  1. Was just browsing through ebay, and came across this guy in NZ selling these cheap Aero mirrors... they look like ripoffs of east-bear/ganador styles... I was just wondering if anyone had bought any of these or seen them in the flesh? The pictures aren't working for me at the moment, though i saw the pictures the other day, and they look the same as this: http://stores.ebay.com.au/LTCPARTS-LIGHTIN...9QQftidZ2QQtZkm
  2. well, my brakes are on (i've still gotta get them sorted though... rears are locking up with more than about 1/2 pedal pressure) and i've got the thurs/friday off before then as well, so i'll hopefully be able to do a service, including new diff and gearbox oil in other words, i am trying to make it out to this one!
  3. if you got a quote from this place for $6k, they should have given you an itemised account of what they would replace/need. take a look at the parts that you require on that list, and then call a wreckers and get prices from that list.
  4. Hi Impakt, i bought one of these off you aaaages ago (like, a year and a half ) i was wondering if there are any software upgrades or anything like that that have changed over the years of you making them, or are they still the same as when you started?
  5. whoah, what a spin-out! i was thinking "hang on... doesn't smooth already live in QLD?" then i read about Erin still owning the '33 and it clicked to look at the dates... 02... good one Cy..
  6. Just saw this thread on Performanceforums advising that the new circuit out at Kilcoy is no longer going ahead http://www.performanceforums.com/forums/sh....php?t=67204449
  7. Hi guys.... what would you recommend for my little RB20DET which has done 205,000km? (well, thats what's showing on the odometer, not sure if the engine has been changed in the past though) i'm currently using Motul Turbolight 10w40, but i've got an oil change due very shortly, so might change to something a bit better. At present, it doesn't blow any oil smoke, or use any oil or anything (oil level doesn't move in the 5000km service intervals that i have) The car is used mainly to drive to work, with a workout sometimes, but it does see the occasional track day.
  8. 6k sounds like it would be a reasonable quote...
  9. saw a White '33 with gold 'mesh' rims and a black (carbon? sorry, didn't really see) bonnet at aspley BP last night around 10:30ish
  10. gonna be a long drive home too! i can see alot of major roads from the window in the tea room... coronation drive, high street, riverside expressway, blah blah blah... they're all carparks... lucky i don't finish until 10
  11. bugger, i wouldn't mind going to see this, but alas, i'm working!
  12. I cringed at all of his driving in the first half of the movie... i felt violently ill when he was trying to drift the S15, and also when he first got the EVO
  13. well, i pulled the front pads out yesterday, and they seemed to be a little glazed, so i scuffed them up a bit and put them back in, will have to try and bed them in again when the roads dry up a bit :S don't know if it will fix the problem or not though
  14. i saw it yesterday.... i was physically cringing in my seat at his driving abilities (or lack of) at the start of the movie..... i think i will need therapy after seeing some of the things he did.... still a little bit too much rice for my liking, though NOWHERE near as cheesy as the last 2 instalments. chicks were FINE storyline was semi-believeable. overall, i rate it better than the other 2 movies, and i didn't mind it TOO much... lets hope they make another one, and make it even better again!
  15. Yep, definately locking up... sometimes it howls, sometimes it is silent though.... Front of the car dives, yes... which is why i made the same suggestion in my original post... though its not too bad... Rear wheel alignment should be fine, it wasn't done that long ago... can post up specs when i get home tomorrow. AFAIK there is no play in the tie rod ends, but i will have a look. Car does not have HICAS any more either Tyres are the same front and rear... they are Goodyear Eagle Revspec RS-02's... i've found them to be a fairly good street tyre actually. As for if they're bedded in correctly.... well, i'm not sure... doesn't seem i can get enough heat into them on the street to bed them in....
  16. fine... brand new whiteline lock & align kit
  17. Hi All, have a problem with my R32 GTS-t at the moment, in that when braking hard, the rear end seems to lock up VERY easily, and slides around all over the place, basically steering the car from the rear... This problem was evident with my last brake setup (standard calipers/rotors, with RB74 pads on the front and generic pads (probably bendix ultimates) on the rear. i thought it might go away with the new brake setup (standard calipers, DBA4000 slotted rotors up front, machined standard rotors rear, Ferodo DS2500 pads all around) but it hasn't... if anything, its worse... Do these cars have any sort of factory adjustable brake bias? other than that, i have another theory that maybe the front springs are a bit soft, causing too much weight transfer to the front, thereby unloading the rear suspension/nearly lifting the tyres off the road, however, i don't think this would be the case, due to the suspension being all pretty much new Whiteline stuff, which is designed to work together? thoughts anyone?
  18. i'm pretty sure you're wrong about the deposit on car things there satanic... i'm pretty sure the way it works is if you place a deposit on a vehicle, they HAVE to hold it for you... doesn't matter if it's a 5c deposit or a $5000 deposit... it is still legally binding (though they usually specify the minimum deposit they are after)
  19. seems to be a bit of this going on recently. I have a friend who had her heart set on buying a 180sx from a caryard. She'd been and looked at it probably 3 or 4 times, had had a few mechanics check it over, even had a rather substantial deposit placed on it. She went to pick it up the other day, and when she got there the guy at the caryard is like "Sorry, its been sold... here's your deposit back" at least she got her deposit back i guess pissed me off no end, as i went through similar dramas to get my R32, but in the end they sold it to me after i put enough pressure on them.

  21. i have a standard R33 Series 1 Turbo for sale, it works/makes boost, no shaft play, however, it has a whine to it. looking for around $200
  22. Spotted a Green? R32 broken down on Coronation drive this morning, young lady driving it... i'm sorry i didn't stop, by the time i saw you, i was already past you with nowhere really to pull in, and the Traffic Response Unit was already there, i probably wouldn't have been much more help than he was...
  23. is there any way to kick these faglords out of the club for doing shit like that? thats if they even are members, which with attitudes like that, they probably aren't.
