECU
  11. i'd probably like to borrow one as well... have a trackday coming up in sept. and wouldn't mind taking a bit extra fuel with me incase i'm running low by the end of the day...
  12. Negative ghostrider.... unfortunately, the chicks here don't seem to care... unless you drive a ferrari or something... and the ones who do are all 15 - 16 year old car-broad minded persons (though that may not be a bad thing if you're only 17 ), who seem to like the ricers with their doof, shiney rims, neons, bodykits etc.
  13. the other thing you will have to watch, that i noticed he didn't mention, is that the dept. of transport/police can 'apparently' fine you if the suspension does not remain within a certain compliance level compared to stock (i.e. the suspension is too stiff)
  14. parts updated
  15. don't know why you don't get hassled Dave... you look like a pretty easy target to me? and yeah, it seems to be the young kids with something to prove who make the biggest stand... at Bray Park train station i had a group of about 5 or 6 young teenagers (up to around 16) come up to me as i was walking across the overhead bridge (alone) the youngest one stood in my way and wouldn't let me past, started mouthing off, pushing me etc... i ended up picking him up with one hand and 'gently placing' him into the railing.... his friends sorta backed off a bit but another one decided he was going to be a tough guy and put out his cigarette on my arm.... i just looked at him like "wtf?", gave him a gentle tap to the stomach and continued on my merry way to catch the train.... another time i had some guy following me down a dark street in the city, he was walking faster than i was to catch up... i knew he was there for a couple of minutes... when he eventually caught up, i just turned around, ready to smack him one, and he freaked out... wasn't expecting me to notice him, and ran off like a little girl... haha... i saw him in a club again later on that night and he basically ran away again
  16. i've had a few run-ins with gangs etc in the city, and also at train stations... luckily for me, not being an overly small bloke has its advantages for once, and makes alot of guys think twice
  17. Firstly, what you need to do is decide what sort of finish you are looking for, then assess the condition of your paint... read around on a few different discussion forums like www.autopia.org or www.detailparadise.com.au, to see how others rate products etc. Then you really need to speak to a detailer, or someone who knows their products well, to find out what they think you should use (again, depends what your paint is like, the desired outcome, whether you are using a random orbital or doing it by hand, etc) nope - she's at home in the garage, as snug as a bug in a rug I have another car that i can take to work Hey mate, the server got hit by hackers (multiple forums went down) and the guy maintaining it wasn't around for about a week, and the forum was going downhill anyway, all it was used for was spam, so i decided to can it. Brendale is close-by for me, and i wanted an industrial backdrop for the photos.... was driving past, and the block of buildings that ARE is in caught my eye... then noticed it was ARE's workshop so i decided it was semi-fitting to take the pics of a modified car outside their workshop I just used 2 buckets... 1 with the carwash in it, and another to rinse the car down with (this one was constantly being refilled) i have a Karcher pressure washer that i can use... i have modified it so that it can be gravity-fed from a bucket, but it takes a lot of effort to set up, and i really couldn't be bothered the other day the buffing machine makes a lot of difference also, the quality of product you are using, as well as the condition of your paint are big influences as well. Wheels are coming soon... am waiting until my current ones wear out, then i will be upgrading to some 17's Usually have to leave a car for a couple of months after its been painted before detailing it, due to having to let the paint cure properly first, but let me know, and i may be able to help you out yeah, with every good thing, there's always a downside... It has bought out alot of the imperfections in my paint too... i've found bog marks that i never knew were there, shows up the little dents/bubbles in the paint/fisheyes/scratches etc.... excellent! you have any pics? sounds like a plan, lol!
  18. Haha, yeah, i know what thats like... watch this space though... when i get a bit more experience under my belt, i may start offering to do club members cars for reasonable prices sweet! what was the promo shoot for? who was the photographer? Thanks! Hahah, horn on a jellyfish... thats funny The products i used are: Meguiars NXT Wash - Available at most auto shops like Supercheap, Autobarn etc Pinnacle Ultra Fine Clay Bar & Lubricant - Click here! Meguiars Swirl Remover 2.0 - Available at most auto shops like Supercheap, Autobarn etc Poorboys Pro Polish with Carnauba - Click here! Poorboys EX Sealant - Click here! Poorboys Natty Paste Wax - Click here! The thing is, every car is different... what works on one car, may not work on another car. Also depends on the condition of your paint, the colour, if its been resprayed previously, etc... there are alot of variables... its just trial and error to see what works. Also depends on what you're looking for in a finish.. whether you want outright shine, or a deep/wet look etc... I.e. after i had finished, we tried a different polish, from Menzerna on one of the panels, and it was better again than what i had already used... also costs a bit over twice as much With white, you really have to make up your mind where you draw the line, as the more you spend, you get ever-diminishing returns, as white is probably the hardest colour to get looking really good. I used a Bosch PEX 400 AE Random Orbital... would be pretty much impossible to get the same sort of finish doing it by hand... the pics don't really do it justice... you literally have to wear sunglasses when looking at it in the sun... lol... I will reply to the rest of the posts later on tonight when i get to work!
  19. thats the one i have Beer Baron
  20. its not for CAMS events, just sprint days and the likes (we have no CAMS tracks up here in QLD... its not even a prerequisite... just something i want to add for a bit of piece of mind
  21. no worries, thanks for the offer anyway
  22. Hi Guys/Girls I just found out one of my R32 GTS-t rims has a slight buckle in it, and i was intending to use them for my track rims in about 2 weeks time..... as such, i need a replacement rim fairly urgently... does anyone have one i can beg/borrow/buy? Thanks, Jason
  23. Okay, i'm bored, so i thought i'd post up some pics of my car that i took yesterday afternoon.... I detailed it on the weekend.... started at 7am on Saturday morning, stopped working on it at 6pm Saturday night, and worked on it again from 7am Sunday morning until Midday.... Needless to say, its rather funny watching me try to walk today 'coz my back and legs are killing me! (had to work in a very confined space, so had to be a bit of a contortionist) the end result can be seen in the pics hope you enjoy!
  24. won't be able to make this one, guys i start work at 8:30
