  2. $180???? WTF???? i hope the car was washed by extremely gorgeous naked uni chicks, and there was a 'happy ending' included for that price????

  4. sweet, let us know how you go Pear!
  5. not a self-wash, but there's a 'touchless' carwash at the BP service station on Coronation drive in Toowong?
  6. go see Ken Graham @ Accurate Suspensions.
  7. feel free to PM me Karen, as i've just signed up with them :|
  8. why's that daveo? have you bought a fairly modified GTR without anyone knowing? anyway, i thought all Taxi's were auto?
  9. i'm happy to show you how to go fast daveo!
  10. interested! will have to try and get some stuff sorted/day off etc, so put me down as a tentative!
  11. Hi All, following on from the GTR vs. N1 block debate, I was wondering if there were any differences between the different versions of the RB30 bottom ends? if so, what are they, and which would be better to use?
  12. JHH seems to get a good mention around the place. have also heard of Chilton Engineering before too!
  13. i would LOVE to know this as well! *subscribes*
  14. agreed... if you can't tell when you're getting close to redline, and you hit redline every time you take off in first, you're obviously too unco-ordinated to be driving a high performance car... no.. wait... make that driving fullstop... do everyone a favour and either learn how to drive properly, or sell the car and start catching a bus, otherwise we are going to hear about another skyline written off on the news.
  15. yeah, i managed to get 3 sessions in a row at the end, so that made up for missing out on the rest of the day i guess... and yes, it was worth getting out on the track... i'm glad i didn't spit the dummy and tear into them and demand my money back now
  16. i was staggered by how well that thing went, to be honest with you!
  17. it went okay... was a bit annoyed at some of the goings-on and the way things were organised, but it all sorted itself out in the end, so not too bad i guess.... i have decided i need more power, and better rubber and stiffer springs
  18. oh, so it was you in the land-yacht 'o smokin brakes?
  19. spotted Afro, and 83nno and 3lit3_32 last night
  20. the pressure you should run, is the pressure that the vehicle was tuned to run... so, in other words, get it on a dyno, wind a little bit of boost into it at a time, and check for detonation, check the AFR's etc. however, having said that, at a guess, around 14psi to 1bar 'should' be okay, providing everything is in good condition, like ur fuel pump etc... again, get it on a dyno and check, don't go by a 'generic' answer that someone gives you online, as each car is different
  21. there's nothing wrong with the stock OPS... the only thing wrong with them is the fact that they're getting close to 15 years old and as such, are f**ked. what happens is the rubber seal around them fails, and lets oil inside the unit itself. from what i've heard, if you replace it with another factory one (or in this case a VDO one) it should be fine for another 15 years. *note* this is what i've been told in terms of why they play up etc
  22. you keep going back to the point of 'big hp cars' which cars are you referring to exactly? if you're referring to big hp drag cars.... you'll find that alot of them either remove their lefthand headlight, or have replaced it with a custom headlight that incorporates an air intake. With drags, the car is only started a very short time before the actual run, therefore they don't have to worry too much about heat soak and the ambient temperature of the engine bay... and as i said, during their run they're getting outside air forced through their engine bay anyway... and yes, alot of them still run some form of shield anyway. if you're referring to big hp circuit cars, you've got to be kidding me... i don't think i've ever seen one that DOESN'T have some form of heat shield!?!

    Cefiro

that post makes about as much sense as "We Produce With Spartan Air" but of course you cefiro drivers wouldn't recognise that reference?
  24. The old holden 202 did... it pinged for 3 years, constantly.... mind you, its hardly the epitome of technological excellence.... what i want to know is why roughly 50% of cars on the road today seem to ping? you drive next to them in traffic an you can hear it as they accelerate, and i cringe :
  25. its 'coz they figure people in the 'modified car scene'... or, more importantly, their target audience (15 or 16 year old schoolkids who could only afford a car if mummy and daddy bought it for them) are all sex deprived and couldn't get some if they tried....
